Went shopping for new work clothes a couple weeks ago and I actually had fun. I am only down about a size but I felt so good trying on clothes. It has been YEARS since I had fun clothes shopping!20

Turning sideways and not seeing 2-3 stomachs anymore.23

Woo-hoo! Completed Week 4 Day 1 of C25K. Two 3-minute runs and two 5-minute runs.
During the first five minute run, I thought I was going to keel over. My son was begging to stop but we kept going. Somehow.
During the second five minute run, I could not believe how long five minutes can be. But we kept plodding along and completed the workout.
No idea how.
But we did it.
And I, at least, am looking forward to doing it all again on Monday. Hopefully it'll be a tad easier.

I didn't order French fries with my salad. Winning!32

I had only a cup of expresso Wed and no caffeine Thu & Fri I know, not a long streak yet but for me it's unusual. I'll still have coffee on the weekend, but during the week I really need to focus on water intake!13

Ran a 5K this morning. Usually I make the mistake of leaving the gate hard and regretting it around the 4km mark. This time I kept a pretty even pace. I ended up second in my age group, 14th of 167 overall, and recorded only my second ever sub 25 time. I was happily surprised.43

I found pants and shorts in my closet that I bought for last summer which were too tight at the time (mistakenly bought the wrong size), but now I can wear them c:18

Totally posted this in the wrong thread....try this again!
I've shopped at H&M for awhile, but I don't think I've ever purchased anything from there that actually had a numbered size. I feel like everything I've ever purchased has been a "S,M,L,XL." The stuff with the numbered sizing never seemed to fit right when I was small, and as I got larger I just don't think I fit in any of their largest numbered sizes. You know how it is the "s,m,l,xl " stuff usually has some stretch to it, whereas their numbered stuff tends to be the more tailored pieces.
But I just bought my first numbered size shirt from H&M yesterday, and in a 10 no less! The scale just finally started to move again after literally being at a standstill for months, and while I've dropped sizes on the bottom the top/midsection has just refused to lose an inch! The button down blouse was sleeveless, lol so I'm sure if it had sleeves I probably wouldn't be able to get in a 10 as my upper arms are just as stubborn as my middle and won't shrink! But I'm still in a 10 top! It's a hair snug across my shoulders, but the 12 was way too big so I'm sure the 10 will fit perfectly in a few weeks.
I've been feeling a bit defeated due to the non-movement of the scale, so I REALLY needed this NSV to let me know that yes I'm making progress. Excited!24 -
I was just looking through some old photos and I really am happy with how things are going now - even though I've actually gained slightly since January. I have been mostly sticking to deficit since Monday and I've worked out 6 days in a row (hooray for rest day tomorrow).

The past week has been very challenging with some unexpected health issues.
In the past, when circumstances were stressful, I would have come home and tell myself I deserved a glass or wine and probably a second and third after the rough day I'd had. This week, I thought about it briefly and very quickly dismissed the idea of having a glass. Didn't appeal to me and definitely didn't want the empty calories.
That definitely was a NSV for me.26 -

I have stalled the past 10 days, gained 4 lbs!
Back up to 208lbs in my birthday suit.
WTF?
This morning with hubby to his doctors appointment.
(He had lost 7 lbs in 4 months! Yeah baby!)
Decided to check on the doctor's scale my weight. 203 lbs?!?! With heavy blue jeans AND my heavy clogs on ?!?!
Wait.... I lost 5 -10 lbs in 15 minutes???
WTF?
Tech suggested my scale may be out of calibration or even broken.
Went home put my 10 lb weight on my scale multiple times.
The scale said 10lbs,15lbs, and even 17lbs!
Then tried to recalibrate it.
18,19,11,13,10,9, ummmmm no.
I threw out my scale!
Yes, I took fiendish delight in tossing that sucker!
That dear folks is my current
"NO SCALE " victory !
This made me laugh out loud!!
TOO FUNNY!!!!! You are quite a story teller! LAughing!!!!!3 -
I found my confidence again. While still being 214 pounds. I'll wear shorts if I want to!30

This seems really small...I eat/ate fast food a lot and since cutting back and cooking at home I've been excited by the reduction in trash and an increase in veggie scraps for my compost.36

I decided to jog a bit during my walk yesterday and it felt great! I think my body forgot I could jog and then went "oh hey, this is actually really nice". So silly.24

I don't know if it's because of all the wholesome, nutritious food over the last four months or the fact that my body is smaller so by comparison it looks longer, but my hair seems to have doubled in volume! It hadn't really grown much over the last few years, and was something that I often thought about as I used to have lots of bouncy long hair, and I missed it. But now it seems to be growing like mad, and is really shiny and soft - hooray for healthy food, it's not just our waistlines that feel the benefits36

I've been a bit annoyed with myself recently as the last two mornings I've slept through the alarm. If I don't get to the gym early (~5.30am) then it gets packed and I hate being in the gym with lots of other people.
So, the alarm went off at just before 5am. I switched it off and I thought, I'll just wake up . . . . Drifting back to sleep when I hear this really odd sound. Start getting annoyed as I thought it was my daughter doing stupid things on her tablet. Nope. The sound gets louder and louder (and more annoying) and I realise that my DH has set HIS alarm to ensure that I get up - this was a nice thing to do as I was really annoyed about missing the previous two mornings, so he was trying to help me.
But he hadn't figured out how to turn the darn thing off. It's getting louder. Panicking in case the children wake up. It's louder. And louder. He's fumbling with it and cannot turn it off. He grabs the phone and runs downstairs with it and eventually figures it out. He crashes back into bed, bless him. I don't think that he intended to get up at 5am, not really.
Gotta love him
I get up. Brushing my teeth and I can hear RAIN. I can hear cars sploshing though rain. Uh-oh, I think, this is not looking good.
Go downstairs. Yep, it's raining. Right, that means no bike ride this morning and I'll have to take the car. Grrrr.
Now I'm annoyed. I like riding my bike to the gym. Means that I don't have to use the cardio machines to warm up. Ah well.
Go outside. Rain. But not too bad.
Decide to get the bike out. The rain has slowed to very light. Overhead is grey cloud, no breaks in it. Think, what the heck, if I get wet, I get wet. Big deal. I'll go to the gym, do my workout, cycle home and if I'm soaked I'll just jump in the bath.
On the way to the gym, it stops (but not before my vision is almost totally obscured by raindrops on my glasses).
Do my workout, back out to the bike. Rain has stopped. It's 6.30am, everyone at home will still be in bed. Decide to go for a proper cycle ride, rather than just cycle three miles home.
I cycled 25 miles. The sun broke through the clouds towards the end, otherwise I'd have stayed out longer - I have extreme photo-sensitivity due to a medication and cannot be exposed to the sun for very long without sunblock, otherwise I'm burned to a crisp.
I haven't done a long cycle ride for what seems weeks (just checked, it was four days ago) and it felt so good!
Wanted a bath but found teenage daughter hogging it so I'll have to wait until later. Something else to look forward to.
And if the weather holds, I may go out on the bike again. Just because.

I've found this too! Only 3 weeks in and my hair had had a major growth spurt and feels so soft!10 -
Was able to buy a large shirt yesterday. It's been over 30 years since I wore a large.23

Labs two days ago show I'm no longer prediabetic with an A1C of 5.5, cholesterol has dropped 70 points to 202, triglycerides from 190 to 97, blood pressure normal. It's the most incredible feeling to finally have healthy numbers. Makes me want to keep going and going on this journey.43

My most recent NSV is being able to order clothes online or walking into a store and picking up clothes without trying them on and everything fits when I get home.30

Congrats! I know the struggle is real when it comes to sugar. Today is day 1 of no added sugar for me.11 -
My energy is pretty good again, and stable all day!!13
-
More stamina, plus I realized I haven't had a craving for pure sugar on anything. I haven't put sugar on anything for the past three months.
I used to put sugar in everything.15 -
I no longer crave chips or chocolate. I used to have to have chocolate every day. Now the jar of Dove minis just sits for days on the counter without me opening it.16
-
Ate a big cookie the other day within calories and realized how sweet it really was and how I didn't like all that sugar that much anymore21

I stuck to my diet all week for two weeks and hit all of my exercise goals. I love it when non-scale victories turn into on-scale victories! I hit my yoga class two weeks in a row and love it.24

I went to a baby shower yesterday and was able to show restraint that surprised myself. I had a sensible portion of baked ziti and eggplant parm with one meatball and salad. A year ago I would've loaded up my plate and gone back for seconds. I experience FOMO pretty seriously so in the past I've always felt like I was going to be missing something or deprived in some way if I didn't take advantage of free food (I think I might've been malnourished in another life; no justification for the FOMO effect) in social situations. I was so proud yesterday that I was able to partake in the celebration and eat some very tasty food without going overboard. I call that a NSV35

@sarahthes You seem to have misplaced your double chin...
Here's to hoping you never find it again
That's some amazing progress those pictures are showing. Keep it up!21
