  • Thanks for all those tips. I definitely feel like it is indeed the protein powder. I stopped taking it for a few days and I just started to feel way better yesterday. I will be either switching to a Vegan protein powder or try a Whey Isolate. Good luck with your lifting as well. :)
  • I was initially just going to focus on 5x5 lifts but I get very confused as there's too much information out there.. it almost gets overwhelming to stick to one program especially if you have specific physical goals. For example, I want to be able to gain upper body strength to do full pull-ups and I see the assisted pull…
  • That was a very good reply! Thanks for that. 1-regarding the TDEE, you mentioned that you chose light exercise. For my measurements, my TDEE with light exercise is about ~1940 calories. If I choose Sedentary, it's ~1700 calories. For the past few months, my average total calories is ~ 1700. (Not considering any workouts or…
  • Wow, thank you so much for the detailed reply. This is helpful for sure. As I mentioned replying to @kimny72, I am jusy worried about strength gain because people always stress that progressive overload is the way to go and that it is recommended to lift heavier every week/2 weeks and I am not there yet. But I guess I need…
  • Well I thought my weight go down because I am eating same calorie but I am increasing my activity level. I was doing no exercise what so ever before and even walking was very limited. I relied on counting calories to lose the +20 kg I lost over the past few years. I do spend an average of 120 minutes in the gym for the…
  • Thank you so much for the suggestions. I love lentils and i usually cook it with rice and it is so delicious. I never ate it in large quantities tho. But i will start to. Also chickpeas seem to have good amount of protein. So i will incorporate this into my diet more. I am not a big fan of beans on their own. I had weird…
  • I will look into the thread. I've been actually thinking about my protein intake since yesterday. I honestly struggle so much getting enough protein and I was thinking that it is something I will have to think about since If I am going to do recomp, I will have to get to my protein goal somehow. I was struggling even 3…
  • I will definitely try this :D. Brussels sprouts and broccoli aren't really a thing in my home country and when I moved, I tried to cook them but I just failed and never tried again. I like roasted veggies although I do a similar recipe with potatoes and bell peppers but potatoes are higher in calories than broccoli or…
  • That is true. I do remember struggling with hunger when I started my journey 3 years ago. Although it was a bit different then. Thanks for your reply!
  • That is very True. I know I personally have a high-fat percentage just by looking at my body even though I am at healthy weight.. So I figure recomp will be my best option to gain some muscles and lower fat percentage.. Thank you so much for your reply! I wish you the best :).
  • Thanks for your recommendation. I will start to look into recomp and upped my calories to wat at maintenance for the moment.
  • Thank you so much for your kind words. It means alot. I wish you the best. :)
  • Recmop does indeed sound like my best option. I certainly feel like I will benefit from that in terms of body composition. My initial plan was to lose a few more lbs and then maybe add more weight via weight training +small surplus. But it feels like my body is struggling to lose those last few lbs. I upped my calorie…
  • Thanks for your comment. This would definitely work if i want to keep my 1600. :)
  • I don't hate exercise for sure. And i would say I actually like it physically. My issue with exercise is just the practicality of going to the gym. Mainly (these may sound like excuses, so apologies for that) : 1- I didn't go the gym that much in my life. But the times I went, i didn't like being surrounded by people while…
  • I do use food scale. However, i have to be honest with myself in admitting that I am not as precise as I used to be with measuring everything I eat. But this is mainly because I kinda got a little discouraged after reachinf my goal and not seeing actual results rather on the scale. Like I still wear the exact same sizes, I…
  • Thanks you so much for the suggestion. I will check the forum and try to adjust my plans. I guess my initial fear of recomp is not knowing how to check progress and how long would it take to see results. With cutting and then maybe bulking.. The scales will move. It is usually easy to also know when you expect to see…
  • In the next few days i might not keep up with th thread because i am getting married on Thursday. But i will be reading all replies for sure. So thanks to everyone that posted and will post and advice. I appreciate your help
  • The problem with option A is that there is no way to "focus on losing fat from thighs". You cannot spot reduce so if you keep losing weight, you'll lose it from where you are genetically predisposed to lose it from. You may find that your upper body becomes quite lean and that your thighs are still carrying too much fat…
  • Yeah, it does make more sense to me to cut more. I just need to deal with my emotions regarding how i am gonna look if i keep cutting... Thanks for your reply and advice
  • Unfortunately, i have no measurements from before, i had some pics before, but my phone was stolen and i didn't backup those photos. So right now i can't even compare how i look versus before. But before my phone was stolen i had a few pics taken over a period of 4 months. And i did notice a huge difference in my upper…
  • Yeah. From your profile pic, your shape is definitely like mine although i am like having no fat in my upper body and smaller waist and bigger hips than yours. It's like i have a ball of fat on my thighs.. Lol.. Very awkward looking. I still don't know what's the benefits of recomp against bulking?
  • Thank you so much for your reply and advice.. I appreciate it, i will check those links especially for following a weight lifting program. I used to life but i get discourged easily if i don't see results in a few months and tbh i don't know how long should i be lifting to get an actual result in terms of muscle…
  • It is not a brand, it is from a local bakery :)
  • Thank you everyone for your replies. very helpful :)
  • Thank you for your reply :)
  • I do some strength training. I do because i enjoy it. But i don't know if it actually helped me. I guess i am too hard on myself so i don't notice minor changes that easily. I wasn't convinced i lost weight until i was over 15 kg down.. Everyone kept telling me you've lost weight and i honestly didn't see it.
  • My bf thinks the same. The problem is that i just worked so hard so i was expecting to reach my non scale goal..
  • Thank you :)
  • I promised to update this thread. :D i did as i said. took a 2 week break. Didn't gain any weight during those 2 weeks. but i didn't lose any weight either. it's been another 2 weeks now since i started dieting again. i am down almost 1.5 kg. i am happy with the outcome. this loss could also be due the fact that my…
