A vacuum cleaner. Started out shopping for a cordless stick model with the mind-set of paying extra for better quality, but then reverted to my cheap-o self and instead bought a corded upright Bissell for $106 from Amazon. 4.7 stars, 49K+ ratings. Good enough for me.

I've been overweight pretty much my whole life, so have always had diet sodas. I went from drinking Tab back in the 70's, to Diet Coke when it came out, and lastly Coke Zero. My soda consumption was mainly at work and at restaurants. But now that I'm no longer working and seldom eat out anymore, I've pretty much stopped…

It's not an on/off toggle. Instead, you need to "move" the check mark by clicking on Garmin Connect to select it as your tracking device.

I remember eating a lot of PBJ sandwiches while growing up, usually with potato chips (a good sweet and salty combo) and a glass of milk. Another favorite was eating Fluffernutter sandwiches which are made with Peanut Butter and Marshmallow Fluff. Yum! I still enjoy PBJ sandwiches now and again, but sometimes if I want…

I don't normally have paper plates on hand, but I oftentimes use paper towels as a "plate" for something like a non-messy sandwich, or facial tissue for snacks like cookies. Shake off the crumbs and they're good to use for their original purpose.

For anyone who likes humor with their "adult" books, check out the Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland trilogy (avl in book or audio form).

Me too for daily weigh-ins. I just use the built-in MFP graph to monitor my weight trend.

Early this year I got PF in my right foot to where I couldn't put any pressure on it after being inactive for a short while, until I limped around enough to loosen things up. I watched a video about calf muscle stretches and using a rod as a roller for the bottom of the feet. Then it dawned on me that I have a built in…

You're welcome, glad you got it sorted out! :)

Have you tried using the steps I described in an earlier post? (copied below for reference)

Well, I'm not in maintenance now, but about 6 years ago when my sister and I were trying to decide where to go for a vacation I asked her if she'd be interested in exploring a cave. She was, and that started us doing a yearly vacation with an adventure component. Wild Cave Tour - Mammoth Cave National Park. (Talk about…

I just took a look on my android phone and figured out you need to have added a device, then you'd select the connected device to move the check mark from the "Don't track steps" to the connected device. And if the check mark is on the connected device you can select "Don't track steps" to move it back to that option if…

Hi, are you looking for your SparkPeople friends? I don't think there's a member search function on MFP. An option that might work for you is to click on Search and enter "SparkPeople" to bring up a list of forum posts you can scroll through to see if you recognize any user names. Or maybe there's a better way that someone…

For a youtube video select share, then select copy (to copy the auto-populated link). Then paste that link directly into your message. You can check that the video shows up correctly in preview mode before posting it.

I mostly freestyle and jog in place on the rebounder while watching TV. This is the video that got me started. https://youtu.be/XHLdcEgB0co

Don't forget to count the protein you'd get from the other 4 food groups.

The serving size you'd enter is your portion size divided by the serving size of the recorded item. For example, if your portion size was 2.75 oz you'd enter .79 as the serving size (2.75/3.5=.79). Or, if your portion size was 4 oz, then you'd enter 1.14 as the serving size (4/3.5=1.14).

Sounds like you're all doing great! My walk/run yesterday was at the exact same pace as last time, but felt harder than before. For tomorrow's run I'm going to see if I can get started before sunrise. We'll see how that goes. 😆 Someone earlier mentioned looking for certain models of running shoes. Something to consider is…

Hi fellow Texan, and welcome to MFP. You're definitely on the right path with tracking and logging what you eat. Your low calorie goal is of concern though. How did you come up with that number? My understanding is the recommended minimum for a male is 1500 calories. That may even be too low for you after you also take…

Hi Pattie, The internet is full of recipe ideas, including a recipes forum here on MFP. Also lots of good food ideas crop up during conversations in the other forums. I'd like to add, though, that as you're tracking calories you may find that you might not need to rely heavily on low-cal recipes so much as reducing…

I agree it's weird. But I'm finding myself in this situation now. During my last weight gain I indulged in feeling-sorry-for-myself and boredom eating, and constantly seeking that big turkey-dinner, over-stuffed feeling. A snack would be a whole bag of chips with a container of dip, multiple bowls of sugary cereal, a few…

Hi everyone, how's the running going? I managed to get a run/walk in this morning between scattered showers. Hot and humid pretty much describes it, with lots more walking than running. I've been working on trying to increase my overall combined run/walk pace. Today I averaged a 16:40/mi pace over 4.24 miles on a mostly…

Welcome. As for navigating I find some things on MFP are easier to do on the PC while other things are easier using the phone, so a combination of both works best for me.
