I am not sure what you consider to be "healthy" food, processed foods of any kind is not "healthy."

Happy New Year, I don't do resolutions but I am going to put together a vision board of things I wish to accomplish this year. One of which is to keep being physically active.

This is an area of weakness, I am in.

No processed food what so ever, plant-based, no dairy or any animal products. No added oil. It has not only helped me lose weight to an extent but has helped control some health issues that were very bad 6 months ago before I made this change. I don't crave sweets as much as I used too either or any really high fat food…

Sending you good thoughts of support for the New Year ! <3

Not a lot of food for breakfast no wonder you are hungry. I used to eat like that then snack at 10:00 am every day. I would eat more high density low fat calories. I eat hash browns (homemade) from sweet potatoes or yukon golds cooked in water with spinach, holds me over until noon when I get legitimately hungry. I sit at…

I have diverticulosis - http://patients.gi.org/topics/diverticulosis-and-diverticulitis/ and my doctor put me on a high fiber/low fat diet. I eat a lot of grains, potatoes and beans along with a ton of green vegetables, not processed foods or oils. It does help a lot. Glucomanan is a root that you can buy in pill form,…

lol! yep all of these! but here are mine: -people who wait ON the machines - OH MY God - I hate this, especially last week, I limit myself to 30 minutes per cardio machine to be courteous to others and there is always that one ahole who will STARE at me and look at how many minutes I have left. Since I am older, this…

sigh, my belly is still big but my butt is getting smaller. Trade ya.

yay! great for you, you look amazing. I am going to cut out wine during the week, just on weekends only going forward. I want to get these last 12 pounds off!

"I eat a whole foods, plant based diet and do not eat oil" In all fairness, this happens outside of this site too, especially at work when people ask me how I lost weight. When I tell them, the angry disagreements ensue.

I eat all types of potatoes sweet, purple, red, yellow and white, the diet industry, a lot of it isn't based on actual science but fads and misinformation. It is the toppings that kill you. I don't use dairy or oil. I put pinto beans, spinach, salsa on mine or plain low sodium soy sauce, they are filling and lowfat.

You are actually on to something. I "eat" my fiber, lot's of greens, apples, whole grains like brown rice, quinoa and beans. I feel fuller longer. Also, my doctor told me that Glucomana which is a fiber supplement made from sweet potatoes half an hour before meals helps with satiety. The brand I use has 0 sugar. I don't…

at the risk of getting another angry meat rager stalking me on email telling me that Dr. Esselstyn is an idiot while - I am going to recommend you look at www.nutritionfacts.org, author of "How not to Die", the web site "forks over knives" by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn who has been treating heart patients for 45 years and has…

I am a whole foods plant based eater following the McDougall and Forks over Knives way of eating, add me if you want support. I have been eating this way for five months for health reasons first and then other reasons as I do discovery. I am feeling a lot better and while I wasn't on MFP for a bit, I have lost a total of…

Situational depression is very real. I had it 10 years ago and sought CBT for it and it definitely helped. I changed to a plant based diet five months ago and I rarely get depression now, also exercise really does help to manage stress levels that are sometimes brought on by situations in life.

Carbs - beans, peas, lentils, corn, whole unrefined grains are healthy high carb foods, any food made in nature that is a starch. Don't eat processed carbs. Fat - nuts, avocado, olive oil - (if you want to gain weight, eat these every day)

Around 1200 calories depending on how active I am is usually enough. I am over 50 and mfp recommended 1200 calories for my age, height and amount I need to lose which is 30 lbs. It's taken 8 months to lose 16 so I am sure I am not starving to death.

What he said. spot on. I make Ramen noodles once in a rare moon like when I have a cold - but I use low sodium vegetarian broth and add a ton of vegetables and a lot of kale. NO on the cup o noodles ramen, msg, chemicals galore and tons of sodium. Not one shred of whole food, just processed calories.

some of my weight has come off but I see pictures of myself and I am 17 lbs heavier than when I got married 11 years ago. Also, having people who are really thin, 30 years younger than I am, talk about overweight and "older" people in front of me.

This NEVER happens to me. I chat up my favorite desk guy because my husband and I really like him but that's it. I go about my merry way.

My heart goes out to you. I am sending good thoughts and positive support your way. This makes me sad "So the dr said no green beans, peas, corn or potatoes, cut out breads, pastas" I eat pasta (corn/quinoa) once a week and 0 bread. I eat all of those things you have there including fruit. I have lost 10 pounds in 2 months…
