  • Port Credit, Mississauga's village by the lake.
  • It's great when you see the scale down a few pounds but 3 weeks is pretty short term. I carried excess weight (about 35 pounds) for many years. It took about a year to whittle it down but I feel so much better, it was well worth it. Wine was one of my culprits, so many worthless calories. I stopped alcohol altogether and…
  • Take the time to log EVERYTHING. It really helps me as if I don't log what I eat I tend to have calorie amnesia. When I feel like a snack, I log it first, that helps me decide whether or not to have it. This program works when I work it! Add me if you like. Doug
  • Good luck from Canada. With this app you can achieve your goals! Doug
  • Logging everything in this app shows me how I am achieving daily goals (or not). When I take the time to use MFP, I lose weight. The scales might not show daily progress but the app gives me a daily goal and daily feedback on how well I am working my plan. If you can find time to log everything, you will see what I mean.…
  • Hi Kim: it is a good app. I was using it daily this summer and saw steady progress . I have let it slip since a fall vacation and got back some of the weight I had lost. Restarting my plan this week. Maybe we can help each other! Doug
  • I agree with previous comments that the 'professional' photographer's directions were very un-professional. This person was totally self centred, mechanically working to produce a saleable photo without consideration for the human beings they were shooting. Your experience brought to mind the first line in a poem by Mother…
  • I just finished reading a very interesting book by a bariatric surgeon. He has done a lot of the surgeries you are considering. He believes that consuming too much protein is at the root of our obesity problem. Whether you go ahead with the surgery or not you could benefit from his perspective on how to eat to lose weight.…
  • I am addicted to sugar and feel like a sack of lard when I give in to it. You are already on the right track by admitting how you feel. Use MFP to help you make the right choices. Feeling better will come quickly.
  • How did you do yesterday?
  • Hi from Port Credit. I find that logging EVERYTHING on MFP really helps. Even better, log before you eat. I have avoided some binges that way.
  • I think you are on the right path. I find that logging my food in MFP helps me immensely. Without it I develop calorie amnesia! Wishing you success, one day at a time. Doug
