I'm 5'6 and 180lb. I started last year at 188lb and after about 8 mos lost 21lb (got down to 167). But things happen, life changes and I did not keep up with it. I'm now back to 180 and trying to get down to 155-160 permanently. I am a size 10/12 in pants and a size medium/large in shirts depending on brand (I wear my…

Side note: I'm not doing ONLY strength training. Instead of just doing an hour of cardio, I've started doing 30 min of cardio and 30 min of weights.

For ice cream, try Arctic Zero brownie blast flavor. It's dairy free and honestly pretty good. It's got dark chocolate chips in it too. All of their ice cream is dairy free so you could try it.

I do because I am trying to lose weight, and this is what has worked for me in the past.
-
I had literally the exact same issue, although I don't have medical knee issues. All I can say is start logging and get back to the gym. No excuses. You want it bad enough you will work for it.

I'm 5'6" 179lb and I can wear anywhere between 8-12. I have HUGE thighs and a smaller waist which makes it hard to find pants that fit, and also explains the deviation in pants size.

I meant to put "by calorie counting" in the title... not just "eating healthy". Sorry for the mixup.
-
Doesn't MFP automatically put in the deficit? So by eating 1490 cal I will be at a deficit?
-
When I say "trying" I mean that 99% of the time I do not eat them back, but occasionally I do if I am extra hungry from working out, etc.
-
Yes always!! That is how I lost the 21lbs before
-
No I honestly don't know what is was before, but I did get the charge HR so I guess it is pretty accurate then.
-
Got the charge HR, thanks guys!

I fully understand this, and I used to always make my food and everything but I have not been able to lately. I'm going to get back on it and stop eating out so much, hopefully this will help.

I weigh everything I put in my mouth. I know a lot of people say that.. but I mean it. Down to the lettuce I use for salads. I'm very meticulous about it which is why I'm confused. If I set it to .5/week I will not lose any weight bc I'm not losing weight now at even fewer calories.

About a month. I went on vacation and gained some back, then got back and lost some and then gained some. Kinda been all over the place.
-
Yes, I use a food scale for literally everything I eat. Even down to the carrots and tomatoes I cut up to put on salad. I'm very meticulous about it which is why I'm confused the weight loss has stopped.

19 y/o, 172lb, 5'6". Trying to get to 160lb.
-
Update: The scale I was using was pretty old, so I bought and new one and there was about a 5lb difference. Lol!!

I have had it set on Active for the first 3 months on here and have lost 15pb, but the past few weeks my weight has been going up for some reason even though I am eating very well and still at the gym the same amount.

I do have a desk job but I only work part time about 20 hours a week, other than that I am usually on the move out running errands etc
-
But it hasn't been a pound a week. Some times it'll be 2 pounds, sometimes a half a pound, sometimes nothing. It hasn't been moving lately at all.
-
about 14 weeks
-
I've lost 14-15lb so far

I weigh literally everything down to the tomatoes and carrots I chop up to put on salad. I am 14lb from my current goal of 160 (I'm 5'6") and then once I reach that goal I was going to go for 150 since I know this will be much harder to get to. I adjusted my calories just the other day but didn't change much.
-
I have been on a diet for about 4 months now and lost about 14lb. I work out 5-6 days a week and rarely ever go over calories but I do eat some back after the gym because I do a lot of cardio and am always starving when I get done. I went on vacation for a week so this is the first real week back to the gym. I hope that is…
-
just did
-
I do weigh everything! I guess I meant that the rate of weight loss and calorie goal is not always exact to what the actual results are.
-
Losing about a pound each week

If you like ice cream, try Arctic Zero. Kind of expensive ($5/pint) but most of them are about 300 cal/pint. They are gluten free, some are lactose free, and are pretty good. I usually get the brownie blast one which has dark chocolate chips in it and tastes really good. You can find them at Walmart or target or meijer.…

I'm 19. 173lb right now & 5'6". I want to get to 160 first and foremost and then once I get there then I want to get down to 150.
