I'm super happy to have access to advice! Many thanks all, very much appreciated.

Wow that's some serious weight loss, very well done indeed! Magnificent.

Thanks for your reply. I'm coming down through the levels, from excited to think I'm burning over 1000 calories a day, to hoping to burn 500 to realising I'm getting the best view being more accurate. LOL, ever the optimist! I'd rather be a lighter realist though. Happy to report I'm adapting my diet as its easier to check…

Hi, Thanks, I've sent you an Invite. Look forward to mutual encouragement : - )

Great you've got your head in the game! Good luck on your journey. Whats your plan? Gym/home? How are your going to change your diet and which bad habits are your going to kick out? This forum is perfect for obtaining the advice and help you need. So just ask if you need it. I'm still learning, and I thought I ate pretty…

I've changed my Insanity to Calisthenics which has significantly reduced the assumed calorie burn. Also changed down my running speed to a more accurate figure. Now my net calories are much closer to my 1400 allocated calorie allowance. My Gross calorie intake was higher 4 out of 6 days. Now I can see why I have got fitter…

Thanks for your reply and the workout formulas which are much appreciated! I'll look at the calisthenics calorie suggestions. I'll have to google calisthenics too as I dunnooo what that is! Wilco on the accuracy too. I know all these suggestions will help me progress. Don't give up on seeing me in the Commonwealth Games…

I have been sceptical about the calorie burn that this app gives. Though I'd love to think its right!! I know its not. I couldn't find a run option to reflect the mph I was actually doing. To compensate for this I just logged 500 calories for a 35-40min run of 5k. As you can see I am not fast at all. I do work hard to…

Thank you so much for your detailed answer. Lots for me to consider. I do weigh naked on Monday mornings, but will move this to the end of the training week ie Friday Morning to see if the weekend 'non exercise days' are causing fluctuations on Monday mornings. I will keep going and be more patient. I've the fat stores a…

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I set my weight loss to 1lb per week. I will need to be more accurate by the sounds of things. I will sort out my weekend food logs. Its very interesting what you say about body recomp, this is new to me but I agree that I've gained muscle and strength, but maintained weight. I feel like a light…

Thank you so much, I've changed the settings. Please help if you are able.

Hi Living lean, You look great, and exactly like someone who would be good to ask about body fat reduction. Thanks for your reply. I do weigh my foods and import recipes via URL and make sure I divide per portion suggestions. I'm assuming the intake of calories is fairly accurate, or accurate enough. Regarding the…

Are you sure you are not distorting your posture to look at your bottom? If your hips are not properly square then one cheek will be out of alignment with the other. Even if you think your hips are square, sometimes they are not and this can lead to a view of one cheek looking more prominent than the other. In any case…

If you are going to build muscle, whilst losing body fat, then the scales are not going to be your best judge of progress. But building muscle, getting fitter and doing cardio for weight loss in my view is a great way to proceed. I don't know a lot about all this, but my treadmill workouts take at least 30-40 mins, and…

Hi, I was struck down with Arthritis at the early age of 18. My diet history was poor, and as a teenager I was drinking a fair amount of beer. However, the joint pain came on suddenly, and I was in a neck brace etc for years as I couldn't hold up my head, I couldn't walk more than 50 yards. Like you I looked to diet and…

Thanks for your help. I looked at their equipment and it look like perfect. I had a conversation with them this morning about my concerns regarding exit after 12 months. As you say, be mindful of the exit proceedure and they promise it will be OK. I appreciate your replies.

Support your own happiness levels firstly. Accept that you are trying your best and ditch the guilt when you don't get to the gym. Family is important too. This should like a weight off your mind. Try to find a way of thanking your partner for his input whilst voicing your need to do this your way. I suspect he sees your…

Perhaps a point scoring system for historic conditions, age, weight, lifestyle could help? I'm sure something like this is already in place. I'd like to pay premiums according to my annual proofs of health and lifestyle choices. I'd like to pay less than someone who does not take responsibility for their own lifestyle…

Very well done indeed. You are amazing. I find that the more sugar I have in my diet, the hungrier I feel, and I want double the sugar next time, and so on. I have been upping my natural foods, and the sugar crave has significantly reduced. I am wary of having a 'treat' since this tends to start the whole vicious circle…

Well done for sticking to your regime. I'm very impressed! I guess some people may be genuinely concerned about your health. But others perhaps jealous or resentful. The energy which comes with their objections will guide you to the response. I'm not sure telling someone they need to lose weight will help, you don't want…

Perhaps consider wellness and health as a more important goal. Take your time to accept a new shape or weight. It's not easy, but if the experts are telling you that you are in danger of ill health then you may need to take heed. Good luck, wear comfortable clothes and give yourself time to adjust and appreciate the…

I can't comment much on his status or circumstances as I don't know the full story. But warning bells ring if you can't phone his home number/see him during 'social time' ie evenings and weekends, and there are no plans to progress the relationship with you. Sounds like he's got the penny and the bun. You know it, so…

Following my new regime and seeing results in fitness. So I've begun Insanity routine this week. Another lady who is 60 and super fit is doing it with me. Happy to be eating more due to calorie burn, but still well within my allowance. Yaay!

Hi, When my job was exceptionally stressful, I too put on weight. Eating constantly on the run. My nutritionalist told me that the brain uses a lot of protein, and to make sure my diet was protein rich during times of extra stress. Also, make sure you eat 2-3 cups of raw veg per day and 2 pieces of fruit. This should…

One more thing. logging your food will help you understand where you are going wrong. It will look bad at first, but as you get back into healthy eating, the calorie intake will drop also. Keep and eye on the nutrition key. (I didn't realise that I'm not eating hardly any Iron and Vit A for instance....) Have you tried…

I recently had a similar problem. Sugar cravings have driven everything. Lack of energy and drive to excercise, poor food choices, more cravings, and round I went again. I've put on a stone. I have been combating it by making sure I ALSO eat apples, raw veg, protein like chicken legs/ ham slices and eggs. My cravings are…

Hi, Yes indeed. Using the mobile app, tap in the meal choice ie breakfast/lunch/dinner. It will offer you a list of recents. If you look at the bottom right of your screen there is a multi add option. Click this and it will reveal your option to tick from that list. Hope this helps.

I used to be stuck thin. Ate chocolate, cakes, fry ups and drank 30 pints of ale a week. Lean genes are in our family. Now I'm 50 plus I have to watch it big time. Looking back I wish my partner had encouraged me to eat healthily and excercise! I would have achieved a great physical form as any excercise I did back then was…
