Thanks @showjumper - I'm trying to embrace my curls rather than ironing it straight all the time. W8D2 done - can't believe there's only one more run before we're supposed to do a full 5K - feels like a big jump from 30 to 40 minutes running- guess I need to slow down for it
-
W8D1 bites the dust! ππ½ββοΈπ

Take care - I know how irritating it is to be benched with injury but better to wait it out so you can come back strong. I'd recommend repeating the previous week when you restart - or even starting again from the beginning if you can bear it.

Did W7D2 while on holiday on the hotel gym's treadmill last Friday, just finished W7D3 today - can't believe we're nearly on the final week! Looked a little less like I was about to have a stroke at the end of today's run too, which is nice π
-
Did W6D3 last Saturday and W7D1 today - sorely needed to use up some of the extra holiday calories we've been getting!
-
Hugs to those struggling - you can do it! I've been at this since March and am still only on week 6 - had to restart twice due to injuries and redone several days and weeks as needed. It is getting easier but it has taken some doing. W6D2 done - will attempt the 22m run on Sunday - we're going to be travelling for most ofβ¦

I use mapmyrun as my C25K app won't tell me distances (despite paying for the Zenlabs one) - it tells you your route and distance, and pace for each km - not sure how this compares with mapmywalk as I haven't used that app. W6D1 done! Easier than the 20m run of W5D3, not sure why... softening us up for what's to comeβ¦

Did W5D3 again so the husband could catch up - slightly easier, but still had a face like a beetroot by the end of it!
-
W5D3 done - 20m running. It wasn't pretty, or very fast, but I did it!
-
Does your app tell you when you've gone far enough? The Zenlabs one has distance goals as well as time goals from week 6 onwards, but I don't know how I'm supposed to know if I've jogged for 1/2 mile or whatever
-
W5D2 done this evening as we're in a bit of a heatwave here in the U.K. - think we'll do it again before moving up to the 20m run
-
I think repeating weeks as needed is a great idea - it's been my go-to to avoid repeating injuries
-
Did W5D1 again today - must move on soon! Had to have a bit of a hiatus last week after dropping the garden (wrought iron) gate on my foot... ouch
-
W5D1 done (again!) today with a very reluctant husband π
-
Congrats @nkolpean - I'm not looking forward to day 3!
-
W5D1 done today - was soaked to the skin by the end of it, but it was quite refreshing at first :) we were careful to have a completely flat run - ran along North Bay by the sea. A big difference from even the mild hills we normally use that are immediately out of the front door
-
W4D3 completed yesterday - feels ok so on to week 5!
-
And then some... calf stretches 2-3x daily as they're extremely tight and possibly the source of my problems. Eccentric heel drops 2x daily but only for the last month or so - was told they'd get worse before better and have found this to be true!
-
Gah... I may have to scale back to twice a week to give some extra healing time then - we'll see how it goes
-
Great to see so much activity here πW4D2 done today and it felt like bloody hard work too - even a mild incline has me wheezing like an elderly asthmatic...
-
Restarted week 4 again today - lovely flat run round a local mere. Even saw some cygnets trailing after their mama π think we might repeat this week for a while before moving on. @Just_Ceci - how annoying!
-
I just started back after about 10 days off due to (another!) issue... took ibuprofen before, warmed up with a 30min walk home from work, went back to week 3 to ease myself in and iced my foot afterwards. So far so good!
-
Good luck with the 20m run @kilobykilo - I'm dreading mine in W5D3!
-
W4D3 completed today, in the pouring rain and misty cold after work. A long hot bath is calling my name now!
-
I'm still so slow I'd probably be faster walking! I figure I'll work on the speed element once I can run for more than 5 minutes at a time without feeling like I'm going to die... W4D2 completed today, a lovely sunny coastside run
-
W4D1 - finally onto a new week! Ask me if I liked it... π
-
welcome @frannie_h20! You're not late to the party - I'm still on the first course... W3D3 completed today :)
-
There's an acknowledged issue today - we just have to wait for it to be sorted ETA: https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/2976520-fitbit-sync-issues

W3D2 done - woohoo! Had to have a few days of RICE mid week, but foot seems ok now. Onward and upward! Well done on finishing week 5 @kilobykilo - I can't imagine 10 minute intervals yet - the 3 minute ones are still kicking my *kitten* at the moment πππ½ββοΈ ETA cheer for @SarahGilfach - nearly finished!
-
W3D1 - I'm now officially as far as I've ever been in the programme ;)
