Sounds like you have good motivation to get you started. Make small goals at first then reward yourself (not with food ;-). It took to reach out for help and that's a great start.

Those with the Garmin Vivosmart HR, tell me why it's better than the Alta Fitbit. I was about ready to order the Alta Fitbit for my wife, but I'd like to know why you chose Garmin over Fitbit. Thanks so much.
