  • "Train to Busan" I watched a few days ago and it's awesome. I also watched "IT" (the original from the '90's) with my hubby and it was pretty creepy - Tim Curry is scary...."they all float down here". Eesh!

  • Super lazy, I have to convince them to go to the gym every single time. Sigh.
  • Steak with whiskey sauce, steamed broccoli, and a salad. Very tasty :)
  • Why not? I wasn't on this site four years ago, does that mean I can't comment? I'd rather necro a thread with opinions in it than to post an entirely new thread... More than a dozen people have responded, so clearly it's interesting and engaging enough that people want to share their opinions.
  • Beef jerky, almonds, maybe some macadamia nuts? Have fun :)
  • I'm wearing a pair of dark wash blue jeans that are honestly getting a little baggy around the waist (woo), had to wear a belt today. Paired with a 3/4 length sleeve button-down blouse (cream colored) with a fitted, black blazer and a pair of flats - but as soon as I'm in for the night (need to walk the dog one more time…
  • While people can appreciate or dislike something someone is wearing based on fit, color, etc., it’s none of our business what anyone else wears, just like it’s no one else’s business what we wear. If that older lady in her cut off shorts is happy, go for it, no one’s forcing me to stare at her butt. I can just look…
  • Had an "off" day Sunday, ended up blowing it on carbs and, while calories were low(er), around 1700, they were higher than my goal for the day. I'll live, just mad at myself. Back on track again.
  • No, no, I still need to fast the mandatory "nothing after midnight" (my surgery is taking place in the morning), but they're telling me that I need to go off-plan in the days surrounding the procedure - there are 16 hours before midnight on the day before, if I get up when I normally do, and at that time they're saying to…
  • His explanation sort of reminded me of my great-grandfather (he would be 126 this year, born in 1891 - but he passed away at the age of 104), he used to tease us when we'd complain as kids. He would say things like how he had to walk barefoot, up hill both ways, in the snow to get to school (silly stuff); but the fact is,…
  • Congratulations :D
  • Fiber is my friend for sure; low carb or not.
  • If you have a regular meal, you can always cut the portion in half if you think it's too much. Chicken salad is a nice change of pace :)
  • Human pride is a funny thing; challenging what someone thinks is "right" can either encourage them to view things differently, or it can drive their beliefs into them like a tick. I've found more people dig in deeper when challenged, even if you have science, numbers, and facts on your side. It's unfortunate, but true.
  • Off topic, (re: google translate) I just watched a clip of Anne Hathaway and Jimmy Fallon singing a song, translated to another language, and then translated back to English again. Very funny.
  • You just triggered the "Is that better?" scene where the Edgar suit is speaking to Edgar's wife, when she says his skin is loose, in Men In Black. LOL.
  • This isn't for just C-sections (I haven't ever had one), but a general "to do" that my doctor suggested after my latest surgery (knee), also suggested for my husband when he had surgery on his shoulder. It's for after the scab has gone and you've got a scar, if you experience numbness: "Place your fingertips gently against…
  • A good day overall, higher calories (but I was low earlier this week, it'll even out at the end of the week), but super low carbs, only 18. That's my lowest day yet. Feeling pretty good about that.
  • http://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/ Great recipes for sweets and snacks - that way rather than indulging in a carb bomb soaked in sugar, I can have something a bit more friendly to the LC WoE. I also love sugar free jello - it's fantastic.
  • I chose her because I prefer communicating in English, sometimes with Danish I feel very limited on how to express myself properly. So the fact that she'd worked with Americans before, and presumably had no issues communicating, was a big factor for me. I had some communication issues with my last doctor, so when I…
  • You could also just tell them straight up: "That was hurtful and rude, you need a filter between your mind and your mouth."
  • I liked my doctor’s online profile; she seemed warm and friendly and she had spent some time in the states, so I thought maybe that would bode well. Unfortunately, her bedside manner is terrible and she blames everything on my weight. Migraines? Nope, it’s sugar crashes according to her…specialists disagreed, made…
  • SW: 282 Today: 277 (it registered as 276.4 once, but I'd rather err on the side of caution) Total lost (so far): 5lbs GW: 150, but anything below 180 is good. I've been at it for 23 days with no cheats, but less than a week on induction carbs (goal is two, then we'll see how I'm feelin')...dun dun dun.
  • I have a closet full of motivation (clothes I'm hanging onto like a hoarder), also women who are trying to conceive have a much easier time doing so if they're at a healthy weight (according to my OBGYN). So there's that. Motivation is not my problem, it's a combination of willpower and breaking seriously bad habits, like…
  • I'm really a skull and crossbones wearing a pink bow with giant, adorable eyes...okay, maybe not, but I like it, it makes me smile, so why not?
  • 50 g, Revet mozzarella 20% - the particular brand is just the budget version at the store I bought it at (Føtex). I imagine any cheese you like would work well in it.
  • I have an ample (though shrinking) SER if the lying scale can be trusted at all.
  • @retirehappy He is 1) male and 2) pretty much at his goal weight, though he's trying to bulk up more (currently has a six pack that he's very happy with). So, yes, we have different nutritional needs. I'll just eat this stuff when he's not around, it's no biggie. And I'm getting some great tips here on how to get a little…
  • Squash Light (from Harboe) - it has between 0-1g of carbs from sugar, and 5 calories per 50cL bottle. Disappointing, but when I have one from time to time (guilty pleasure) I log it as 1 carb, all from sugar. Grumble.
  • I'm eating ample protein, probably too much really. @Cadori Honestly, no, he doesn't know I'm aiming for high fat. See, my husband is still in the "no fat is good fat" mindset; so while he's cool with my protein being high and my carbs being low, he sees fat as evil. If he knew I was trying to increase fat he'd probably…
