I drink once a week on my Saturday evening off (no counting for about 5 hours so one meal, some choc and some gin). I used to drink every day too and sometimes quite a bit. Once I started calorie counting 5 weeks ago I realised it was just a habit! Once I'd broken it I didn't miss it at all. I also realised I prefer eating…

As the others have said...Don't do it! I'm guessing you're English (?); I did a diet called slim and save (650 Cals per day) (you might have heard of it?) before my wedding in 2013... I lost 5 stone quickly...Started eating normally again and gained it all back plus some. It did my body no favours whatsoever and is…

Yes, fair point!

Oh and I am very short - 5 ft 1.5.

Thank you! 1. Yes, absolutely. Hand on heart! I have digital scales and weigh everything to the gram. Obsessively so. The only things I don't weight are ready meals. 2. I know I am eating too little tbh. But I told myself that after another stone I would up my calories to 1400 per day. 4. I am on quite a high dose, tbh…

Why would you be concerned about it? It's not really a 'blowout' - I just have a nice meal of my choosing, one item of chocolate and some alcohol (usually gin, with some wine). I don't go overboard at all and am very conscious of not doing so. In fact, I eat very little before the Saturday evening so I don't have to be…

Thank you! The thing is I am scared to up my calories, because I feel if I am only losing 1 lb on 1200 calories (which it looks like I will this week) then surely I will lose even less on more calories?

You say you are a bit gluten intolerant...could you actually be full on coeliac?
-
Haha to this I clicked and I'm 28!

Losing 1/1.5 to 2 lbs a week will not take 3 years. I don't understand why some people on this forum are so aggressive! Chill out!

Don't give up! You have done amazingly! Think how many points you shaved off your bmi; losing that 2 stone has already hugely benefited your health! Seriously. I know it seems daunting because it seems you have such a long way to go but you need to stick at it. Best thing anyone ever said to me is that the time will pass…

Ok it didn't show up, the gist of it is that I managed to save a lot of calories to have my favourite food tonight (curry! - it's an English thing, we love it) and even add some chocolate in there too, all within calories! Go me! lol. I also did a brisk walk for about 1 hr 15 and do feel a bit better. Still mad at the…

Can you see my entire reply? Am on my phone and it seems to have cut off 3/4 of it!

Thanks so much guys for all the support and advice! I have managed not to cave

Hi all, I too have an underactive thyroid, since I was 15 (am now 28). I am on 175 mcg of thyroxine. I have a fair bit of weight to lose and do struggle. I am also REALLY short (5 ft 1)! It is really interesting that you American mfp-ers (I presume most of you are from the US) are talking about having your thyroxine an…

Thanks everyone. Appreciate all your replies. So should I be eating back my exercise calories do we think?
-
Thanks all. I am very careful with weighing everything (obsessively so!). I don't eat back my exercise calories so my net calories will be quite low I imagine. I just think it's a bit unfair. I know it will take time though. I guess I am impatient and wish I could lose weight more quickly... Thanks again.
