  • Just looking to learn (not cause a debate): Doesn't IF help people with prediabetes/insulin resistance? I agree that CICO is all that is needed for weightloss. I am just wondering if IF has an advantage for other health issues (for people that suffer from those health issues, of course). Maybe OP has other health concerns?
  • Hi! I also have PCOS and prediabetes..I have fertility issues and an autoimmune disease to top it off. I am also losing weight and popped in to say hi and learn from you all. In case anyone has more experience to share it would be very nice to read. I am currently taking myoinositol too. I've only been on it for 44 days,…
  • emmyjaykay, I am so happy to hear your business is taking off. Your baking sounds absolutely delicious! You must very skilled if you are confident in making puff pastry!! I wish you much stamina for all the work involved.
  • Congrats!! That is amazing! How did you do it? How much weight did you lose? Did you count macros too? What exercise do you do? I am trying to achieve the same success as you and could use some inspiration.
  • Maybe try writing what you eat in a typical day and we can add ideas on how to switch it up/make it more creative?
  • I'd go with salads: Rice+chicken/canned fish+veggies Legumes (canned)+cheese+veggies Pasta+eggs+veggies (Also search buddha bowls online to get more ideas) All these make filling lunches. You can prep enough for 2-3 days and just mix and match daily. Chop celery, carrots, bell pepper and have it ready to throw in. There…
  • Abbott Laboratories also have something similar and the sensors are less visible imo https://www.abbott.com/corpnewsroom/strategy-and-strength/freeStyle-libre-3-worlds-smallest-sensor-is-here.html I am not affiliated with them in any way. They were recommended to my father by his doctor and they have worked well for him.
  • Agh!!! MIL sent delicious cookies by post!! Luckily, DH is also trying to manage eating and so we froze a significant amount, but some have already been eaten! I was NOT counting on this distraction.
  • My mother has carpal tunnel problems and she has found relief by wearing a support glove during the night and doing specific exercises from YouTube. I'm just suggesting it in case you need some relief until you can get it fixed. All the best with scheduling the procedures!
  • That's such a lovely photo of you and the dogs! And cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning sound reaaallllyy nice! I might give it a try this year, we are all cinnamon fans.
  • The advantage of being an immigrant is that there is not that much family close-by, so we will have our "normal" Christmas and still be below the max person limit! That being said, we like to put "our" carols on, and buy/make some food "like home". So, we will overindulge and it will be impossible to track. My plan is to…
  • Seeing all these pie-posts makes me crave pie so much! I went grocery shopping today and was craving alllll the ice cream, pie, pudding etc. Bought some greek yoghurt instead and called it a day! Its good my husband was there to remind me we don't need to buy pizza, or pie or anything unhealthy. We are both in the…
  • Interesting. Did he recommend any particular type of exercise?
  • Hope you are ok! I am trying to fix my pre-diabetes myself :|
  • Congrats on making it healthily through Thanksgiving! amart4224, congrats on the size 10 jeans!! So exciting!!
  • Congratulations Dante_80! That is amazing progress. We use kg here in Spain too, it's always interesting to be switching back and forth between the two. The nice thing is that ONEderland corresponds approximately to being at 90 kg, which is kind of a nice, round figure. I like that you post the "weight remaining for:..."…
  • Hi! I'm back. I just wanted to say I caught up with reading everything here that I missed and I am very happy that everyone is doing well and had a very successful Thanksgiving eating-wise! I hope it was also a nice family celebration despite the way this year is going. I joined this group in spring, but didn't post much.…
  • The psychology part of Noom is based on cognitive behavioral therapy for weightloss. Of course, the app itself is much more than just the psych part. I really enjoyed the free trial, and wanted to sign up for the Diabetes Prevention program they were offering, but couldn't because I'm not in the US. Bummer. So I bought the…

  • I tried the free trial, and then just bought the book it's based on and did that. I think it's a good tool, just not for me.

  • I can see a slightly longer abstract. Both sugary and artificially sweetened drinks have similar risk of disease. I don't think they have data on everything the subjects eat (over 100,000 subjects over 10 years). They suggest the explanation of "metabolic effects through gut micro-biota perturbation and body weight gain",…
  • Amazing! Congrats! You look like two different people!! Any tips about food and exercise?
  • Another idea is to put the tracker in your sock or somehow attach it to your foot or ankle. That way it would count the steps. I've had to do that a couple of times myself. :)
  • Congrats for that willpower, @Jackie9003! And kudos for the nearing category switch, @conniewilkins56!!
  • Hang in there! It'll come off!
  • Totally! For me, it was taking the car to go to work, car doesn't start, check engine light is lit. So annoying!
  • Congratulations on your mindset!
  • Oh, I really hope you'll have a big whoosh!! Sending whoosh-ful thoughts your way!
  • Oh, I see! It's so frustrating when such an unexplained spike happens!
  • Way to go!!!! Celebrating your 18W!!!!!
  • Hi @bobsburgersfan ! Do you weigh daily or weekly? Weighing daily could help you understand fluctuations that are not due to fat loss or gain. Jordan Syatt, a fitness expert, is now doing a public cut on his Instagram page. He trains and eats in a deficit and posts his daily weigh-ins. Over the past 10+ days, his weight…
