Hi everyone. I've been using the libra app lately, and imported there the data from mfp for the last 3 months. I've been maintaining for the last four months after losing 70 something pounds on mfp, and now decided to cut some more to get a little more definition in my legs. For some reason, as my trend weight is going down and I'm leaning out bit more, my body fat numbers that libra gives me go up?

Lean mass trends down, fat mass trends up? I'm certainly not getting fatter and eating and exercising and not losing any muscle, so wth?0

I don't use Libra (Apple user here) but I wouldn't put much stock into their body fat measurement, depending on how you're getting that number.2

Libra is just doing the math based on what numbers you're putting in. I haven't seen where Libra provides a number for body fat.1

Mine does the same thing. No clue why.0

Are your bodyfat numbers coming from a "smart scale"? If so, the most likely reason is that BIA (bioelectric impedance analysis) is an inaccurate method of measuring bodyfat.1

Do you regularly input body fat percent? Have you ever done so? Libra just does statistical trends based on numbers you input.
If you've never input a BF%, ever, then I'd call what you're describing a bug, and report it to them. If you've ever input a BF%, but don't do so regularly, heaven only knows what happens arithmetically.
I don't believe the BF% my scale gives me, but put it Libra routinely along with my daily weight, just for giggles. I haven't seen Libra do anything mind-blowing with that data: It trends about like I'd expect (haven't checked the math in detail, but magnitude/direction of trend make sense, unlike yours). It still doesn't mean much of anything..

Thank you, everyone for your input. I never put any numbers, other than weight into it. So has to be some sort of a bug or a math mix up. And i agree, it doesn't mean much either way, just seem strange that the direction is reversed.0

I actually just found the spot for it. When you add a weight to the database, underneath it says "body fat". Tap there and it shows a sliding ruler. I'm guessing the number that's already on it is an estimation based on other measurements you've inputted, but you can change it with your own numbers. The trouble there is getting solid numbers to enter in the first place. But anyway, ignore it. Apparently that's what I've been doing all along lol3

Hmm not sure.1
