  • If you've been on T4 only and your TSH went up that high then that should be a good enough reason that your current dosage is not working. Finding the right dosage takes time but without trying different dosage or combination T3/T4 how are you going to get there. It takes alot of trial and error to get there but its…
  • I no longer have my thyroids... and I'm on a T3/T4 Combo. Taking 62.5 synthroid and 20 cytomel.
  • I was also Hyper before my surgery...now i'm Hypo. But while I was Hyper, I had similar issues. My heart rate was beating off the charts and I couldn't even catch my breath just trying to run for 2 minutes. It was really crazy how much I was limited to do. Just be careful and not to over due your body. The resting heart…
  • Cool, I'll search around!
  • Thats GREAT!!! Can't wait until you finish! Please post your results too :) I've been sick and had to miss my workouts! soOOOOoo BUMMED about it.! Because I REALLY wanted to see the results by following it 30 days in a row. Oh well.... I am going to try and continue it tonight but i'm still sick so hopefully I can still…
  • Thats awesome! I've heard a lot of people that said they did not lose that much pounds but a lot of inches. Thanks!
  • I didn't take pictures... but I did take measurements. We'll see how i do!
  • I just joined! I missed the first week... But I hope this will help and keep me accountable through the holidays!
  • Be sure to test your white blood cell count on your next lab. I found out I was allergic to the medicine and it literally killed all my white blood cells and I got hospitalize. Its a rare side effect but I guess I happened to be one of the less than 1% chance. So, I didn't really get the benefits of being on it. I hope all…
  • I bought the one from trader joe's and i'm cooking with it instead of olive oil. I also added coconut milk as a creamer for my coffee. We'll see how October goes....
  • Great POST! and Great Tips. I'm currently in the same situation. Trying to lose the last 10 lbs and just added Virgin Coconut oil to my diet...
  • My endo said it doesn't matter, with Synthriod or any T4. But with T3 (cytomel) he suggest 1 hour after the med.
  • I had my TT in 02/2011 due to severe hyperthyroidism and Graves Disease, I was allergic to the methemizol, it was killing off my white blood cells, so when I got sick, my body wasn’t able to recover and I was in the hospital for over 2 weeks until my white blood count was high enough to do the surgery. The surgery went…
  • I'm so sorry to here that, just a thought.... Do you take your blood test 1 hour after your meds? With cytomel, you burn through it so timing does matter but with the T4 it shouldn't matter what time you take the blood test. But, I have had issues with my old endo that kept reducing my T4/T3 combo meds because of my TSH…
  • 2lb a week would be lovely but to tell you the truth from my own experience... (also had a full TTD) Its very hard and keeping it off is even harder when I lose that much. So, My goal is 1lb per week and i was on a roll. but just recently hit plateau...I think its due to the fact that i'm getting closer to my goal weight.…
  • You should book an appointment right away with an endo doctor!
  • Best of luck! I really hope that medicine helps and gives your relief!

  • So, Spoke to the new endo today. Upped my T4 and keeping my T3. YAY! Hopefully I'll start to feel better again and retest is schedule for another 6 weeks to see how I do. Now, I'm having hope again... :)
  • The reason why its a good thing that my Lab showed a High TSH is to prove and confirm to the Endo that I am having hypothyroid symptoms and my TSH backed me up. Because all that time my TSH was suppressed and showing a very low TSH and according to the endo I was Hyperthyroid but I was having Hypo symptoms. I can not be…
  • WOW your TSH is VERY VERY HIGH!!! And I can totally relate to you, each dosage change we have high hopes and than bad news again and again. But, hopefully that is another step closer to finding your balance. Keep track of all your labs and symptoms, I chart every test and compare it to how I feel. It's so important to find…
  • I myself do not eat back calories burn. It definitely did not work for me. I ended up gaining instead. But there was another topic about that and there were a few people trying it. Hopefully you can find the topic and see what results they had. But I think it is good to do when you need to break a platueu. It's going to…
  • So its been over a year since my surgery, and I also have low calcium. Was taking 2000mg a day but it's still too low so I went back on rocaltrol and 1000mg of calcium. I'm going to retest next week to see how the calcium levels are. I use to have horrible muscle cramps that had me in tears... (1 month right after surgery)…
  • meeee too! I just ran my first 5K this past Saturday! I am looking forward for the next one.....
  • I've been on both T4 and T3 combo, I notice T4 hasn't really worked for me, but the T3 is good depending on the dosage. I started T3 at 5mcg. But now I am at 15mcg and I have much more energy. The only bad thing about me is my TSH is suppressed.... and my current endo reduced my T3 to 10mcg (because she's trying to get my…
  • I take both T3 (Cytomel) and T4 (Levothroid) combonation. I can definityly say Cytomel has helped a whole bunch! I don't have my thyroids anymore (TTD surgery in 02/2011) and was put on only T4 and felt horrible for months until T3 was added. I still struggle with fatigue but it is not nearly as bad as before. The T3 has…
  • I am on Cytomel, for me, the one thing I notice is that it gave me more energy. I got out of my funk and was able to start working out. As far as weight loss, It did not instantly help me lose weight. Agree with tecallahan, back to rules for losing weight: Workout and healthy diet. Before cytomel and I was just on T4 meds…
  • I had mines removed in Feb 2011. My TSH isn't normal yet, but my T3/T4 at normal range. Currently on Synthroid and Cytomel. Add me if you like.
  • Great Results!!! You look amazing and look how skinny your stomach is! Keep up the good work!
  • I also had a TTD about a year now. I'm on both Synthroid (T4) and Cytomel (T3). I started out with jus the Synthroid right after the surgery and about a few months later, I was still getting severe Hypothyroid symptoms. It was so horrible, deeply depressed, fatigue, and gained over 40 pounds. And I suggested my endo to add…
