  • Here I am! Thank you for those private messages that came into my inbox as it has reminded me that tuning in here each day is the way to keep accountable to myself. IF has become a daily part of my lifestyle - not every day but the majority of the week. Just over three weeks to go until our wedding and unfortunately I…
  • Hi Laura -Thanks for asking and it's lovely to know you are interested :) I just had to reset my password as it has been so long since I was last on here and it had logged out. How's IF going for me? Well life kind of got in the way with work getting so busy, being away all the time and a few crazy events happening - one…
  • Go girl - bold statement that rings true for a lot of us. I lie every time I think this mouthful won't hurt as I'll burn it off tomorrow and then tomorrow never comes but more mouthfuls do. I needed to read this to get myself back in the right mindset. We can do this! 70 pounds to go before my big day in April and only 24…
  • In the 90's now, but I realise I can't rely on the calories entered in this site as some of them are so random or completely different from each other, so when it looks like I'm in a calorie deficit I realise I need to add on a few things, as I know I'm really not. The wine has been featuring far too much this week. Also…
  • A week or so being away and off-line with limited data, I'm now back to recording my daily intake and I'm finding it really hard to keep anywhere near the 1200 calories I need to, to lose weight. And that is even after cutting out half the day before I eat for the first time. I must say I'm getting a bit despondent and…
  • Thank you for the birthday wishes - now its detox time after a full on birthday week~!
  • 3 days of birthday celebrations meaning delicious carrot cake with lashings of cream cheese icing and lots of booze - and now its my fiancés birthday tomorrow as well. So I have completely fallen off the calories deficit wagon this week, along with no exercising. Hmmm the cake calling me at midnight when I woke up saying…
  • Me too - I ate 2 scones the other night as I couldn't have them in the house teasing me  I just hoovered a few things whilst reading this blog in fact - rice cakes, vegemite, butter and cheese and I just want more! I think I'm so hungry because I ate dinner too late last night and it included carbs such as potato and…
  • Thanks SnickersCharlie - definitely no-one I have seen on this thread is ignoring the nutritional side of CICO and thats why this post has ended up being so invaluable - some of the other posts on MFP though do make interesting reading :) Personally all the things I love to eat that are off my 'healthy options' list take…
  • Hi Tigerblue - all good from my end - I love all the 'derailing' as I'm getting so much information and help from you all - especially the debates. I agree it is too easy to be lead in one direction by someone who speaks a convincing argument that you want to hear to fit into your own agenda. Going off the diet subject…
  • Christina, you take care of the inches, I'll take care of the miles. You just have to go first. Tallyho, The Universe
  • Too funny I just tried to swear and it changed the word to 'kitten'. How sweet - that instantly made me feel warm and fluffy and no longer angry and hurting as much - amazing how words can make such an impact for the better or for the worse :)
  • Day 2 of my second month Intermittent Fasting and counting CICO - also first week of going to the gym. Looking at where I've come so far I feel quite proud - although things aren't happening as fast as I would like I am seeing some results - and wonders never cease I am also quite enjoying doing some exercise - although…
  • SW (1/9/16) : 103.4 kg - 227.95 lbs CWt : 99.5 kgs – 219.36 lbs October goal : 94 kgs – 208.33 lbs Ultimate goal : 68 kgs - 150.00 lbs October 1st : 99.50kgs – 219.36 lbs
  • Not believing the scales completely yet, but this morning I think I may have almost joined the nineties club (kgs that is). I am aiming to lose 30 kgs more (66.13 lbs) by the 1st April 2017. That works out at 1.25kgs (2.75 lbs) a week. Has anyone else managed to lose that much in 6 months? SW 227.95 CW 223.10 GW 154.32
  • Thank you. I so agree. I feel like I have control over IF and finally accomplishing something to change my habits and that boosts up my confidence, motivation and willpower to take control of other areas of my life.
  • Me too - but with a lot more to lose than you :) not sure how to add friends
  • Thanks! I have changed my Diary setting to 'Friends' so if anyone wants to be my friend and watch how many spicy apple deep fried donuts with cream, salt & vinegar chips with dip, and bottles of wine I am not eating or drinking - then please 'befriend' me! Being watched may also make me get off this lazy toosh and go to…
  • Thank you so much for this as it does make sense. I am getting very educated on this journey :)
  • You guys continue to blow me away with how amazingly helpful you are and how you so generously give of your own knowledge and experience to me. I'm feeling humbled and more determined to keep it up with you all here supporting me. How do I share my food diary with others does anyone know?
  • I've been reading lots of other other posts to try and work out what my maintenance calories would be and to be honest I feel as dumb as can be - it is all numbers and abbreviations and makes no sense at all to my un-mathematical and un-fitness-wise mind! I am losing some weight on around 1200 calories per day - but I must…
  • I'm looking forward to being where you all are now and getting compliments about my weight loss :) And I think I will easily brush off even the not-so-PC comments too. I'm very open about discussing my own weight, so I guess I've invited people to have their say whether I like what they are saying or not. In fact I have…
  • Happy Day Light Savings - Spring has Sprung! Weighing-in in the mornings may not be entirely accurate as it seems to go right back up during the day, but it's keeping me motivated seeing the little losses anyway - I just want the scales to be fluctuating on the 90's side by the end of the month instead of in the 100's! SW:…
  • Thanks for that advice - I do want this to be sustainable of course - but the on the other hand I want to reach the goal post quickly, as I am focused on my wedding in April (this time doing it for myself), so I guess I am aiming for a reasonably quick loss with 27 weeks to get down at least into the 70's. Do you mind me…
  • BMI says Obesity = 35.7 - ha ha thats motivating!
  • Ha ha thank you all- I thought I may have overreacted but glad you pointed out that posters own 'schtick' (whatever that means) was weird. Not sure about my BMI or how I measure that, but I think I got this right from responses above, that as I am pretty sedentary (nice word for avoiding exercise thanks) that 1200 calories…
  • Benefit of the doubt - she must have made a typo! Although maybe its a sign I should change my career and become a permanent blogger - or write a Intermittent Fasting Diet Guru book - with all of you as contributors! I must say I'm much more interested in reading this thread than doing any real work :)
  • Hey guys - not sure about the Marketing and Sales comment someone's made - why on earth would anyone think that I'm trying to sell something, when I am just asking for advice? I think I plugged into MFP that I wanted to lose 1kg per week and its given me 1200 calories a day to work with. Maybe I have done something wrong?…
  • Thank you so much for all of your responses – what a great community and loving the debates too. I have copied the four or so answers to my last questions into a doc to refer to, as it will be really useful to keep me on track and has made things so much clearer for me. Thanks guys and girls for your time and explanations.…
