Darn, with someone had told my folks this 60 years ago. I wouldn't have had to take care of the cows before school in the mornings. I could have slept in another hour. o:)

Much All? of WW is still based on energy density. The gal who wrote the book on ED was the one who helped them design the points plus program. So, most things low in liquid are higher points. And they used to allow us to deduct a point for fiber, so we would pick out foods with the most fiber. I find calorie counting much…

Loved your post. I was fine until I hit my 60's and quit smoking. After that, I tried just about every diet I could find and none were either successful or something I could imagine doing the rest of my life. WW did teach me how to guesstimate portions, and low carb took the weight off the best. But both felt too much like…

I had to put a filter on the kitchen tap when I moved to this part of Oregon because I was getting the runs from the water here. My new Dr. here told me not to drink the water unless it was filtered. Put a filter on and my symptoms disappeared within 24 hours. So, I agree it depends on where you live.

Mine does the same thing. No clue why.

There is a book "Calorie Queens" it is about a mother and daughter. One lost 100lbs the other 50 lbs doing exactly that. As I understand it, the mom is married to a doctor, so I doubt he went along with anything that would harm their health. I actually bought that book and also Fat 2 Fit and followed the plan for about a…

My hubby likes to go out quite often. We usually split a food order between us or both of us take doggy boxes home for meals later on. As far as the drinking....... I'm a fan..... scared ya huh..... a shot is about 65 calories of just about any non flavored booze. Most bars will pour about 1.5 shots in a drink. I don't…

I ignore that statement. It is totally worthless. The only way to measure any moving target is to use software that gives a trend line. Search for Hackers Diet online, or if you have an android device download Libre. There is also one for apple products too. Any of these will be able to give you better projections. Also, I…

I hope whatever it is resolves itself soon. You have been doing so well and working so hard. ((Hugs))

I absolutely loved water yoga until our teacher had to quit. That is how I started and inched into more strenuous a bit at a time. Just go and have a ball.

Bookmarking to see how the experiment goes.

Thanks, those were interesting. The other thing that I have noticed, is that when I look at pictures of my ancestors in the 1800's the women who survived childbirths were all "matronly" before they were my age.

I weigh every day and have for years. I bought the PC version of Fitday because over the years, our internet was spotty. I have all my favorites entered in folders, and it not only gives me a weekly average, but also it projects my future weight. I just recently discovered Libra and now I have two to play with. I also like…

One sign in my case is that my normal temp is 96.8 instead of 98.6. And that I managed to gain 30 lbs in 3 months after I quit smoking. I even gained on Atkins induction. now, a loss of a lb. a month is normal if I do everything exactly right.

Mine slowed down, but not as much from aging (I'm 74) not from lack of activity (my jobs have always been hard work last one was as an overnight stocker for Walmart until I was 68. I messed mine up by eating way below my BMR for many many years because I was never hungry when I smoked. At least that is what my Dr. says. I…

Yes, but I do have to limit fruit or I would eat it all day long in excess.

Yep, it was the slimy part that turned me off.

Totally agree. They felt slimy to me.

You found me out. Also, my understanding is that whatever it is in tomatoes that is so healthy can only be absorbed if they are cooked. Not eaten raw. Can peaches instead or pears, or corn, or anything except tomatoes. <3

Thanks for the warning. I too watched that video and thought I might try it. For right now, I'm focusing on stretching and resistance exercises. With my COPD, I get winded just bringing the groceries in from the car. So I try to find stuff where I can sit down and keep the resistance low. There is no way I can fix my…

This seems to have become the pizza thread. I never saw a pizza, let alone ate one until I was an adult. And it is still not one of my favorite foods since I don't like cooked tomatoes. The endless hours scalding, removing the skin, canning as a youth pretty much turned me off.

Verity1111 started a "filthy eating group" come join us.

Pretty cat. Ours is about 14 years old, blind, and overly fond of treats over her expensive cat food. But I figure she is happy even if overweight and the vet says she is healthy.
-
And neither my hubby nor I eat the crust on pizza. Too much starch for him, and I don't like white bread.

That thread is ??? I need to go back and see what started it all. But, I'm afraid it is like the chicken and the egg. Which came first???

Not true. It is all about WE. And I am indeed using we in the royal sense. o:)

We have a cat like that.
