  • I shared my pics on my feed and others were able to point out some changes that I myself couldn't see. Maybe that's an option, especially if seeing the photos might put you down in the dumps. As for me, even though the last 5 months was an unplanned recomp, it proved what everyone said... I won't see enough change/it's too…
  • I know several people who are on steroids for things like lupus and Addison's. I think it depends on how you react and lifestyle. The lady I know who didn't really watch what she ate and never exercised gained a ton of weight. The lady who is pretty conscious about food and is very active didn't. Hopefully it will help. My…
  • @maybyn I'm more like you. I don't get caught out places because 1. I'm a homebody and don't venture far lol and 2. I have items stashed everywhere just in case. It's gotten better, but ever since I had my third child I'm all over the place. Late. Early. Stable. Out of control. Feel fine. Lots of pain. Never know what to…
  • My dog, I kid you not, has his own leather chair, yet wants to sit on every other chair in the house. But that's my only beef. Otherwise he just chills all day long and only barks when he is ready to go back outside. I can't comment on smell as my nose is permanently stuffed up. But my husband wants a puppy... I'm still on…
  • Search myers-briggs test online. I fit the above description, except no cats around here. I'm extremely allergic. *Achoooooo* I'm not sure if my break last week counted as a diet break, but it was certainly a break. I was home sick all week. Returned to the gym yesterday and deficit eating Saturday. Feeling better and…
  • Is this adults who develop eczema as adults or who still have eczema as adults if they had it as children? I've never heard this before. I also have eczema though it's been mild lately and I typically deal with more dry cracked bleeding skin than I ever did before.
  • Exactly. A short time only and then lots of recovery time. Feel like there are so many downsides to being an introvert and it seems to upset other people a lot.
  • I was reading that this is the most rare personality type @Nony_Mouse I'm a ISFJ. I love Myers Briggs stuff. Are we just a big bunch of introverts in here?
  • So more results since you've added in refeeds?!?
  • I can at least blame babies and genetics. I did not stretch well at all. And with every pregnancy my belly expanded, giving me new stretch marks. And the babies just hot bigger and bigger. And I had my babies really young (3 before I turned 26) so...
  • I've been called peanut long before I had kids due to a small bladder. Now, though, please warn me before saying something funny so I can cross my legs. Also, sneezes please don't catch me off guard. There are some no no exercises for me like anything jumping. And I usually have to pee between sets of squats and deads,…
  • Same for me. 1200 is barely sustainable for me in a deficit and I'm a short female. Some people I think kind of put themselves in this position: if they are chronic dieters, or have only eaten at those levels for so many years, or refuse to try to eat more out of fear. I think that's the helpful things about diet breaks…
  • This is incredible. I want both these results and the ability to pay attention to and track details.
  • We've already had several snows here so I'm guessing a white Christmas. I had a friend from NZ who was so excited for a winter Christmas. Oh course she lived in South Carolina which isn't the snowiest part of the US but it was still enough of a change and she was happy. I was supposed to be at the beach this week but…
  • This is incredible! I'm going to print it out and hang it up as a reminder. Likewise, an amazing thought. I almost can't even remember that part of my life, at least honestly or realistically, but I do know I would be impressed with myself. Or at least impressed I didn't give up on myself. Thanks @anubis609 and @bioklutz
  • Trying to work on that patience! I'm not sure I could even admit my age after my comment.
  • Yeah my bitterness shone right through on that one, sorry. I'm at 5-10 pounds above the healthy BMI and probably 30% body fat. I'm also extremely impatient apparently. I should probably change my mindset about it, eh?
  • I'm female and pretty disconnected with the actual number on the scale. I have a hate/love relationship with articles like these. I've been trying to lose weight since 2012, and trying to lose fat by barbell training and macros, etc for 2 years. I'm less fat but still more looking like the "before before" photos. Big fan…
  • I completely understand this. I'm 5'4" and weigh about 150. Most of my fat is on my belly (probably a combination of where I genetically hold fat and having children/stretched skin). It's very disheartening. But I know over time I can make changes. However it won't happen like how you lost the weight (bolded). Severely…
  • OP, are you sure you never lost at all? Or did you bounce back and forth within a few pounds and basically make no progress. I said I didn't make progress for years when in reality, once I looked at it, I just yo-yo'd but never made it past a point that felt like I was losing weight.
  • Pick one thing to change at a time and do that until it's second nature. Make sure the change isn't too dramatic. Baby steps.
  • 1. Eat more in general 2. Eat more protein 3. Have a good balance of carbs and fats 4. Eat more frequently thru the day (this helps with low blood sugar)
  • A few months is a drop in the bucket. Long term progressive overload is where you will see change. Doing an upper body only routine seems like a waste of time.
  • +1 Excellent advice
  • Me too! Except heading into winter so hiking on the decrease :(
  • Loooove it. @anubis609 pass along any more :)
  • Oh, I also meant to say that I love this thread. Reading some of the awful advice on the forums has always been hard but it's especially harder now!
  • Listened to the first one. Very good. Not sure how to apply, as I try to keep things as simple as possible. I'm not sure if I want to change things around depending on the week. But it helps me understand myself: why I struggle with my blood sugar at certain times, or why I can be extra clumsy. I had already switched over…
  • Thanks @Nony_Mouse I actually did a whole month at maintenance in September. I will do another maintenance break here in November while I'm on vacation, and possibly through Thanksgiving.
  • I finally listened to this video! Lyle even mentions the mistake of dieting harder. Even after listening to this, I'm still wondering if refeeds apply to me. I have been dieting on and off for 5+ years and just now am at ~30% estimated body fat. But I stopped making progress and the deficit was just too low for me to…
