  • See above. I forgot to tag you
  • Just parm and egg! Works amazingly. Got it from Maria Emmerich’s Keto Comfort foods. Excuse my changes in pencil, I had to adjust the recipe because I thawed out too many pork chops! 😂
  • Congrats on your first week of success! Do know, that the first week or two will show the most drastic and fastest loss. Most of it is water weight. Not that that should deter you at all! Just don’t get discouraged when your next few weeks show lower numbers. Keep it up and it will steadily come off. Some people get upset…
  • Saffron cauliflower rice and grilled Mediterranean chicken kabobs!
  • Sorry for the disjointed comments. Strips are useful in the beginning to show your body is make ketones... it basically just lets you know you are eating low enough carbs to start making the ketones. But after you are fat adapted, it isn’t a good measure. If you drink exo-ketones or those ketone products, measuring pee is…
  • By the way, DONT BUY YOUR KETONE STRIPS from a third party store. I bought some from a vitamin/supplement store because it was just convenient to pop on and buy them. Little did I know, that bottle had sat on their shelf a year and the strips expired shortly after I bought the bottle. Always buy from the meter…
  • I test my blood. I have a keto mojo. It is helpful when I want to test a food item I’m unsure about. I also have epilepsy so knowing my kgi is important. In the beginning of your low carb journey you will be peeing out a lot of ketones and make that strip super dark. Once your body starts making and using the ketones…
  • No problem! Another key thing to realize when you are actually hungry and when your body is just carb craving. Right now I’m feeling hunger, but I’m on day two of getting back into Ketosis and I’m craving hard core. I keep getting hunger pains that go in waves - hint: real hunger doesn’t come an go. I also know that I had…
  • Yes! That is me! I’m doing great. Little slip up but other than that I’ve been thriving on low carb. I’m back to making yummy keto desserts!
  • I’ve been low carb since 2016. My biggest advice is to not over think it (with the counting and math) or over “substitute”. You don’t need to perform kitchen voodoo with crazy hard to find ingredients.... you don’t need a Masters in Mathmatics either. I began my journey at 5’4” and around 145. I started by just eating…
  • Girl, I'm in the same damn boat! I'm using intermittent fasting. I drink some keto coffee, sometimes two cups, to get me though till dinner and then I eat until I'm full and satisfied. I also drink lots of water. I'm actually not feeling hungry, but if I'm sitting still I get the urge to eat. Buts it's boredom eating.
  • I may also include celery root, as it is pretty low carb. If you want more color to in your meal (to make up for the lack of carrots), use a colored cauliflower!
  • Wow! Thx for the clarification! By the way, I'm not considering going back anytime soon or even ever. I was just curious about some things I was seeing.
  • Wish I could, but I have two slipped disks from my last pregnancy/Labor. I'd just end up hurting myself.
  • My phone auto corrected me.
  • I meant to say "it is interesting that these tests AREN'T done..."
  • I just watched the fat head video about this! It is interesting that these tests are done before handing out the pills. I told my doc that I would NEVER take statins. They are dangerous in my opinion. He tried to tell me that while there is a very rare minuet chance of a bad reaction, it practically never happens and I'd…
  • Way to go!! I'm glad to see such positive results in someone! I've seen good results for myself in my three Keto weeks, but it is so reassuring to see someone with great results too! Further proof and motivation! Here is my results thus far: Week one: Down 7 Pounds, down 1 inch Week two: up 2 pounds, down 1 inch Week three…
  • I'm not sure but it is the only thing that has changed. I'll test again in three months then I'll post my December, February, and may results. If I continue, I'll have another year in 3-6 months depending on what the may results are.
  • My doc didn't tell me and I'm going to have to request a copy of the records. The diet test in December was from an urgent care visit that started all this. But they did tell me that my tri's were really high.
  • I skip breakfast, sort of. I make myself a brunch everyday. So, I eat dinner then don't eat again until noon the next day. I love breakfast food, so it makes a great option to break my fasting. Since it is two meals in one, I make it pretty big. Skipping breakfast works for me because my mornings are so hectic, and I've…
  • Good luck! Remember that water and salt is super important!
  • Yes! So gross! Not even worth it! Miller 64 is tolerable though. Oh and ultra amber is decent too! All under 3 carbs. I just make sure it is in my total % of carbs.
  • To avoid the scale messing with your head, weigh yourself only monthly or weekly at most. Use measurements and Keto sticks also.. the scale can be so fickle.
  • Grilled ribeye. Herbed Cauliflower rice, and broccoli in a garlic butter sauce.
  • When I was breastfeeding, I found that high fat, hydration, and adequate calories was the key. Why I dieted traditionally, my fat content was too low and my doc made me start eating ribeye. I was anemic too. The addition of high fats made my milk come in strong and full. Baby's weight responded well. Make sure you get your…
  • Oh and if I have the carbs to use, I'll add cinnamon and sometimes even cocoa powder and make Keto mocha latte! Use 100% unsweetened high quality cocoa.
