Thank you everyone!

Oh, wow! Thank you all very much! It has been a journey. To answer some questions, I just stuck to my calorie limits and I work out three times a week. I also am very active in my spare time. I hike and climb mountains... you know, Colorado stuff. Its just discipline and consistency, as you all know! Again, thank you all…

Thank you everyone! I appreciate the support! Consistent, some discipline, embracing the lifestyle change, and a food scale! Started looking for hobbies that are active and don't require running. I love to hike and ski! Oh it's unreal. I went back home for Christmas and all my high school buddies got together for a hike…

Um... Yes!

Add me! I have been binging my whole life even though I didn't know I had a problem until I lost 100 lbs this year. I'm trying to fight it and work with it, but it's tough.
-
Same here. I've lost 100 lbs and on the last 15. I weight 190, I want to be 175. Going to the gym a lot and very active outside, but it has slowed down a little bit. Would love to have some fitness friends that are on the same leg of my journey.

The thing that has helped me was to get out of the mindset that you're starting something and that your just changing something temporarily. I think that many people get in the mindset that they are starting a diet or that losing weight is something they just need to do for a while. You have to remember why you're over…

Thank you, sometimes I wake up late at night and wonder where it went. Seriously though, I do sometimes miss that thing. And thank you all for your support and comments!

That's a great question. Man, you know, after thinking about it for a while I believe it will take a somewhat complex answer. I have always been one to seize opportunities. I have always had a zest for life and adventure. When I was 18 I moved to the Dominican Republic and worked on a shrimp farm... I have moved over 15…

Thank you! I can't believe it. I feel so amazing at this moment. Are you the one that made the Joshua Jackson comment?? I had been planning for that summit all winter long. Then when the time came to climb that mountain my musician friends said they wanted to jam at the top. One of my friends sadly told me he was sorry I…

I'm from Alabama, so I feel you there, except that a month ago I traveled home for the first time in a few years... and I have to say, I think you can find beauty just about anywhere. I was swamped with the South's own form of nature and beauty, which is a shame, since I had apparently missed it the whole time I lived…

I haven't done Pikes Peak, but I bet it would be a blast. Only 51 left to go, ha ha ha! Lets get a group of MFP Coloradans and summit it! Thank you SO much! I love Colorado but I have lived in Arizona and New Mexico as well. They have their own form of beauty and lack the tourism of Colorado. However, it DOES get hot…

I've lost eighty lbs (40 more to go!) and my hip bones and collar bones are starting to make an appearance. I also play the upright bass. The BIG one. When I carry the bass the neck rests on my shoulder/collar and the bottom of the bass rests on my hips. Here in the last few weeks it's gotten quite painful when i move my…

I'm a positive vibe kinda guy. I'd love to be a friend!

Hey, you're doing it! You're already the person you want to be, it's just gonna take your body a minute to catch up. Add me!

Peanut butter and banana!

Thank you everyone! I love the support on here. Next time I post a success, I'll be at my goal weight!

Mahalo. Somewhere down the line, I'll tell my kids that my trip to Hawaii was a big part of my inspiration.
-
I'm not really sure, I had to use my computer to post this images. Maybe there is a link? Thank you all for your kind words and motivation!

I'm bumping this because in the last few weeks I've noticed something pretty crazy. It's kinda funny, kinda gross, and not something i really wanna share with my colleagues. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this? My flab is flabbier! Seriously, it's like my fat just went from firm to... Loosish jello. I guess…

Ha ha I'm getting better. I've memorised so quite a few of my breakfast stuff. It is actually kinda fun. I still have a hard time with things like a foot long Philly cheese steak sandwich, though.
-
Thanks, guys. That is exactly what I needed to hear. Sometimes I forget about this awesome community and I feel like I'm fighting my own silent fight. This whole thing is still so new, I forget that I just can't control EVERY aspect of my life.
-
Hey man (or gal). You can beat this, trust me. I know the feeling. It's like you're trapped inside your own body watching yourself from inside your head while you just throw the food back. It's that endorphin rush of getting that *one* thing that you are craving only to start binging as soon as you get it. Man, I know that…

I came up with a number for my mom, actually. I told her 180, which she said was too low (even though that's what the charts say). I agree with her because I've always been a pretty muscular guy, so I just target somewhere between 190 and 210. I'm the same with everyone else, though. I'll know I'm good when I'm good.
-
Bingo, that's exactly what I'm looking for!
-
Good point. I'm kinda a people pleaser and I think this manifested through some sort of thinking regarding accountability. "If I do this and people know, they'll see I'm serious" Another thing that motivated me to this is because I moved across the country a few years ago. I have hundreds of friends and family, many who…

Ditto that. I'm a binge eater as well. I've never had a problem with bulimia but I do know the feeling of feeling out of control and hopeless. Maybe we can tackle that aspect of our problem together?
-
Thanks Jerome! I will try your advice in about 60 to 75 lbs! I'm still 259 lbs
-
Don't get caught up in some fad diet, trust me. Are you going to eat paleo for the rest of your life? I hope not, and if you don't you'll be back to where you're at now. Trust me, it happens all the time. Keep eating the foods you enjoy and make changes over time. When I started my journey I was still eating out fairly…

Hey there, man you're doing great! It's soooooo hard getting started, but I promise, you stick to it and it'll get better, I promise. As the lbs come off you'll get more confidence and resolve. I'd be proud to be your friend! Congratulations on making a change!
