amazing!

I hear you! Keep counting and trust the process. Other things can for sure help, but calories counting alone (staying at deficit) WILL get you there eventually!

When I turned 40 and felt so old and tired. Now a couple months later, down 30 pounds (many more to go), I already feel sooooo much better!

Fantastic!

Avoid the sun and moisturize!

And..... Re-reading your answers, I decided to stop focusing sooooo much on the scale and weigh myself once a week instead of once a day, and to increase my calories by a couple hundreds (1500-1600). If I can still lose 1.5 to 2 pounds a week eating more,, I'd be stupid not to do it! Thanks again!

Thanks Ann! Nine buffer, is RMR the same as BMR? For my current size and activity level, what would you suggest as an acceptable deficit?

Yay for strong womens!!! I'm absolutely not there yet, but I've been there before, lifting weights and looking damn good! So I'm going back to it soon. Give me a year and I'll post MY pictures! ((I used to weight 119 pounds, no muscles, undereating, and wear a size 11. Then, after lots of lifting and eating enough, I got…

Thanks MsCzar! Interesting to read diverse experiences. I do intend to slow down my weight loss when I get to a "normal" weight. I understand this current rate is not sustainabl, even if I wish so.... So I'm thinking the smart way to do it would be a deficit for a loss of 2+ pounds now until 180, then 1.5 until 165, then 1…

To get down under 200 pounds. Only 26 more to go before then! Not a "small" goal I guess, but this girl is on fire!!!

Ok, good to know. Thanks!

I have elevated liver enzymes, and not one of those symptoms. I doubt it's related. I would also be looking at this from a neurologic point of view. Go back to the md, or ask for a new one. You deserve answers/testing!!

Thanks!

Wunderkindkind, not sure I understand your last phrase. For sure, I totally get that my deficit will get smaller as I myself get smaller, so less weight loss with the same amount eaten because of reduction of TDEE. But why would/could it "whack me in the face"?
-
Thanks Ann, good thoughts. I tend to be "go big or go home!", and this can easily backfire. So, yes, maybe I need to slow it down a bit with a smaller deficit.... I'll admit that I'm liking this -0.5 almost every day a little too much....... Open to more opinions though!

My 11yo daughter has a heart condition. I can't wait for her age group to be approved for vaccination!! The whole family takes the flu vaccine yearly too, for the same reason: to protect her.

I did Keto and now I'm just counting calories and eating of everything. For me the rate for losses was the same. But Keto was haaaaard, now it's much easier for me to just stick to calories.

If you can get your hands on Turbofire, it's pretty intense and fun! And there's a modified version to follow too. But it's hard to find now

I started at 243, 5'5 woman, and 26 days later I'm at 227. So it's a lost of 7.2 kilos. My deficit is intense (1500+ per day). I'm bigger than you and shorter, my deficit is high, yet I lost "only" 3 kilos more than you. It's all about perspective. If I still lose 4 kilos/month when I'm down to 206, I'll be very very…

Not so hard putting nail polish on my toenails this morning :)

""There's also the possibility that TO had an antibody test at a certain time and her gp wants to prevent future problems. We don't know."" No antibody testing. No Hashimoto or anything like it. Just a classic lowered thyroid function discover during pregnancy 10 years ago. Anyways thanks for all the answers!

I'm treating the holidays as normal days. So I will be sticking to my caloric goal and working out daily. I've struggled with binge eating my whole life and I'm now dealing with a heart condition, which is my first motivation to lose the weight. It's going very well at the moment, I really don't want to jinx myself.

I count calories, not macros. I don't eat sweets because it triggers my appetite. I lowered my salt intake for a heart condition. I avoid gluten for the same reason. I don't drink alcohol because I hate it. I make sure to have veggies and solid sources of proteins at each meal (for me this equate meat). And I do…

Nice! Maybe the extra food is actually giving you more energy, so unconsciously you are expending more energy in return. I do believe in CICO, so I'm not sure how we could lose weight by eating more, yet it happened to me too before. And right now I feel better having bumped my calories at 1600 from 1400, and my clothes…

""You might need less, but 50mcg is not really a high dose. To be honest, the dose to treat hypo is as per the notes in my package at least 100mcg"" Hmm... interesting! I am taking a really low dose, and my blood works are fine on it, so I'm wondering if I even need it....! I'll have to chat with the doctor

"Intuitive eating" brought me all the way up to 253 pounds so, yeah.... No-go for me. I wish.

I've had a disordered relationship with the scale and food in general all my life, losing weight, gaining weight, losing weight, gaining weight.... So, yeah, I relate. The number on the scale is an indicator of my success or failure as a human being.... Ridiculous! So I'm done with it. DONE!! I've asked a friend to store…

I've decided to let the scale go (the one weighing my body, not the food one). I'm so tired of letting the number define my worth and success/failure! So I'm done. I'll just focus on my diet plan (that I upped at 1600 btw, since I'm aiming at global health and not necessarily fast weight loss), and go with clothes fitting…
