I'm 27 and Pokemon was a huge part of my childhood as well (see: house full of Pikachus). That's why I play the game. A lot of people have jumped on the bandwagon, not even knowing what Pokemon is. They are just playing because it's popular. Then there are people who think it's stupid because they don't understand what…

If you rinse the rice a couple times before cooking it will reduce the stickiness and starchiness...

Definitely would rather have loose skin than be morbidly obese. I am just asking to be prepared. Thanks for the info and congrats on all the hard work!

That's my plan too, but I'm asking just to be prepared. I would much rather have loose skin than be morbidly obese.

Agreed. I will probably wear a lot of shape wear if insurance doesn't cover the surgery lol. Congrats on the achievement, btw!
-
Thanks for the insight! I will look into it when I get to that point lol
-
Oh yes, I was curious about the insurance part too. What do you need to do to get that covered? I'm sure it depends on the type of insurance you have to but I just wanted to know in general to be prepared. Thanks for the insight!

I don't unless I'm really hungry afterwards

My goal is 140 from 280. I've only lost 10 so far so no progress photos yet, but would love to see others!
-
Go by the scale as its more accurate. I would only go by cups of I wasn't able to weight my food.
-
You look like a normal weight to me. I agree you should do strength training (like lifting weights, sit ups, thigh exercises, etc). I'm sure others can give better advice on what kind of strength training you can start with.

I'm kind of on the same boat. It's been 3.5 weeks for me and I'm down about 10lbs. Honestly, I wish it was a little faster but I know 2lbs a week is good progress. My weight fluctuates a lot so that doesn't really help me feel better when I'm holding onto more water weight. However, after reading many posts and success…

Not much since I'm starting out. Probably around $50. If I wanted to I could invest in a better one in the future. Right now I'm doing DDR (dance game) and I get pretty exhausted after 30 min so I'm wondering how many cals i'm actually burning. Planning to work my way up to elliptical then running. I have a step counter…
-
Wait, eggs are considered expensive? I lol'd when you said "because i ain't rich." I got a dozen eggs on sale for $1 the other day..maybe I should've bought more.
-
I can only do 30 min of DDR right now because I play on med/hard. 1-2 hours is a long time! I wonder how many calories it really burns.
-
If you're just starting to exercise I think it would be a great motivation. I just got Wii boxing (even though no one plays this anymore probably). And my arms got so tired airpunching. It was a lot of fun.

Thanks for sharing. Losing 100 lbs is no easy feat. You're almost there!
-
If you can lose 100 lbs you can lose the last 5 :) Which HRM do you use? I was thinking of getting one but afraid it won't fit me :/
-
I think once you feel comfortable with yourself you'll know when to stop :)
-
Congrats! I'm hoping for the same!
-
Amazing, keep it up! I also log a day in advance usually. I like to have a plan. Did you do anything else that helped other than prelogging?
-
Whatever works for you! I am not planning to log forever either, but we'll see what happens. Congrats on the loss so far!
-
@FlakeyMusician mentioned that he weighed 400lbs and was prescribed a very low calorie diet so I'm assuming a doctor told him it was okay to do this? Amazing, congrats! That's exactly how much I need to lose. Seems kind of fast to lose 140 lbs in 1.5 years? What kind of exercises did you do?
-
That's what I'm planning to do, but also hoping that it will be a little bit quicker because I weigh so much currently. We can do it!
-
Awesome. You're so close!!
-
I'm planning to take a similar approach to yours. But I'm also hoping that I will be able to learn to eyeball portions when I'm in maintenance. Congrats on the loss!
-
Yes, at least you stopped. It took me over 80 lbs to stop lol.. You've done it before and you can do it again!
-
Awesome! Going to read your story now.
-
You gotta do what you gotta do! I am hoping I would have learned enough to be able to eyeball portions when I reach my goal weight (which will probably take 3 or so years). Was the 13 months to lose 100lbs? the first 100lbs? And then 4 more years to lose the remaining? Were you taking it easier in the last 4 years or did…

Glad you're here to tell your story!
