  • Good luck to you all!
  • Drink a lot of water for the next 3 to 5 days and run my *kitten* off. All the bloat pretty much disappears without issue.
  • That is awesome! I went from 335 to 187 and ran 9.33 miles the other day. My farthest yet. Had average of 9:29 per mile. Slow but I am trying to get to 8min miles like you for that distance. I run on hilly terrain. How long (conditioning) did it take you to do that distance at that pace? My best yet is 5.3 miles at 8:24…
  • I've seen people who do that, then I've seen people who just exercise walking normally. I just power through my walk, when I do walk. Just because you walk fast doesn't mean you have to look like your high. People buy into stupid *kitten* all the time. Take care, see you out there.
  • "Anyway, the point of training is not simple calorie expenditure." But for people trying to lose weight by using CICO, it proves a good point. But you're right. I just think training means a lot of things to a lot of different people. As always, your mileage may vary. Definitely getting fitted now. Just have to get…
  • I can sustain a walking pace of 11:37 for 2 miles. Then I just slowed down and walked normal. I could do it no problem. It's not that hard and people do it. This isn't some unique thing that is coveted. Just working out, getting healthy. Thank God for science right! Like you all said, I think I am going to get…
  • Sorry. I didn't type that out correctly. The article states... Walking is a different kind of animal. Increases in walking speed dramatically raise calorie burn per mile as well as per minute. Indeed, at about 12:30 per mile, walking hits a point where it burns about the same calories/mile as running. Walk faster than…
  • Freaking A right. Trust what works for you. You did the hard work, and YOU got YOUR results. No one else did. YOUR research, YOUR sweat and hard work. CICO works, dieting works, Running? *kitten*, congrats, that REALLY works oh and...YOUR HARD WORK!!! Awesome to you, unreal! :) Thanks for posting this bruddah. :)
  • I was on Olanzapine (Zyprexa) from 2005 to 2014. It effects your metabolic rate and causes you to be hungry....A LOT. I went from roughly 215 pounds to 335. That med made me so hungry so often that I would literally pig out every single day. Just constantly hungry. And not to mention how many other bad side effects from…
  • 6.4 mile jog with a 10:30 average mile pace (5.7mph?) 3x a week. Then 4.2 mile jog 2x a week. 5 days jogging then walking on the weekends. That's it. Though I am thinking of hitting the gym soon. Gotta figure out a routine for that.
  • That if you overeat just a tiny bit you think you gained 60 pounds and are now a blimp again and need to go through all the hard work to get it off when in reality you didn't even gain a pound. Or dealing with the worry of returning to fat land. I love having that worry now. Keeps my *kitten* on the straight and narrow.…
  • 335 to 180. I wouldn't trade that for any amount of money. Wish you luck. :)
  • This is the maintenance calorie calculator that I use http://www.acaloriecounter.com/calculator.php It uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation, which is a widely accepted equation used for calculating this number (your maintenance calories). It is the most accurate maint calc that I have found online. At 6'1 180 pounds with a…
  • Did a 5k on Sunday and did a 5k on Monday. So happy. First ever doing them...well since I was in my teens. Good luck and best wishes to you all :)
  • I love food so much that it is number 1 to me above all else, sex, God...you name it, food has the spotlight. Maybe it's the Italian meatball in me but man, food is too good to not work for. So that being said, I used to think oh when I lose all the weight I'll go back to eating "normal". I I figured out, like 7 months…
  • No. The feeling I was trying to convey was that society at large, up until maybe the last 20 years had it wrong on how to realistically lose weight. 7'2 guy can only eat 1200 calories?? Really? No. The health gurus attitude was the 1200 calorie a day diet, strict healthy food, no retreat no surrender attitude, you can't…
  • It is. I also heard that Coke Zero has more caffeine in it that tends to give it a more natural sugar/less fake taste. I don't know where I heard that. I think on the internet. Some days Coke hits the spot. :)
  • All I know is Coke Zero was imperative in me losing weight. I would house cans of it during the day. It actually gave me sanity throughout the whole experience. I love it and drink it to this day. 4 to 5 cans some days, some days more. But mostly water too mixed in. I give it 20 o 30% of the credit for me being faithful.…
  • In 3 days of NGAF I gained 13 pounds from the sodium and other crap. It was all temp weight. I ate clean and drank water for 4 days and 12.5 pounds dropped off. There was so much *kitten* "scientific data" from the twenties and thirties and forties that made you think we were actually gaining weight. It's so refreshing to…
  • I don't want to eat like a pig and feel stuffed anymore and then regretting it. I like being thin and healthy and being able to run again. The mental and emotional changes plus the depression that has lifted/lifting... ain't no way in hell I am ever going back. You start loving your body and respect it. Food to me is worth…
  • I used to do cheat days. Now once a week I will have a cheat meal. Not the full day. BUT that cheat meal is about 2 to 4 hours of eating whatever I want. NOT the whole day. But at the start of the journey I needed them for sanity and for the maintaining of persistence for the long haul. Good luck and you can do it
  • I'll check out the calculator. My PCP told me to try and stay around 1500 calories to maintain. But he is a PCP and not a nutritionist. Honestly, I have existed at 1200 calories with 0 issues for the past 3 months and hit goal. If you are telling me that you, at 5'2 120 pounds, and a female...have 2200 as your maint…
  • What do you guys think maint calories are for a 6'1 41 year old 188 pound guy would be? Medium to large frame build? 1800? 2000? Just want to start maintaining as close to the real target number as possible. Thanks!
  • That is important to do. A lot of people fall off the wagon and just go down the downward slope. When you can catch yourself right away and just be real with yourself. Say get back on track. That is great you can do that! I had to learn how to do this even 3 or 4 days after eating like a pig. Once you can manage to put the…
  • Went from 44 waist and 3 XL shirt to a 34 waist and L shirt. I was 18 the last time I was this size. Not only do I fit into my new sizes, I have room to spare. And I am staying like this for life! Shopping for Levis and clothes is fun as hell now! Everything fits, there is plenty of stock on the shelves and you can buy the…
  • I am a 41 year old 6'1 guy with a medium-large frame build. When I first started out at 330, I told myself get to 180. No reason really other than it sounded nice? Once I realized how lean I was getting, I bumped it up to 185 as the target to hit. Then my PCP told me that he wants me to hover between 190 and 200. Now I am…
