I went to the lake today and wore my bathing suit and did not cover up or wear shorts, etc. Why? Because I wanted to swim and have fun with my kids. I wasn't jazzed about being in a bathing suit in public, but who says a person has to look a certain way in order to enjoy the beach? That's a very subjective slippery slope.…

Me! Just started up (again). Need to lose 100. I'm down 4 pounds, so, yay. I'm planning on being here for a long time.

I like Vega because it is veg-based and I can't do soy. The chocolate tastes good to me. You can get basic smoothie powder, or protein and greens (not that great tasting) or the Vega One powder, which is more complete nutrition.
-
I like the Vega protein powders and snack bars. Sometimes just mix a scoop of the Vega chocolate smoothie powder with cold water and get a 15g hit of protein from that for 90cals. It keeps those hungry headaches away.

Hi, me too. I've got about 110 pounds to lose in order to be at a healthy weight, and I feel totally overwhelmed by it. But, I also feel ready. I'm reasy to get healthy, and also ready to (hopefully) look good in a bikini for ince in my life. Add me if you like, and best of luck.

Those people are a-holes. And they would have said something stupid to you even if you were thin. They just would have found something else that they felt entitled to comment on. Because they're a-holes. And stupid. And selfish. And it genuinely has nothing to do with you.

Ditto to all of this. I have anxiety/sensory issues and one way I cope is by eating. It's purely neurological. Crunching and munching on things helps me to focus. So, crunchy carrots, celery and GUM really helps. I start feeling stressy/overwhelmed and I chew gum. It helps.

5'7" 249lb. Size 18 usually.

Ditto shopping. Rubbing it in the face of my snarky sister-in-law. Ziplining. Bikini.

Death.

I'm a night eater, too. So I have a good breakfast, a small lunch, and more of a snacky dinner. That saves me calories for night eating.

Time. Caffeine.

Sounds like OP had either a virus or an electrolyte imbalance. Too much water is not a good thing. You do need sugars and salts, especially if you're training that hard.

You have a normal mons. If it sticks out a bit then so what. Maybe don't wear skintight stuff if it bothers you, but I think you should go ahead and rock out your puffy mons. Every mons and every vulva is unique and they are all awesome. For the record, mine is a bit chubby too.

I'd say be nicer to yourself. If missing a gym visit causes you to feel bad about yourself, then maybe you should just focus on the eating part for now. Focus on what you can do right now, and be proud of that. I think any kind of rut is just a symptom of being overwhelmed and not knowing which direction to take. So,…

I'm making the change. There's no doubt. Facing reality has been a shock, and it was like I had blinders on for over twenty years. I can't go back now that I "know" the truth.

Thanks everyone! I'm feelng a bit more positive. I've been maintaining for a couple days and I'm back on track. Met my calorie goals today and I've been really active. I said NO to several situations that would harm me -- was offered sweets, am on a mini vacation right now, etc., but I'm making those changes! I just need…

Wow! You look like "naturally fit and thin" folks. Good work!

I hadn't considered this, thank you. I think the thing that's caught me off guard about this process is how emotional I am all of a sudden. I'm normally quite stoic and self-confident, but now that I'm seriously doing this I have all these FEELINGS to contend with, especially a very deep disappointment in my self.
-
Thanks, you're completely right!
-
Thank you! This makes complete sense to me. How have you been so patient with yourself?

Hi, my ultimate goal is to lose 100 pounds. My first big goal is to drop 50, but I'm taking this journey 5 pounds at a time. Two weeks steady and I'm down 4 pounds... I need friends.
-
Sweetheart, don't hate yourself. It's just weight. It's just food. You're worth it and you're doing it. Be patient, you will get there.

I have just started, too, and it's the first time I feel like something is working. I'm down 4 pounds and don't feel like I'm on a "diet" -- something has just clicked and I realize I can slowly lose this weight if I just stick close to my calorie limits and don't give up. I need the support, too. Having a "reminder" that…

Do you eat dairy? Cottage cheese is super high in protein.

I forgot to add: carbonation is really not good. A lot of my tummy troubles (reflux, etc.) went away when I switched to a water-only way of life. As for food, I eat whatever I want as long as it's close to my calorie goal. It seems to be working, slowly but surely.

I was raised on soda. I LOVED soda, and drank a lot of it. I could never stop by cutting back, or just drinking sparking water with fruit juice, or any number of flavourings or substitutions. I had to stop drinking it cold turkey. My recommendation: Only drink water. Don't complicate your life. Just get a big honking…

49. I started 12 days ago and am down 3 pounds. I think this is working, and it's exciting!
