Wear compression socks or sleeves around your shins/calves, even when you sleep. I found this helped progress the healing process.

I've got the vivoactive HR which doesn't have the feature. Looked into the Fenix more and it does KOM/QOM off Strava as well, that's awesome!
-
I had no idea that there was a Garmin model that did that, I will now have to get it!

I have nerve damage from three surgeries on my once crushed ankle. I've been doing physio for a year now and part of my rehab was acupuncture to stimulate my nerves and get my toes moving. It did seem to help, I got more movement in my toes and then it reached a plateau I felt where it no longer was doing anything. So I…

From Hamilton ON, feel free to add me

Glad I'm not the only diet coke craver after a run! I do reward myself with a big mac after every marathon, on the way home from a marathon, I will stop at McDonald's and get the big mac combo.

Pick up some compression sleeves/socks, I've used that for shin splints.

Your story is like my story, diagnosed with hypo at 17 which progressed to Hashimoto shortly after. Been like that for nearly 30 years. It's not fun but you learn to live with it and learn what can and can't be done. You will need to go gluten free now, that's always fun.....

I've got Hashimoto disease, had it for years. It hasn't really hindered me too much, weight loss takes longer then usual but other then that, I'm pretty active. The only thing that has sidelined me for a long length of time was the crushed ankle.

During the week, I workout in the morning and on the weekends I sleep in and workout in the afternoons.

All of the above!

They're both mind numbing but I definitely prefer the treadmill over the elliptical. But I'm like cwolfman13, I run and bike and the treadmill is a better match for those two. I really do hate the elliptical...

Good luck to you, you've already accomplished so much with your weight loss and running, keep at it!

I'm hypo as well and have been living with hashimoto for years. I was running sub-2 for halfs before my accident. As most have said, you need to get everything balanced. But a couple more things, diet is very important as well, eating the right foods goes a long way. Also, when some women reach certain age, our…
Yup you definitely have it worse than me lol I shattered my ankle and most the pieces were too small to affix so they just took them out and the one screw the did put in broke so now I just have half a broken screw in my ankle but I was looking at the clouds and I'm definitely getting them next thank you
…

I have three pairs of the Cloud and one pair of Cloudflow, I tend use my Cloud ones all the time. I did try on the CloudSurfer and found them snug and the soles made me feel like I was tilting forward, hard to explain but I didn't feel stable.

I LOVE the quick laces, they are so handy and feel great on, don't feel tight or sloppy. I run a 8 in Saucony and New Balance, same with my On runners as well.

I've worn Saucony, New Balance which I both liked but I absolutely love my On runners! I also have two plates and ten screws in my ankle from an accident a year ago and I'm running again. My ROM is far less then you as well and the On runners are amazing. https://www.on-running.com/en-ca/

I prefer to run on a empty stomach in the morning, I'm an evening runner as well but if it's first thing in the morning, I run on empty.

I've got 2 plates and 10 screws in my ankle and post traumatic arthritis. I basically crushed my ankle between my sportbike and a guardrail. Broken sternum and ribs as well. I've had three surgeries, the first one June 2016 and last one 9 months ago where they dug out bone fragments and lengthened my Achilles nearly 4 cms.…

Yes definitely commando, less chance of chafing...

I had the Fitbit Surge and now use the Garmin VivoActive HR. The Garmin is better but none of them are completely accurate. As mentioned already, for more accurate HR, chest strap is the best. But if it's just for HR range and doesn't need to be 100%, I prefer the Garmin.

11 months ago I crushed my ankle between a guardrail and my motorbike, I've got 2 plates and 11 screws. I've had three surgeries so I couldn't weight bear for at least 6 months, leg wasted away with all the atrophy. I had three orthopedic surgeons and even a plastic surgeon tell me that I would probably never run again. 3…

So I've been living with Hashimoto for over 30 years now, it's a love-hate relationship where you constantly have to watch your diet and exercise. It gets harder as you age and things slow down and the weight takes more time to come off, that is to be expected. I never use Hashimoto as a reason to why I can't lose weight,…
