  • Hi again folks. Just thought I'd report in on how it's going so far. My birthday and my son's birthday have now passed. Just my daughter's birthday to go in 3 weeks. I have walked most days and I had one day when I went over my calorie goal (which is still set to loss) by about 200 calories, I think. Oddly, the day I went…
  • Thank you for those that responded, and especially those who have responded with a bit of "tough love" - it's not being heartless, it's truth and reminding me that I'm still in control of how I respond and prepare for things. Despite the lagging enthusiasm, I have still maintained my exercise regime (which, so far is still…
  • I understand the getting really low after eating part. I used to gorge myself of ferrero roche chocolate - HEAPS of it. And afterwards I felt so trapped and upset with myself. I just concentrated on changing one small thing at a time to try to climb out of that habit. I don't know any easy solutions, but I hope it helps to…
  • I've done the same. This will be the third time I've sought to lose weight (after having lost significant amounts before). Ugh. It seems I do great until a significant life event happens (new relationship, babies, grief). But the last time I did this I used this app, so I know I can do it. Good luck Steph! You got this 🙂
  • Welcome back! I'm also back after some time away having two babies and eating waaay too much chocolate. 😂
  • I'm not going through a current episode of depression, but I do understand comfort eating and the huge hit motivation can take when I am very low. Maybe it would help to think of it as "eating to be stronger" rather than "dieting". You're fueling your body to fight back against the depression.
  • I was diagnosed with PCOS at 26 after years of not having periods at all. I was told I simply wouldn't be able to conceive naturally. We accepted that and got on with life (I didn't want the emotional ups and downs of fertility treatments). Then, when I was 35 I conceived naturally after losing about 20kg. My doctors and…
  • Me too, although I've only recently realised it (my cycle has never been regular, so it's hard to predict/ notice a pattern). For me it's massive cravings for cake and ice cream.
  • Wowsers! That's a massive difference - it's definitely working! Sometimes we're too close to see it in ourselves, but your wife is absolutely right. Congrats on all your hard work so far - keep it up!
  • I don't think that's trivial at all - that's fabulous!

  • Best. Response. Ever! My hubby and I cracked up at that.
  • I have been struggling majorly to get some consistency. I tend to fail after four days. Every. Time. So, my goal isn't just mini - it's teeny - but it is to nail ten consecutive days of tracking, staying under my calorie goals and being active in some way. Hopefully that will help to lay the foundation for the bigger…
  • Great job!! You look like a different person! Good luck with your next stage
  • Wowsers! You're making fabulous progress! Good on you and thank you for sharing - very inspiring!
  • Welcome!! I think @mumblemagic and @woznube7 are right on the money in terms of advice to get started, so I don't think I can add much other than to say that even the smallest steps are a start toward your goal, treat yourself with kindness and let go of what was. I've always found MFP people to be very positive and…
  • @emilyCPA I just have to say how totally gobsmacked I am after reading your original post and then seeing your update today. Truly courageous and inspiring. You look absolutely gorgeous, good on you!!
  • I know what it's like to lose a significant amount of weight, then gain it back. It's pretty discouraging. I lost around 35kg a few years back, but gained it all back. And for ages I couldn't forgive myself, but that actually got in the way of making progress (I was too focused on what I was instead of moving forward).…
  • Welcome back! I'm just returning too after about a month off, so keen to get back into it. I'm a Kiwi cuzzie ;)
  • Hee :# hee, I like your profile pic
  • Hi there! I'm just coming back to MFP after some time away and also need some more friends to help keep be on track. I've always been really impressed with how positive and encouraging people are on the forums - some really lovely people out there. All the best with your journey too!
  • @StacyChrz I'm a PCOS gal too! I was just complaining about it in another thread the other day, haha.
  • Wow, awesome stuff! Good on you!
  • Fabulous progress! That support makes all the difference. I'm also very fortunate to have a lovely husband. Whatever size I am, he's always complimented me and tried to make me feel beautiful. He makes me healthy lunch every day and cooks me healthy dinners most nights too. I'm very thankful! Definitely thankful for my…
  • @Amandalowe992013 Thanks for that! PCOS is such a weird condition. Seems it has a range of severity, but how bad the symptoms are don't necessarily indicate fertility. My symptoms are insulin resistance, overweight (I carry my weight in my belly especially) and my ovaries look like they're wrapped in bubble wrap. Skin…
  • I'm another PCOS person... And I'm 36. Sorry if this is a personal question- Just wondering how many of you successfully fell pregnant after losing weight? I'm at the start of my journey (in terms of weight loss) but my doctor gave me the impression that pregnancy was unlikely, partially because of the PCOS and partially…
  • Really?! I have a hump from heavy boobs/ poor posture (head always down, trying to be invisible) / obesity. I just assumed that the damage is done and I'd always have it, but reading this has given me some hope!
  • Good on you for taking charge of your health like that! Well done!!
  • Greetings! Welcome back to MFP. This is my first go with MFP, been on it about three weeks. Love it so far. Everyone is so lovely and supportive. Well done on your progress so far!
  • Hey fellow kiwis! I'm back in the homeland though...
  • @120poundstogo that's an incredible difference to your face! Amazing! @raisingcropsandkids I can definitely see a difference, keep it up!
