Set a goal of 1pound per week and then when you slam it, celebrate that! Setting the goal at 2 per week is tough and sometimes you will miss. So lower expectations and celebrate success! Good luck--I'm in it with you!

5-8 pound swings after a carb cheat day (never a good idea) are typical for me. It is mainly water but will take a few days of discipline to come back off. Drinking more water is key.

Nuts or cheese, appreciating every bite. I do have to count them out before I start though.

I eat one piece (<5g carbs) of ghiardelli twilight dark chocolate (75%) almost every day. But I absolutely still get cravings so maybe that's feeding the beast. Case in point, @FlyingMolly your picture above looks like a huge pile of jelly beans to me, ha!

I've done hot yoga when on keto and when not on keto--probably a total of ten times. Of those ten, I probably had to sit out (aka, lay down) the second half of class 4 times; that's just too high a ratio. Wasn't good for me.

Breakfast: eggs (hard-boiled or fried); bacon; sausage; maybe some spinach or peppers or farmer's cheese thrown in Lunch: big salad with Ranch or blue cheese or real vinaigrette (make sure very low carbs) with steak, or salmon or chicken or salami or prosciutto, cheese, maybe cucumbers or a few tomato slices or olives. If…

What an amazing thing you've done--something that most people will either never try or never succeed in doing. You've been brave and strong--be proud!

I think it is very related to diet and LCHF can absolutely reduce ankle size, both in the short-term and in the longer. LCHF is going to get rid of the constant bloat that carbs bring on. I carry a lot of excess water when I'm not eating LC and it shows up first and foremost in my ankles (especially at night). When I go…

I hit it in February. It was not easy, and it was to the wire, but I'm 10# down and logged every day. Now on to March...

My body does best when I keep at or below a specific calorie deficit (1500) most days, but boost above it every three or four days. That seems to prevent the 'shutting down' of metabolism that I've experienced on other diets. I'd stick where you are but vary it a bit and see if that might help. And congrats--six #s down is…

The cake mixes aisle in the grocery store just about knocked me out yesterday. (I was headed to the end for the super-dark, yummy straight-up chocolate). Absolutely think sense of smell is heightened.

Welcome and congrats--you've come a long way! Getting your carbs down to under 30 is absolutely manageable. For now, up your water and salt intake (think pickles or broth) to try to get your body feeling better. There's absolutely an adjustment period and you've got to make some adjustments to boost salt/magnesium to get…

Yes, I track and watch calorie counts on Keto. When I don't, I don't lose or I gain a bit. That said, I do find it easier to stay at or under calorie on Keto b/c I'm satisfied and not walking around like a hangry woman. But it's a fine line. With beef tenderloin and horseradish cream, glorious cheeses, deviled eggs, I can…

I'm not a coffee drinker so the bullet idea never really hit for me; in other words, I don't drink butter or coconut oil in any way but work to get fat through other foods. I've found that cream of broccoli/cauliflower/chicken/?? soups do a great job when I've had a lot of protein and need a handful of veggies and fat. And…

I'm doing great on plan, logging everything, working out like a beast, ...but the scale is not showing it. Think I'll fall a few pounds short of February goal. Then again, maybe I'm just holding on too tightly & it'll all wash away next week. A girls gotta hope... One downer was I took the kids to dinner tonight, Ledo's…

this exceeded all expectations! love it.

I'm your size, a little shorter, and weight and no way would I lose at 1900 calories a day. I am hitting 1500-1600 most days and am exercising (some days moderately for 60 min, some days intensely for 90). Doing this, I have lost a couple pounds a week for the last several months. Not linear, at all, but fits and spurts.…

I find I have more energy on keto than ever before and fewer big swings in mood. There's moments on keto (and working out!) that I feel like the clouds clear and I see the sun shine. It's pretty awesome overall. Not every day (today is not that day for me), but enough to tell me it's good.

I could use some help today. I've done great for the last 10 days, down five pounds, working out, sticking to my macros. Hosted a dinner party last night and didn't eat a lot--some salami, spinach salad, cheese. I was proud that I didn't eat the cookies, pizza, chips and other stuff that was readily available. (Small…

I'm down four pounds since the start of Februrary (several of it water weight from bad choices in January). Was working out like a beast last week, dialed it back this week with pilates, yoga and hiking when my knees started groaning. Feeling great--no f'up February rocks!

Happy Birthday!! You've come a long way, stop and recognize that progress, each and every day. I've had problems with periodic binging my whole life. It can really sabotage you, absolutely. I find that in addition to the prep work in the kitchen that others mention that increasing mind/body awareness is a key to stopping…

I'm on track, logging everything & keeping tight. Have been pushing to mix in exercise across the day. Going out tonight so just ate some chicken & cheese so as not to arrive famished. Will have 1 glass of wine. Happy Friday!

Try plum vinegar on kale, it's just the right kick to give flavor & balance to sautéed kale.

It's best not to, I agree... But...if you do, don't have a cheat day. Maybe don't even have a cheat meal. Instead have just the one thing you really want. And then stop yourself. (And don't only eat the sweet, eat a Keto meal like normal & then let yourself have dessert. One dessert. ) I've found if I do this very…

If I'm hungry in the a.m., which is not always the case anymore, I go with a tablespoon or two of coconut-peanut butter. Delicious and in line with LCHF macros. Also make sure you drink something in the morning. Tea, coffee, water. Something..

Generally I'd say I'm a tad bit more energetic, but that could also be due to getting in better shape, regardless of LCHF approach. But...I did have a dramatic "flu" onset about 10-12 days in to keto, and it was a beast. I slept a ton, listened to the brave souls on this board and upped my sodium and magnesium like crazy.…

I'm in--tracking everyday, exercise 5x/week, goal of dropping ten pounds in February. (But I'm counting this morning's 1 pound loss!) Need more water and more greens. Less almond butter and dark chocolate--I will not reward myself with food as I am not a dog.

Magnesium helps, yes. So does smooth move tea, if you're really in a bind. Starting each day with a cup or two of warm/hot water also helps a lot. And watch your fiber intake--I was taking 3-4 psyllium pills a day and had to stop. A little fiber (on keto) can be too much when volume is so much lower.

Eggplant parmesan: slice eggplant, salt and let wait. Drench in egg and then in parmesan to coat. Fry in olive oil or coconut oil. Then top with ground beef/tomato/basil sauce and a piece of provolone or mozarella and bake for 20-30 min. Delicious! Keto wings and celery with blue cheese or ranch dip (tons of great recipes…

I've been doing this only a few months but the good news is, it works! Seriously works. My advice: Stay sane, get moving (even if just a little bit), gather info (Sunny's posts above are excellent) and keep away from obvious carbs. Oh, and drink a ton of water or tea, it really helps. Green veggies are fine, others are…
