  • Restarting again and would love to have more friends! Looking to lose about 30 pounds
  • Hi all! My computer died and I've been without one for a couple weeks. Back up and running now. Last week I only made it to the gym once but I did manage to get in a 5 mile paddle in my kayak yesterday. I think I lost about 5 pounds via sweating. So much humidity! I am having a battle with myself to not go to Target and…
  • Hello everyone! So happy to find this group! I could use some extra motivation. Trying to log every day and go to the gym 3 times a week and give up soda. The gym is literally the next building beside my apartment and I'm off work until the school year starts up in August so I have no excuses but I'm really good at coming…
  • I have been struggling with being sick off and on since January (teacher life). I'm finally feeling better and went to the gym for the first time in awhile. I jogged for 10 minutes without stopping. I have struggled with a mental block for the longest time and have not been able to jog longer than 5 minutes without…
  • I ran for a whole 2 minutes! Tomorrow I’m going to try 3 and so in until I beat the mental block holding me back.
  • I went to the gym for the first time since August and didn't feel like I was going to die.....
  • I'm back after a bit of a break! Looking for people to support and motivate.
  • Not sure where you live but our state passed a law last year saying that it is mandatory to teach cursive in third grade and then samples in the upper elementary grades must be kept to prove they know it. My school's always taught before this law came about because the kids are so excited to learn it. So sad that it's no…
  • I went over my calories yesterday but I logged it anyway. Normally I would give up logging for the day when I know I'm going to go over. I just couldn't say no to homemade buttermilk waffles so I know I'm going over again today but still plan on logging.
  • I've recently gained quite a few pounds over the summer and we all officially started back at work this week (teacher). 2 people commented on how I look like I've lost so much weight and that my stomach must be so flat now (I must've been wearing a really flattering shirt because it's no where near that). I was reminded…
  • This week has been the most exercise I've gotten so far on my journey. 9.59 miles paddling the kayak and 7.6 miles on the elliptical this week. Looking forward to trying to keep this up!
  • So, I fell off the wagon hard for about 3 weeks (yay training for work that required 2 hours commuting each day!) but I started the week of right with a 4.91 mile kayaking trip and 2 days at the gym and am feeling awesome!
  • Today I dragged myself out of bed even though I was very sore from fighting the current during yesterday's kayak trip and ended up jogging 1/2 a mile and walking an additional .98. I shaved another minute and 6 seconds off my total mile time! I'm getting faster and stronger.
  • 3 NSVs for today. 1. I went to the gym today and ran more of a mile than walked for the first time ever. I also shaved 1:37 off my mile time. 2. I felt like giving up halfway through my elliptical workout after hitting the treadmill and pushed through it! 3. I've finally realized that for me it is now more of a mental…
  • I'm just starting to run/walk again this month. I have a goal of 30 miles although with going out of state for 4 days and training for 2 weeks out of town we'll see if I make it that far.
  • My July goal is to log my calories everyday even if I go over. Well, Day 1 of July yesterday I went over. Instead of ignoring it like I usually do and leaving things out I put every single calorie in.
  • I dragged myself out of bed this morning on my day off and went to the gym and did a total of 3.68 miles walking/attempting to jog.
  • So, I'm teaching summer school and today during whole group reading in the middle of me reading a story this little boy grabs my calf and says "OMG her legs are ALL MUSCLES!" which obviously interrupted what we were doing and got the class going, which was quickly stopped. Then after the kids left I got to thinking and…
  • Thank you! my iPhone is always on silent. I'll try to remember that tomorrow when I do Day 2 tomorrow.
  • Thank you! That helped. Will test it out tomorrow :)
  • Hi! I'm Sam and I'm from North Carolina. I'm about halfway through my weight loss journey and have always wanted to take up running. I bought some really good running shoes and did Day 1 today! Hope to do day 2 tomorrow!
  • I bought like actual running shoes yesterday for the first time and broke them in by doing day one of C25K. Hopefully I won't jinx myself by saying this but the ankle pain I've been experiencing at the gym lately was non-existent with my new shoes. Also quick question for all you C25Kers: The app I was using for C25K did…
  • I've been eating horribly lately and went on a junk food kick when I went shopping recently. Well, something clicked today and as I was reaching for the M&Ms I realized I didn't really need/want all this sugary candy. I threw away 3 full size Hershey's bars and a family size bag of peanut butter M&Ms. I'm hoping I can now…
  • I made it to the gym for the second time this week and talked myself into doing 5 more minutes than normal on the elliptical. Accomplished that and then also without thinking did 5 more minutes than usual on both the bike and treadmill. Also, between Sunday's kayaking trip and the gym Monday and today I've already hit my…
  • I went to the gym for the first time in a month. I was prepared to be struggling and out of breath. I ended up doing 30 minutes on the elliptical without a water break! (never could do that before) and walking on the treadmill at an incline for 5 minutes than I usually could.
  • I went kayaking for the first time in a while. It was a long 5 mile paddle and I could've kept going but dad wanted to turn around. Last year when I would go my muscles would hurt. Not anymore!
  • I'm up for this, however I usually don't count my steps on weekends so I may be missing some days. Daily Goal is 8,000 steps. 160,000 goal for the month. June 1- 9,028 June 2- 8,069 June 3- 3,622 (weekend day) June 5- 8,786 June 6- 8,287 June 7- 10,052 June 8- 10,011 June 9- 12,164 Total: 78,442
  • I no longer crave chips or chocolate. I used to have to have chocolate every day. Now the jar of Dove minis just sits for days on the counter without me opening it.
  • I do not like tea or coffee and usually my go to for caffeine is a soda in the morning. I have not had a soda in 4 days and no longer really crave it! Fingers crossed I can finally kick the habit with out relapsing again.
  • I went to the gym twice in a row! That never happens :) This morning I also discovered my belt needs to be tightened one more hole. Only 2 more holes before I need another one!
