@psuLemon schwooo! you just made me feel a lot better! what you said makes perfect sense! i don't know why i always feel like i have to do one or the other & i always stress myself out over it. i keep jumping back & forth, never sticking to something longer than 2 weeks. i buy all low carb stuff & give away my carby foods,…

Ok thanks again everyone for your input! :-). I do understand its CICO to lose, so please don't think I was trying to tick you all off by making you explain that again, lol..:-). Just wondered how you all felt when you ate at different macro levels for the same caloric deficit..I know everyone is different, but its always…

@BobBruff yes!!!! exactly what you said!! i don't feel miserably ravenous on this woe! i can go a lot longer without eating & at the same calorie level. my skin is looking a lot better too. no bumps. you are exactly right about planning. when i feel the most tempted is when i need to do some grocery shopping & tempting…

Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply! Some pretty good suggestions here! :-) I will continue to keto for a bit (thanks for encouraging me to not give up just yet fellow ketoers). I think some of my problem is I automatically set myself up to fail (in my mind) cause I'm so used to giving up after 2 wks on any…

Hey guys...re bbq sauce...try the G Hughes Sugar Free from Walmart...soo good & only 2 g carbs per 2 tbsp serving. I have a boneless pork roast in the crock now that I'm going to shred with the honey bbq sauce & a low carb cole slaw for my side. Yum yum!! ;-)

Hi - I would love to see your progress pics!! Congrats!! It will help me to stay motivated cause right now, I feel like 1-2 lbs a week will take forever to get to goal...which is 70 lbs away

Coffee!! No way no how can I ever give it up!

I love the hearts of red leaf romaine I got from Walmart. Its already washed & so crisp!

yeah i wasn't looking forward to having to measure the veggies/cheese/dressing, etc in my salad or oil for cooking chicken in,etc, but look where not measuring & not caring got me. overweight! you are right...it doesn't take as long as I thought it would to track. its actually pretty interesting to me to figure out how…

Thanks @genmon00 ! I ate low carb/high fat yesterday while watching calories & carbs, & I noticed a BIG difference in my appetite. I wasn't starving all day!!! Woohoo!!! :-)
-
Thanks everyone! :-)
-
Yep, it would be very easy to go over without measuring. I am starting tomorrow!

@motorcyclekopp congrats on hitting your goals ! and in such a short amount of time! thats awesome! and very encouraging! i actually tried low carb around xmas time, but wasn't counting calories or macros & gave up on week 3 because i didn't see the scale moving as fast as i thought it should. well, duh, now i know why it…

Thank you both! I see my question was cut off, haha, sorry! I have done low carb in the past & was successful losing weight without counting calories or carbs. But that was 10 yrs ago & my metabolism isn't what it used to be. Just wondering how many of you watch either? both? & have you done it since the start, or once you…

How long did it take before you started feeling satiated? I actually did try keto for just a short bit & did the bulletproof coffee, but i still felt hungry within a couple hours & gave up thinking i was consuming too many cals. prob didn't give it long enough. do you track your fat intake on here then?
-
Hey low carb/ketoers...do you all watch calories at all? I started watching my calories (not carbs), but I am starving & ready to give up already. I have 70 lbs to lose & if I feel THiS hungry every day, I am not going to last long enough to lose the weight. At the same time, I'm also afraid I'll over eat if I try low carb…

I'm a 40 yr old fatty! I need motivation too. Add me if you'd like
-
Hey everyone! I am 40. I would love to have more friends to motivate me & keep me on track!
-
LOVE this!!! makes me mad at myself for believing the hype & trying many of these, only to fail every time! oh the time i have wasted!!!
-
lol yep! usually after we've gone on our walk, he's ready for his afternoon nap. well, actually, two times he wore himself out while on the actual walk, enough that he fell asleep while i held him coming back. my arms were so weak & jello-y by the time i reached the house ;-)
-
Agreed! 1 lb per week (1350 calories) sounds more appealing to me. Congrats on your awesome progress!!! Gives me hope! :-)
-
Heheheee :-)
-
Thank you so much for your advice!! 1350 sounds a lot more doable than 1200 to start. I was walking with him every day for about a week, then stopped due to weather, but wow, what a difference a walk & fresh air can do! I felt wonderful that I was actually getting up & out of the house & doing something good for myself…
-
Thanks! Very good advice! :-)
-
Ohh good idea!! I would love to know how many steps I do walking up & down basement steps carrying laundry, back & forth to the kitchen (preparing food for 3 kids total), etc, even grocery shopping. I'm sure it all adds up to something! and yep, it def needs to feel sustainable!
-
Yes!! 1200 is so few to work with!

Have you considered a carrier so you can go for long walks with him on your back? My sons 18lb i front carry him every day in a connecta and when i hike on weekends he goes on my back in a wrapahula [/quote] You know what...we do have one! We got it years back for our other 2. Forgot we had it! Gonna have to break it out…
