Eggs. And I do this a lot. Breakfast, I cook them with cheese and veggies. Lunch, the same. For dinner, I'll make an omlette with veggies and sometimes add chicken.

True! I'm 5'7," and 48. Weight charts tell you that I should be somewhere in the range of 135-140. And when I was in my teens and 20s, I was. I remember being 24 and getting my first "serious" job. I had to get a physical for that job and remember that I weighed 135 and wore a size 2. However, I was 32 when I had my son. I…

I tend to avoid office parties. Like someone earlier said, "If I'm letting loose, it's not with them." But if it's something I can't avoid - like holidays when people are bringing stuff in or lunches during the workday - I pre-plan by drinking a lot of water and black coffee to fill my stomach. I also have veggies in the…

Depending on what you were taking, it might take a year or even two for things to go back to normal. Any artificial BC upsets our bodies' natural systems, and because we are female and our body fat percentage is higher than men's (so things are stored), all the hormones and chemicals have to work their way out of your…

That's what kept me thin for 40+ years. Like I said, my weight never crept up until I was 46 (2 years ago). I grew up with a diabetic mother, so we never had cookies, cake, ice cream or soda in the house, and I never developed a taste for them. I LOVE chips and fried things, though. I was probably a teenager when I figured…

I never had a weight problem..until I got into a crap relationship that was destructive on a lot of levels and stopped caring. Up until then, I always made the "right" food choices. For example, if I was very hungry and wanted to eat everything in sight, I'd load up on veggies like cauliflower (low cal with low carbs) and…

Then why, I wonder, does MFP set me at 1200? I really think that a lot of what I've lost so far is water. I started off at 185, and I'm larger boned. To give you an idea of what that might look like on me, the profile pic I used was last summer, and I was about 165 in that pic. I've lost 12" off my waist alone and my face…

I thought that it wasn't enough myself...but I've been losing 3-5lbs a week on it. For comparison, I'm 48, 5'7," 168 pounds, lightly active (mostly sedentary with some activity here and there) and I am trying to get to 150-155. It depends on your diet, but I fill up on cauliflower, broccoli, eggs and squash (use salsa and…

My problem is pants/jeans. When I gain or lose weight, it's mostly in the bottom half of my body. My upper half doesn't really change substantially, with the exception that I lose some boob. So, I've lost almost 20 pounds since the end of July. All of my jeans are loose. Being that it's coming into winter and I wear a lot…

Hmmm. I like the Arctic Zero. Never had the Halo but would try it. I don't have much of a sweet tooth and only want ice cream occasionally. One thing I do like that is low cal, sweet and healthy is frozen watermelon. Cut it up and freeze it. It tastes like granita and has almost an Italian ice texture.

I'm 5'7" and my goal weight is 150. I was as small as the low 120s when I was a teen and in my 20s, but after I had my son at 32, I was down to 130 and I looked skeletal. I think your ideal weight goes up slightly as you age. I'll be 48 on Friday. I started this diet at 185 and am down to 170 now. Just for comparison, the…

Totally relate! I used to be a runner, until I busted my MCL. I can still run short distances, but only if I tape the hell out of my knee. I can walk very fast, though, and I love it! That's pretty much my only exercise, because I have a desk job, and after work, I'm constantly running somewhere (errands, kid stuff). And…

I don't follow any "diet." I stay on the lower end where carbs and overly fatty things are concerned, because I crave them and overdo if I allow myself to eat them....so it's easier to stay away from them or budget calories for a known small quantity (like, if allow myself a small snack bag of chips and only have that on…

I have this problem! My boyfriend's family are all on the short side (no one is over 5'5") and small builds. I am 5'7." I'm 3" taller than my boyfriend, but taken at the wrong angle, I look enormous in pics. I love his sister, but she tends to post group pictures on FB without asking. There is this one that makes me look…

For the sexier stuff, Frederick's of Hollywood. A friend of mine is an H and she finds bras there. Considering that they started as a supplier for showgirls, they carry larger cup sizes that are hard to find elsewhere.

I love coffee and just drink it black. In my house growing up, no one ever used sugar or cream. If I drink coffee with milk or cream, I can't stomach it. I used to like a bagel in the morning, but since I started this, I also started cutting all of the bread products out of my diet. Now I just have scrambled egg or a…

I have 2-3 eggs every day for some meal and don't have cholesterol issues. I don't eat a lot of meat, so it's one of my primary protein sources.

@dougii - Thanks for this! I likewise log the things that are not part of my everyday chores as well. My house is actually much older than that carpet - it's a 20s Craftsman that has had a few "remuddles" over the years that we're trying to make right. Think bad 70s carpet...crappy wallpaper. It has the potential to be…

Right now, I'm 5'7" and weigh 175. I'm trying to get to 145-150. Thank God I have a larger frame and don't look as overweight as I apparently am (the profile pic is last summer - 10lbs lighter than I am right now). MFP gives me a calorie budget of 1200 calories per day to lose 2 pounds a week. I work a desk job and don't…

I keep cauliflower and cucumbers cut up in a ziploc. I sprinkled Mexican hot pepper in with them. Shake it up. This gives me the crunch that I look for when I want to snack, but the calories are negligible. The spiciness of the pepper makes you feel like you are snacking on something snackworthy and not veggies.

Last night I had 3 skinless grilled chicken thighs with LaGuacamaya hot sauce (there are no calories in the sauce.....it is hot and very flavorful) and 2 cups of steamed (I steam it in the microwave, cut raw from the head) cauliflower with a tablespoon of Kraft Roasted Red pepper Italian dressing put on before steaming.…

I rarely eat pasta for the reasons others mentioned: too many calories, and I don't like it enough for it to be worth it to me. Instead of rice, I eat "riced" cauliflower. I do like sauces, and I just put them on spaghetti squash or other vegetables. I also rarely drink soda. My drinks are black coffee, water and seltzer…

I had a Paragard for 10 years and just got it removed last month. I'm going through menopause now (just had 3 periods this year, and I'm almost 48) and my boyfriend had a vasectomy many years before he met me, so I don't need birth control anymore. I was always thin and even had trouble gaining weight when I got pregnant…

I would LOVE to try this. I saw a blog post for a studio that was having pole classes for 40+...only it's in Los Angeles. It's supposed to be a great work-out.

I happen to like the Cabbage Soup Diet soup. It only "smells up your house" if you don't like cabbage! I've been making it very similar to what ReneeDawalga5100 listed in her post, adding kale, rosemary, cauliflower and fresh basil and different kinds of peppers and keeping it in the fridge for when I want to snack. It's…

I'm 5'7," weigh 180 and am a 12 (occasionally a 10, depending on clothes manufacturer). Trying to get to 150. In my profile pic, I'm about 165. At 150, I wear an 8. I have been as small as 130, but that looks skeletal on me.

I can't speak to the science end of it. But I can speak to my brother and two friends. All three were about 30-40 pounds overweight, and all three drank at least a 6 pack of Diet Coke a day. My brother was going through two 2 litre bottles in work every day! All three decided to or had to (one friend got hypersensitive to…

5'7", 180 and fit into 12s. Some 10s, depending on the brand. At my goal weight, which is 150ish, I fit into 6 or 8s.

I do around 1200-1300 a day. My MFP calculated my daily as 1200, and it varies that based on my exercise. I log everything as soon as I do it or eat it. I fill up on veggies and drink at least 12 glasses of water a day. Don't laugh - I use a quart mason jar as my drinking glass. It has measurements on the side. This is…

I eat a lot of traditional Mexican and have had to forego tortillas because I'm cutting carbs as well. Fortunately, I can still make calabacitas and other veggie dishes. Do you (or anyone) have a calorie count on this?
