Calorie Goal

So right now I am at a 1510 cal/day goal. That means I should be losing 2lb/week, but I am only losing about 1lb/week. I'm only about 13lb from my goal weight now so would it be safe to move my goal to 1.5/lb per week which would set me at 1720 cal/day? I don't want to be losing less than a pound per week. But I feel like if I up my calories I will lose less quickly given that I am losing at a slower pace than projected already. Just curious!!

I'd change it to 0.5 per week, with such a small amount to lose. Those last few are the hardest.

Make sure you're weighing all your foods with a kitchen scale, since you have less room for error now. Good luck and congrats on being so close to goal!

What are your stats? That's a pretty high goal for only wanting to lose thirteen pounds.

I agree with hollyrayburn. When I got to 15 left to lose I changed my goal to .5. Just make sure you are weighing your food since 250 is a small deficit.

I bet mfp has already set you up for a pound a week because that's the recommended limit...that's what it did to me when I tried to set it for two.

It still has me set for 2lb/week. I have already lost 14lb which is why my goal weight is getting closer.

Change it to 0.5 pounds a week, seriously. Being as you are so close to your goal weight, that is way too big of a deficit.

Don't be so impatient. First off, weight loss is a science, yes, but not an exact one. Also, the slower the weight comes off, especially with so little to lose, the better.

If you set yourself to lose two pounds, already being in a health BMI range, you'll have a VLCD(very large calorie deficit), which is not only hard to deal with, what with how little you eat, but your body won't be happy with you, because it's not getting the fuel it needs.

You are getting closer to goal weight so should be aiming for 0.5-1lb max loss per week.
