Derek, that's the key. Don't sweat a bad day or even a bad week. Stay steady and you can always bounce back.

Start gently and ease into it. Start with a reasonable calorie limit. It's all about diet. Exercise just makes you healthier in general. Walk every day if you want true exercise. Don't sweat plateaus or a slow start it's natural. I lost four pounds the first four months, after that it was faster.

Sharon, thanks so much, Aussie girl! It took me several years to get motivated then three months changing my ways - I only lost four pounds but it set me up for success. It's all consistency.

I never count exercise calories against my daily calorie limit. It leads to a false sense of security. I would say weight loss is 95% diet. Exercise makes you healthier though.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Do your best and forgive yourself a few slip ups. It takes a long time to catch the rhythm of losing. It's a marathon not a sprint.
