Success is being comfortable in my skin and not thinking about weight and food all the time.

Really the most polite thing to do is just pop in after a year or so and not answer the question.

I'm the odd person out in most of my social life because I enjoy endurance sports and outdoor activities. I've noticed recently that if I hung out with a couple of the beer groups around town, I would be the hottie in the group, while amongst my cyclist friends and yogis, etc. I'm the total fatty. I totally get Kim on the…

Oh, and then on Sunday, our Bell Joy ambassador contacted me to see if I would be an official ride leader/sweep for the rides this season :)

Had a wonderful ride on Saturday--two of our trail systems, connected by a little road and some fire roads. It was a fun group with a chill pace--I didn't feel bad about them waiting for me, and I was able to help a few of the less-skilled riders with some technical parts, even though they were much fitter than I. We also…

I eat lunch in the cafe at work Monday-Friday. I frequently go out to dinner, and often last-minute, so I don't really plan my evening meals very well. Thank goodness I live about a quarter mile from four groceries! I frequently get partially-prepared items at Fresh Market.

I stalked Charlie when I came back and he's been missing since mid-February. I wondered the same thing!

Hi, Murps! And EXACTLY.

Interesting because I'm back up at my highest, but have a completely different perspective now from when I was here about 7-8 years ago. Before, I was devastated and embarrassed. I could no longer participate in so many of my activities/hobbies, and I was not in a good place with my relationships or career, which was part…

Good morning! I promised Podkey I would pop in if I could! Just wanted to share that although my circumstances have changed a lot, I've managed to shift my energy along with them to continue to be active in the cycling community. As I was gaining weight and losing both energy and fitness, I shifted focus to helping others…

Another note: just another habit :) I had gotten so far out of the habit of posting from being busier at work, etc., that I only thought to check in at really inconvenient times. I tend to do the same in regards to returning phone calls, emails, etc., unfortunately!

Podkey, so much truth! I'm just so happy to have a treatable diagnosis. Feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I've still been managing to get out on the bike some--I'll have to find time for a PeDaLinG GoaDieS post! Getting involved with more cycling-as-transportation initiatives and getting beginning riders out…

Everything Murple said. And also that sometimes other things are more important, and that ultimately, it's all about health and living.

Well, well, well. Looks like I picked a good day to make an appearance! I don't know who's still around, but most regulars know most of my story. Was always normal weight until my mid-late 20s, when I put on about 30-40 pounds over several years. First joined WW around then. Lost weight, and maintained a healthy weight and…

I'd gained about 20 pounds since last year and went ahead and put 15 more on in the past three months. I hate Smart Points and I'm not feeling enthused about calorie counting right now, so I'm just doing the best I can do, which right now has me at MTBC. I've been feeling like such a weight loss failure recently that I…

I've dealt with a lot of depression this year and have cut way back on my activity and exercise and have been eating and drinking more. It's amazing to me how many of my friends (even ones who have known my past weight battles) want to attribute my weight gain this year to some mystery cause or make it a side effect of…

bring your own measuring cups and salad dressing ;) :s :p >:)

And if you bike on the trails, you may possibly frequently look like a victim of abuse...
-
Yes. Anxiety, depression, frustration, boredom, loneliness, procrastination, fatigue, hangover. "I can't stop stuffing my face until I start facing my stuff." Food and alcohol are bad ways of distracting myself from these feelings. I've also used healthier means--exercise, reading, yoga, etc.--but ultimately, I'm still…

Week Two, Day One. Done. Next week, I guess it may be light out?!

Gorgeous pics, Mark!

I invited a friend over for dinner. I've got a crockpot going with chicken, Swiss chard, onion, apples, cream of celery, plenty of pepper... adding garden herbs when I get home--maybe rosemary or sage? Will serve over bulgur. Would like to walk down after dinner and check out the decorations about a mile away in a…

My newbie bailed on me for today's ride, so I'll probably venture out by myself for a bit. Heading down to Freedom park with a handful of women tomorrow, and volunteering with a (school-age) girls' MTB ride on Sunday! :)

Yes Yes No... logging calories on LoseIt, keeping track of my GHGs, participating in this message board and another previous WW incarnation on another board *LT member who hasn't been anywhere near goal in 10 years

Never go to bed hangry ;) I like and have experienced/witnessed plenty of anecdotal evidence regarding NEAT. I also notice, along the lines of @podkey 's post, that I'm rarely hungry in the morning and also that even if I'm legitimately somewhat hungry, say, when I get home from work, if I go for a walk or bike ride or…

Thursday, 10/27 C25K Week One, Day Two. Check! This is the most consistent running I've done in over a year.

Thanks, guys! happy anniversary, Mark! yeah, i'm totally into the beginner rides these days ;)

For me, it's managing the Wantpower before it becomes an effit, I suppose. Yesterday, I had just arrived back at my desk with my lovely nutrient-packed vegan salad... when my "other" team invited me to join them for lunch at Qdoba. It was a good opportunity to get to know a couple of people, so I put my salad away and went…

(((Bob))) You will never be rusty! Thanks for the love! Yes, I really like sharing the experience! I have such an innate teacher personality, anyway, but it's especially good for renewed enthusiasm :) I'm actually helping with a ride for school-age girls this Sunday (I also made the flyer for it!) and as soon as I got to…
