  • Heisann (hello there)! It's awesome to be back for another round of the amazing race challenge and to see so many of you returning. For those of you that haven't raced with us before, welcome to the team! NAME: Zara FAVORITE WAY TO EXERCISE: At the moment I enjoy playing floorball - or "innebandy" as we call it here in…
  • Apologies for the radio silence! I've been busy with Christmas parties and was assisting with an event today. I've been eating lots of very rich foods and it's made me feel quite ill. I wouldn't say my diet is clean, but since starting MFP I have cut down on my intake of sugar, fat and carbs in favour of lighter…
  • I hope everyone has had a wonderful thanksgiving and that you're not feeling too stuffed! ;) We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK or Norway, but it's nice to take a moment and reflect on reasons to be thankful. Moving to Norway has been difficult and I'm still adapting to the way of life here. I left behind my family,…
  • @hawkins410 No problem. Unfortunately I don't have jumping rope or any equipment to substitute it with. As I live in an apartment it's not really a worthwhile investment for me. I've just done 3x 5 minutes of jumping jacks and alternated it with hopscotch on the spot. The jumping jacks feel like a more intense burn. I'll…
  • @hawkins410 Is it acceptable to do jumping jacks for "The Kangaroo Hop" as part of the hopscotch challenge? I don't have a lot of space - I have resorted to our section of the basement in an effort not to upset my neighbors - so if I can hop on the spot that would be great. I'm aiming to do 3 sets of 5 minutes today and…
  • Challenge #3 @MissionEnforcer M: Red (pepper), orange (carrot), yellow (banana, sweetcorn), green (cucumber, peas), purple (raisins), white (onion, garlic). T: Red (apple, pepper, tomato), green (cucumber, jalapeno, lettuce), purple (raisins), white (onion). W: Red (pepper, tomato), yellow (banana), green (cucumber), white…
  • That's my challenges completed for the week! I've been Transylvanian twisting this evening (among other dance moves) and really enjoyed it. My favourite routine was 'Calling All The Monsters' just because it had a nice pace to it, but the best tune is 'Monster Mash' - no question about it! Now that I've started at…
  • @beachy That's a really interesting story! When I was smaller (and bolder) I also climbed trees and got pretty high up! I don't have the courage for heights anymore, although I did a charity abseil off of the Forth Road Bridge (Edinburgh) a couple of years ago. It has to be the scariest thing I've ever done, but the…
  • Yes, congratulations on coming first! It was a very close race and it's really fun to try and keep up with each other. Looking forward to the many weeks ahead! :)
  • On another thread, someone mentioned using https://www.reddit.com/r/1200isplenty/ as a guide and for meal ideas. There's not really any set recipes, but it's a useful referencing tool if you need inspiration.
  • I find it most filling when I use wholegrain items or if I bulk out the meal with fruit. We grow apples in our garden and recently had a lot to use, so I would put 1-2 in with my granola and it bulked up the meal nicely without adding too many calories. You could probably cook it in to porridge too and add a hint of…
  • Dr. Oetker Ristorante are my absolute favorite when it comes to frozen pizza. They have a fantastic selection, but I usually choose to have 'Pizza Funghi' at 290 calories for 1/3 pizza. I really enjoy a thin crust and vegetables on my pizza!
  • Whew, that's all of my challenges completed! I sent out friend requests at the beginning of the week, so I think most people have accepted those by now. :) I've just completed the second challenge tonight and really enjoyed it. I thought the 'Wings' routine was a bit slow and not very challenging, but I really got in to…
  • Unfortunately I think I'll have to take it easy today. I haven't been feeling well, but have worsened overnight with fever symptoms (sore body, congestion, etc.). Was a bit achy and had a sore chest cough yesterday, but carried on as it wasn't too bad. I think I just need to rest up. Will continue to drink plenty of fluids…
  • No worries! Thank you for considering it anyway. :) I didn't mean to imply that temperatures were that low at the moment, but just wanted to give you an idea of how low it will be getting quite soon. We've already had our first sprinkling of snow, although it didn't stick around for too long! Will certainly be challenging…
  • I don't suppose this is something you would reconsider then? Given the time of year and now that temperatures are dropping, it is much more desirable to drink warm fluids instead of cold (especially here in Norway where it was -22.3 °C at it's coldest in my town last year). I've been looking up different articles and…
  • @hawkins410 I'm not sure if this has been asked previously, but do warm liquids (i.e. tea, coffee, soup) count towards our fluid intake for the challenge? Today I've drank a 1L of coffee and used about 500ml of water in some homemade soup, but not sure if these count. Also referred to this article, but not sure how you…
  • I'll be tracking on this too! My weigh in day is Monday morning (GMT+1 timezone). :)
  • Here is a list of all the team members, for easy access to their pages. This is part of the first challenge, so be sure to add everyone by the end of week on. I'm looking forward to working with you all! :) @rusgolden @2016summerfun @2run2ski @ajfuelling @b3achy @bowlerae @cadence2020 @CaptainBoing @geminiswede @jackiep248…
  • Hello! Sorry for being late – I spent the weekend recovering from an event that we have been organising to represent international students and our cultures at university college. I’m excited to be here following the Summer challenge, but please do not hesitate to give me a nudge if I go quiet. I’m quite busy and forget to…
  • Sorry for the radio silence! I wasn't feeling well on Monday/Tuesday and didn't get any exercise in. Feeling more myself now and aiming to do Scottish dancing and game challenges by the end of tomorrow. I'll be away this weekend but there should be some walking involved so I'll still be logging.
  • I'd be very interested in this! At the moment I'm breaking down my weight-loss in to manageable chunks by participating in 20lbs in 10 Weeks challenges, but it would be great to have an end date in sight. SW: 192 (25 Apr) CW: 171.5 (4 Jul) GW: 118 (1 Jan) Estimated breakdown based on 20lbs in 10 weeks: 150 (12 Sep), 130…
  • Just wondering how everyone got on with the challenge - did you meet your goal? SW: 192 (25 Apr) CW: 176.5 (12 Jun) GW: 170 (4 Jul) I weighed myself yesterday and came in at 171.5. I've managed to lose 20lbs, but just 1.5 off my GW for the challenge. Still very chuffed and can fit in to my UK12 jeans again (one of my…
  • No problem @osche731. I think @jschmid2 is staying with us this week based on what @rusgolden has said, but she'll need to communicate with group more and get involved in activities as it's not fair on the team or those on the waiting list and eager to join the race. I understand she was busy last week but hope she can…
  • @KatKat1209 Thankfully lost the weight this week. I was being foolish popping the scale each day - I usually try to avoid this, but got ambitious with the exercise - so will stick to my weekly weigh-in. I'm very particular about weighing everything - it drives my boyfriend mad - so insist on a food scale and weighing…
  • @2016summerfun Go for it! I used to put a thick layer of butter on the toast and then mix cheese in to the beans. That was of course before I started counting calories - I try to avoid butter these days and opt for something more nutritious/filling. Was delicious though... good on chips too. Got me started now!
  • Just a heads up to the group that fieldnicole184 has been replaced by @jschmid2. Be sure to make them feel welcome! :)
  • @highlandshoppa I'm sorry to hear you've been in pain. I hope it's nothing serious and fingers crossed it goes well with the doctor. @rusgolden For some reason baked beans on toast screams at me but it doesn't seem very creative, haha! I was browsing some options today and will probably do something with chickpeas…
  • @KatKat1209 I'm terribly sorry for causing offence and didn't mean for my post to come across in such a horrible manner. If you want to complete your form at the end of each week that's perfectly fine - all that was needed was communication to say that this was the case. I mentioned you on the original group T5 message…
  • @lja860813 Don't worry, it's good to have you on the forum. The water challenge is tricky and for a lot of people it is a lot more than their regular intake. There will be different challenges each week and some people may struggle with these for personal reasons - it's fine! Just do what you can. :) @Mrscanmore Well done…
