  • I *think* that it increases your metabolism, so you are naturally more hungry from that. I've also found this to be true....
  • I don't know if it causes a lighter period, but it certainly changes your period!
  • 36yrs. old 5'4" 141.2lbs. female I'm on 1360cal/day.
  • Hi! Welcome!! I have not tried carb cycling, but if it's something you are interested in and feel good about, why not give it a try?! Good luck - keep us updated if you love it or find that it works well (hopefully both)!
  • Ok - I'm just reading this now, but it's Friday. Woohoo! We made it through the week. Hope it was a great one for you!! <3 <3 <3
  • I think if it feels too restrictive, then you need to just go with your initial plan. It was working for you - and congrats on reaching that first goal! How awesome!! Don't put too much pressure on yourself. You ARE doing this and it sounds like you're doing it well!! So, all that to say that I would keep doing what worked…
  • I'm an anti-stevia and anti-sweetner person. It just doesn't make me feel good. I'm supportive of people that can use it and feel fine, but it's just not for me. I get headaches too, so I completely understand @whitpauly - but you are right, I'm thinking we are in the minority.....
  • Yes - they have gone insane. It's ridiculous, I had to leave them after 6 straight weeks of gaining weight and following the program. Cheers to MFP for helping me be accountable!
  • Hydration and rest - exactly what @mabearof6 said! Don't push yourself too quickly, or you won't end-up recovering and be down even longer!
  • What you are currently doing sounds great, @Jayz395 I think just watching your total intake, focusing on making good choices, and getting in movement whenever you can will work. Your food choices need to be your own and what works for you, otherwise it's a diet and that quickly will shift your work from a lifestyle change…

  • I'm up this week, but there was some emotional eating that went on last week so it was expected! I'm drinking that water and back on track though!! Awesome job at being so close to your first goal @SgtKINN3Y :)
  • Sometimes the body is slow to show weight loss and weight gain. Just be patient. I'd recommend a full month on the program and then re-evaluate if you aren't satisfied with your results.
  • This is so great, CONGRATS! <3
  • I'm a former ultra runner and the water retention is a real thing. Not only would I ask if you are eating enough, but I'd ask if you are drinking enough (both water and sports drinks)? Be patient with yourself and make sure that you aren't hitting the carbs too heavy - this was an issue for me and sort of a bad cycle that…
  • Yep, total calories burned!
  • I think @quiksylver296 gave you a great suggestion! I hope it works out for you!!
  • How about a little yoga? There are so many poses that can stretch and reset your mind......try searching for a yin yoga class (in person or online). Wishing you a speedy recovery!

  • I wish I had more insight to offer you: I use Garmin, but I see that's not on your list. Happy shopping for that new watch!
  • I usually bank some of mine for the weekend - it gives me a little freedom to enjoy a special treat but still stay in weight loss mode.
  • I'm thinking walking would be the best approximation? I suppose it depends on your heart rate. If you can monitor your heart rate during the exercise and then find an activity during which your heart rate would be at about the same level, you'd have a good approximation.
  • I've lost weight with Prozac, because it helps me from binge eating. When my mind is right, I can put energy into my diet, fitness, and overall health. I've tried to stop taking Prozac to see if it would help with weight loss, but it made it worse. This is just my experience and I'm wishing you all the best!!!
  • Yep, I'm an option #1 girl! Sometime I try to say that whatever I burn is what I get for dessert that day. Meaning if I burn 144cal in a workout, that's my budget for dessert. If I don't burn, I don't get dessert. Lol - silly, but it works for me!
  • Well, hi! I'm a former WW: the new plan was causing me to gain weight. Ok, well how I was working the new plan was causing me to gain weight. I need more accountability and the addition of free foods just allowed my mind to think I could eat as much of them as I wanted......NOT healthy for me.
  • Thank you so much for your fantastic post. I left WW yesterday and am feeling sad and disappointed in myself. Did I make the right decision? Am I giving up on myself? BUT, I can't continue to pay for a program that I'm gaining weight on. I was eating so much every day because it was free, and it was counterproductive for…
  • I'm here too! I just am tired of gaining weight with the new WW plan. I am a person that needs to be accountable for EVERYTHING I eat. WW worked for me prior to the plan switch, but I've done nothing but gain weight now that so many foods are free. Clearly I'm over eating those free foods, but I'm scared to leave WW behind…
  • I just quit WW because of their Freestyle program. I love connect, but I found myself eating way too many free foods and gaining weight. I'm worried about the quality of my food and like how WW helped me to track that, but I can't pay for something that's only helping me to gain weight, when my goal is a loss.
