Did a survey about this in Bristol two weeks ago as part of a project and vanity in youth. Out of 500 women we managed to harass on the street only 77 said they liked men with beards. Maybe just UK women, other nationalities may have different views. Reasons for dislike ranged from it made people look too old, geeky,…

Fair play and respect to your Uncle. I was a Desert Rat in Gulf War. Part of 7 Armoured Brigade who inherited the name from the original Division in WW2.

[quote="cwolfman13;38120088" Also, I'm not super serious trying to podium or anything, but I do participate in numerous cycling events throughout the year and "gadgets" like my strava app and my HRM help me train better so that I'm prepared for said events...so I guess I don't see that as a "craze" or anything. .[/quote] I…

I was quite muscular as was in th Armed Forces at the time and specialised in Mountain and Arctic Warfare and the Desert survival so crap load of exercise. Swam for the Army and did Athletics at time. what i would give to go back to those fitness levels..lol

@cwolfman13 Please read what i put..It's not for logging fitness. It's useful for me to no how long it takes to get to places so i can guage what time to leave the house. That's about all it gets used for. I don't even sync it with Garmin connect. When i go swimming i use the clock to see how long it's taken to do 100…

@NorthCascades Yes it is a Edge (£50 from Aldi) and is a gadget. But it's not for fitness as such and just logs my routes or distances like a SatNav would. Didn't say i didn't like gadgets, just don't see the need in fitness ones. I am a PC gamer so trust me i have gadgets galore. I am a hiker as well. Was a ML in the army…

From previous experience, yes. In 1993 i was on an expedition in Namibia. It involved alot of trekking in the mountains and desert. Although i had a high calorie intake and sugar and water for energy i was burning way more than i was eating. I lost two stonein that 3 months. But was all muscle..lol

Why not put a picture on and write a bit about yourself in your profile. You are more likley to get positive reponses than just leaving everything blank.

Nothing for me to debate on the matter. had it this year 'cos free at work. I work with the elderly. Haven't had flu since i can remember. didn't do me any harm so just go with the flow. given up worrying about efeects and is it or is it not ok. I had more stuff injected into me in the Gulf War and seem to be ok from that.

I think it hit home for many. Quite a few of my friends have said it has made them think differently about a few things.
