  • Checking in. I've struggled the past few days with clean eating (mostly due to stress), but since yesterday I'm back on track. I still avoid sugar (but not carbs in general) which helps immensly with my craving. @melichalupa I love roasted chickpeas! Beans in general are amazing and keep me very satisfied. :) I don't think…

  • Yesterday was a good day in terms of walking (17k steps) and eating, but sadly the scales didn't budge. I stick mostly to eating no chocolate, which is a big relief, because that has always been my biggest weakness.

  • Morning everyone! My eating has been mostly good the last few days (aside from a few christmas cookies), but I didn't have much exercise, mostly because I felt too cold to even consider coming out from my blankets. I try to reach at least 10k steps today.

  • @amart4224 This! I also cut out sugar (but not carbs in general), beause sugar makes me SO hungry all the time. And usually I'm okay with that, but the week before I get my period the cravings get really bad. I go for long walks, write diary and cry a lot. Actually excercise can help with a cravings.

  • December is a really scary month for me foodwise, so I could use the support, as many of you seem to do. ;) Height: 5'6 Highest Weight: 225 Lowest Weight: 125 CW: 159 GW: 130 - 135 Goals for December: <3 Goal for the month is to be under 155lbs. <3 No chocolate. <3 Walk at least 5k steps outside of the house every day. <3…
  • Okay, the obvious ones first - way better health (I was borderline high bloodpressure and borderline diabetic and now both is fine and I don't have to take any meds). Feeling all around more stable and happy. When life throws me a curveball, my before-reaction would've been to cry and eat snacks. Now I'm more like "Well,…
  • @janejellyroll Well, of course I can only speak for myself. But that mindset was what made me gain weight like crazy in the first place. Like an alcoholic always finds occasions to drink I always looked for socially acceptable reasons to eat (thinking "but EVERYBODY treats themself sometimes!". And you literally always…
  • Yesterday I didn't walk as much as I wanted to, but since it was a tuesday we had cookies in our meeting (it's a thing) and usually I can't resist cookies and probably eat ten. But yesterday I took one and promised myself it wouldn't be more than that. And I really only took the one. :) Very proud of myself for that.…
  • Oh yes, this is the right thread for me! I'm 5'7. As a teenager I was pretty chubby, at age 19/20 I lost a lot of weight and ended up at 130, which I loved and will probably never weigh again in my life. During college I slowly gained weight back but maintained a few years around 150lbs. Then during work it went constantly…
  • I think, the more interesting question ist "Why do you assume you need food to treat yourself?". ;) I mean ... I can totally relate to that, because I'm a highly emotional eater and food has always been my source of comfort and joy. But that is actually a pretty harmful mindset. Nutrition is there to give you energy and it…
  • I lost 66lbs with calorie counting and walking 10k steps per day. I'm 5'7, SW: 211 and CW: 145. My GW is 135, so almost there. :) It took me about a year to get there. Walking worked great for me, because I listen to music or podcasts and just walk and walk and walk. Very Relaxing and it also helped me through periods of…
  • I eat high carb and vegan. :) Lot of vegetables, nuts, seeds, olive oil, salad, beans but honestly I also eat a lot of bread, pasta, rice, quinoa and stuff. In the end it's the calories that count. Lost 55lbs in 10 months that way. SW: 205lbs CW: 149lbs GW: 130-135lbs (I'm 5'7)
  • I know, I know. :) It's been really bad for me though. My cravings have almost ruined my health, have definitly ruined relationships, because I lied and I stole and screamed at people I love, twice I lost control and hit somebody, I almost lost my Job over it, and more often than not I ended up shaking, crying and puking…
  • That is probably true! At the beginning when I counted everything I was almost always about 1800-2000 which was enough to lose weight at the time. It's entirely possible that I eat about 1950-2000 at the moment, maybe I should log my food again. I try to step up the exercise, but it's´pretty hard for me to hit the 10k…
