Bob I'm glad you have such balanced views to share with us.

LCHF can be useful to OP under certain circumstances. It is worth a try, IMO. When I first came to the boards, I didn't know anything about macros until I thankfully saw people posting on MFP about how lowering carbs helped them to lose weight.

Nice going getting right back on track and losing so quickly before it got established. Nice turnaround!

You have kept 65 pounds off of your original weight, and that is no small task. Obviously you are not weak because at one point you got down to 285 pounds. Since you are tall that weight probably felt good. That took an incredible amount of strength and determination! I think it is terrific that you quit drinking and are…

Now I'm sad. :'( ...and worried. What happened?

Whatever works best for you! If you were going to eat fast food anyhow, then kudos on managing the calories and losing weight. Calories are King

Beef stew is comfort food this time of year.

I've never had an ugli fruit. Yours reminds me of orange sections.

The photos are gorgeous. My kind of favorite meal! Yummy. Meat, potatoes, and green veggie is how I ate growing up. I love ice cream but have cut that down to a few times a year rather than regularly. It can trigger a desire for sweets for me. But I could probably do a frozen yogurt with berries as the protein makes it…

I'm glad that you are taking care of yourself. Diligence is key.

I saw your posts on the Introduce Yourself thread, but I don't think you told us a nickname. Do you go by Daj? It is good that you are making positive changes.

I'll check out Dr. Goldhamer. I do think that there is something to this. This year I want to heal the insulin resistance with OMAD, cut out sweets and refined carbs along with losing weight. I was just reading something else about type 2 diabetes and how it slowly progresses over time. I want to keep that from happening…

Thanks for the encouraging words. It might happen!

You only have 13 pounds to lose, so you need less calories and will lose slower this go round. Sometimes people do all the right things and water retention masks the fat loss. Hang in there to see-- It hasn't been long enough to tell yet. You might only lose an average of 0.5 pound a week. Be patient and recalculate your…

Recomp could help you. I did that at the end of summer/early fall and saw muscles tighten up and tummy flatten. You don't need to lose weight, but it sounds like you don't like the shape you are in.

I just started SAM-e (OTC) which helps with neurotransmitters, blood sugar regulation and mild depression (not recommended for manic depressive though). I just started it and am seeing some promising results. It is safe but be careful if anyone is taking antidepressants because it will increase the effects. So see a…

This is the dilemma that I am faced with. Before starting OMAD, I was doing 17:7 ( 2MAD) intermittent fasting comfortably and ate no snacks in between the 2 meals (11 am brunch and 6 pm dinner). I found that eating a light low carb lunch like a salad with grilled chicken, for instance, and a small family dinner with a…

I agree with this. I don't like feeling stuffed and icky either. When I was at a slimmer weight I was a really good intuitive eater and "knew" when I had eaten just right. I had a body with a good "set point" that faithfully steered me. I knew how to work with my body and read those signals telling me to eat less or more.…

I have some Leslie Sansone DVD which are basically indoor walking. There are usually some YouTube videos of her to check out.

Thanks! It's nice for accountability to do this together.

I picked up a "Biggest Loser" yoga DVD yesterday. It is about 6 weeks or so and advances in difficulty. I do need to stretch.

At least this time you will get more support at work.

Hi Danica! (Pretty name)-- great start and welcome to the group!

I've never actually made it past 24 hours or so. My body doesn't do well on longer fasts.

I always feel great after consuming baked salmon. Yum.

I've added vitamin D3 as well. Thanks for the link!

I had a baby boy when my first two boys were 15 and 17 years old.

800 calories a day is not healthy or sustainable. The reason MFP recommends 1200 calories minimum is because one can have difficulty getting all of the nutrients one needs under that amount without doctor's supervision. If you go too low you can become depleted at some point and get very tired. You need enough calories to…

Thank you so much. I've had sleep issues for a long time. Cortisol and stress do impact me. I plan to do the stretching exercises.

I had the brain fog and dull headache for a while. Han in there. It will pass.
