Words are so powerful. I refuse to call any food "bad" based on its nutritional value--only on its quality ;)

This morning: C25K, Week One, Day One. Done. Glad I came here and saw the topics about race reg, etc. Reminding me to go check volunteer/course marshal opps for upcoming marathon/half/8k here since I'm in no condition to actually participate, and therefore don't want to pay :)

Hello, my pedaling pals! Didn't know you were all pirates, too! I've been a bit of a wreck with a cycle of weight gain, slower speeds, reluctance to participate, blahblahblah... So I'm happy to report that I got out on the bikes quite a bit in the past couple of weeks! Laaaaaaaast weekend, I took a friend/coworker out on…

Glennon, all I can do is commiserate. I've just been hating myself for not committing right now... and particularly your second paragraph resonates with me. I need a foothold and a starting point. I was actually thinking about you the other day because I want to get collars and leashes for my fattie cats. I figured that…

I don't weigh or measure, so my weight goes up when my food choices gravitate to those with higher caloric density. My problem is less with knowing portions and more about saying *kitten* it...

Either using LoseIt or mot tracking at all.

Yes, I'm very picky about my apples! I also had a student write a research essay once comparing apples to apples about the development of branded varieties--it was creative and interesting!

I estimate everything because that's how I'll do it the rest of my life. My problems are never with measuring or whatever--they're with getting into some crazy loop where I prove I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT. <sigh>

Returned to the trail of my last crash last night. Extremely humid and I was having a really tough day both physically and emotionally. Walked many of the features, but I think it was just good for me to get out for a bit. Planning to ride 20-30 on the rail trail tomorrow morning with a couple peeps. Was going to ride the…

I'm running tubeless on my MTB and CX bikes, which are primarily what I ride these days, but I usually carry a pump and extra tube for longer rides or ones that are out in the wilderness. I usually ride *with* people who keep extra chain links and other tools. Recently I had a cable error that wouldn't allow me to shift--i…

Well, I'm officially too old and fat to just do a half marathon without training. I mean, I still DID, but I hurt the next day. And the day after that. I used my regular interval plan: run when you can, walk when you need to.

Basically what Rachel said. I've also noticed that my portion creep correlates with my scale creep. (Obviously it causes it, too, but I also legit eat more when I weigh more--I find myself needing to rely more heavily on nutrient-dense foods so that I can eat more.)

I thought that post was you ignoring me.

I love crossing this local pedestrian/bike bridge on my bike! Gorgeous river views and also it kind of sways. I also like practicing ratcheting and going around pedestrians and communicating with them and being a polite cyclist :)

No riding this weekend. Walked/ran a half marathon and boy am I feeling it. I thought my first tubeless flat a month or so ago was "so cool" the way it magically fixed itself! Mark. That's some Bad News Bears riding.

I'm an instructional designer/content developer/eLearning manager on the sales training team for a large corporation. I used to teach and work in restaurants. I sit wayyyyyyyyy more on the job than ever before in my life. We have a nice cafe with a salad bar where I get my lunch every day. My comfort/challenge/satisfaction…

60% of the time, I should be ignored every time. Regardless of post count.

I could absolutely make a meal out of stuff in my pantry, but I wouldn't. I'm a total food snob about fresh ingredients. But I'm also the kind of person who will occasionally just eat a can of baked beans or make some pasta or bulghur with olive oil, salt & pepper.

obviously i am new

I thought Canadian Al was the only person who monitored that sort of thing

I generally check GOAD M-F. LTL, GOAD on the Run, and Pedaling Goadies... it depends on my work schedule, really. I like the community, but since I sit around a computer most of the day for work, I avoid it on weekends. I also participate in the GDT, which moved to another platform.

Hi, peeps! I had ANOTHER crash Thursday night--I must be like a rolling stone of some sorts! Went on a very slow 30-miler from my front door with a friend on the CX bike on Sunday, stopping at a local brewery at about mile 25, then at a local eatery (with another brew!) at about mile 28. My brother is en route here from…

I'll take the Daily Double because sometimes I step on again later in the day for additional feedback (after workout sweat, big meal, pooping, etc.) I like the data.

Slim, like your new avatar! I don't do much crockpot cooking outside of the cold months, but will have to remember to put this on the list again this year :)
-
I finally stopped gaining after putting on about 20 pounds in the last year. I seem to be maintaining. Would like to weigh less without having to lose weight, of course.
-
I think I've forgotten how, but I promise I've been biking and walking.

Franklin is pretty much a boob kitty, but his brother Wallace isn't as interested...
