I had some life stressors in January and weight loss and logging my food was just not a priority. I gained back almost all the weight (10 pounds or so) so I have decided to go back on. Most of it is just actually seeing what the calorie count is, the other is that I was "letting myself go" and not watching what I ate (or…

I am diabetic (insulin-resistant) and working on not being obese. Down 12 pounds so far. Going slowly.

My wishlist is a standing desk or possibly a treadmill desk, but I have to get it for myself, so it may be a while. Maybe if I put some money away for every pound I lose or every day I am under budget calorie wise? ?? ?

Sometimes you need to just have a day and eat, so that your metabolism kicks back in, and burns the calories. It sounds like your body is going into "starvation mode" Change it up a little - just my opinion. :)

Hi: I don't drink as much as I used to, but I'm trying to lose weight without having to give up my wine in the evening. I say 2 glasses, but they are BIG glasses. I try to save the calories from something else, but it also affects my willpower in the evening to snack.

Wow! That is impressive. I reread your original post and I was reading it to say that you did that in a day, but you actually hit that as a milestone. Sorry for the disbelief!

You guys are shaming me - wait until it is 60 degrees out, and I take my dog for a long walk in the woods :)

Amazing how many steps I can get in just going downstairs for laundry (1 trip to put it in washer, one trip to put it in dryer, separate trip to put in load #2 and take out load #1 and bring it upstairs). Not to mention the trips I make when I forget what I went down for

I'm in! Been walking over10,000 steps according to my fitbit. Thinking of raising my goal to 12 k. Sometimes I'm walking circles in my dining room to get my 10 K before midnight! To the person who got a dog, that was my motivation. She takes me out 3 times a day, and she likes to run!

I'm interested in knowing if anyone feels that the diet soda makes you hungrier. I hate water, but I use a little fruit juice or the liquid flavoring (Mio or similar) to flavor it. Would that do the same thing?

I love my Bloody Mary - it counts as 2 vegetables with the V8! Also, I tend to cut back in other areas to allow myself my nightly white wine. Sometimes I will do extra treadmill time to make "room" for the calories.

Once I get 10K for a consistent period of time (10 days?) I'm moving my goal to 12K, then possibly to 15K. Most of it is accomplished while walking the dog, 3-4 x a day, as I have a sedentery job. Really need a treadmill desk! :)

Tell me about it while I'm walking circles in my dining room at 11:30 at night to get my 10 K by midnight. Huge motivating factor, and as has been said before, any steps are better than no steps. I also heard the "30 minute continuous exercise, or don't bother" but then I have also heard, every little bit you move helps,…
