I restarted my journey at the start of the year really strong, however I kind of fell off the wagon and stalled during February and March, but at least I did not lose all my progress. I love these challenges, when I was losing a few years ago, they kept me accountable and gave me something to work towards. MFP Start Weightโฆ

ooh, this looks like fun!! Finally, something to challenge myself with and stay motivated! I have about 100 to lose, but 20 by labor day would be a good challenge!

10 weeks ago I felt the same way about a speedo. But it took trying waterpolo to get me into a Speedo and honestly they are so much better than the jammers are. So much more leg movement

I have been competitively swimming since 6th grade, so about 8 years now. I would definitely recommend an instructor, as in injuries are pretty common with improper form.

This was explained a couple of times earlier in the post. An average women is shorter than a average man. Therefore, to fit in the ride safely, on average different weights are set as the maximum. If a short, 225 pound man came to a ride and did not fit, he would not be allowed to ride over a 6'2 woman who was 225, yetโฆ

This is exactly what I am thinking. If you need a candy bar, a pack of cookies, or a donut, it can come out of your other funds.
-
If the doctor recommends 2,500 definitely go with it. It sounds like the doctor wants the weight to come off quickly in order to stop any life threatening health effects
-
I believe that if you really want some treat, then you should be able to put a few dollars down for that donut, cookie, candy, mcDonalds, or glass of wine... if you are not able to afford it, then sorry. You should not feel so entitled that the government needs to pay for your indulgences that are not necessary for life.โฆ

Sacramento area as well

I am a total nerd. I love gaming, am learning French, Italian, and Spanish in my spare time, and spend the rest of my time catering for my insects and plants. (Yes I collect both) I have about 70 pounds left to lose.
-
Definitely. People who are more at risk should pay more. As a young male, I pay more for car insurance then almost everybody. The same should apply to healthcare.
-
That is why I always make a point to check in the drive through, in front of the window where you get your food before driving away
-
This is why you need the "magical doctor" he can cure anything except himself

This actually applied to me. I am a competitive swimmer, and in one season without counting calories, I went from 238 to 217 pounds in about 6 months. It all came back as soon after the season was completed though.
-
Ah I understand where you are coming from. Thank you for clearing it up.

It still comes down to CICO. Some medical conditions may cause the CO to lower, leading to weight gain, but obesity is still caused by eating over the amount of calories being burned.
-
I noticed that veins in my arms are a lot more prominent then they were when I was at my heaviest.

This is my absolute favorite cardio exercise. Of course, I may be biased as I have been swimming competitively for my 7 years. Swimming can be an amazing workout if you are able to get your heart rate up. Butterfly is the best stroke to achieve this, but be very careful, as you can injure yourself easily with improper form.

This sounds excellent. I think I will start to eat a little more before practice so I can fuel up.
