Around 2000 a day. Athlean X Xero x5 days a week Pullup pyramids every day. 4-6 miles walking every day. Stretching every day. Oh: 57 years old, male, 5'10" on a good day and 177 lbs

My wife is doing exactly what you are OP, learning heels and all. The box squats have actually helped her perfect her form far past what she could manage without. On the off days doing goblet or dumbbell squats she does go slightly lower as Lizarking said, just past parallel. I also go just slightly past parallel.

My company handled a networking contract for PF, so I had the opportunity to visit every site in my area and got a good look around at each, as well as speaking to managers and all. Each one was different, different atmosphere's and equipment. That said, since they seem to be standardizing their equipment among sites these…

This is what I do, the first 2 sets, making sure I'm rested enough between sets as well. I'm not a body builder or powerlifter though. I always start with 10-15 minutes of stretching and light warmups with no weight, before that though, but that might not be necessary for everyone. I'm just especially creaky and stiff…

I'd get it checked first. At least you'll know exactly what you're dealing with and how to work around it if necessary.
-
You need to demand links/sources/Op-eds yada yada :D Legs n lungs for me today.
-
Funding someone's bonus I'd imagine. geez....

I'm only stating this for sake of discussion, not to argue or try to correct. :) I get the feeling that some folks conflate "building" muscle with strengthening existing muscle. I'll use my wife as an example: 5' tall, no definition at all, none, as of about 8 weeks ago. 53 years old and has never weight lifted ever. She's…

Body weight training can be grueling, you may have overdone it. Just like I did my first time lol. I had to tone it down and work my way up - still working after a year plus, but have made some very satisfying gains.

My wife goes out of her gourd when she sees those infommercials. :D The good news is that you can absolutely get stronger on a deficit, no question or debate. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. I've only dropped about 14lbs, but have been doing a combination of strength and body weight training for a year + now and feel…
-
You'll get there. My wife and daughter are facing exactly the same thing right now, but as they continue at a deficit the extra is leaving and the difference is showing. They both strength train together, they (nor anyone) can really choose where the fat will come off first.

I'm a couple of years older than you OP and am glad I opted for natural all the way after hearing that. One of the primary reasons I've gone the way I have is one bad experience with a supplement (not exactly the same I know) highlighted the brutal fact that I just don't know enough to make a really informed call on these…

heh, I love leg days. They help me to not take myself so seriously. :D
-
Repeatable. I can prove it lol. OP - great advice here. One thing I would add is that you may have to try several methods/programs in order to find your preferred style. I started with a hypertrophy routine, moved to bodyweight (which I love) and then to strength training with 5x5, and now do a mix of strength and…

I'm an old fashioned social media hater. That bit out of the way, I'm hooked up with quite a few here that are just good, solid people. We chat, banter and encourage back and forth and always offer support with our common goals. Doesn't mean I'm going to open a FB account or any of that lol, but the folks I "met" here -…

Athlean X is the best I've seen. His programs cost, but he has tons of free videos up as well. And although I've never used them, I've watched Fitnessblender as well and their videos look great.

Thanks for the input @Z_I_L_L_A - I'm going to try the bee propolis. First I've ever heard of it, but webmd and other sites say it's pretty widely used as an anti-inflammatory and I'm betting that's all I need. I started doing mobility exercises and I'll be adding to that routine as time goes on. 57 by the way. never had…
-
@Sumiblue - The exercises in the first video I posted have actually made a nice difference for me. I wonder if they might for you? He's a slow talker, but really seems to know how to ease the pain. I hope you enjoy some relief soon.

Anti inflammatory is/was my next step. I'll tr anything before taking more pills though. I'm not against them by any means, I just like to keep them limited where able. :)
-
I've put on 2.5 lbs (2 week average) and I need to not eat as much fun food as I have been..... ALL food is fun to me by the way lol, I just got a touch carried away here and there...
-
Congratulations on the 20kg loss! :)
-
I cannot say I am surprised LOL! I'm going to be going the same route. I stumbled across his videos searching for tips on injury prevention but I haven't seen anything yet that I don't like. I will most likely buy some of those programs as well
-
Aye - he's pretty much my only go to on youtube now. :)
-
-I eat more when bored. -I will NOT wither and die if I don't eat that cupcake RIGHT NOW! LoL -I can indeed say no and moderate my intake, and feel good about it. -I was more self conscious about my appearance than I was willing to acknowledge. _I'm a damn good cook. -Food prep doesn't take long, unless I need a convenient…

I'm murdering a macadamia and white chocolate cookie (6" across!) as I type this. I might have to go get another one too..

:)

Agreed. Those are the people who will argue with you when you try to train them. OP - you look fantastic. Go with it I say.
-
@CarlydogsMom Yw and thank you. I have to say it. they just don't make music like they used to :D There - it's been said lol.
-
I wanted to say thanks for the suggestions folks. The landmine presses are now a favorite. Palms facing each other didn't work out too well, but progress was made. Cheers :)

Glad you did - memories :)
