May sound silly but we have a Nintendo wii machine with a 'board' thing to play games but if you have the Wii fit software/game which I think might come with it, there is a basic fitness program and it has a great scale. Essentially digital scale I assume but need to 'click' a few things before an actual reading. Anyway,…

Interesting follow up I'm just recognizing that my phone app does add the exercise calories to the daily total but the website version does not??? And further it got the data from the website as that's where I plugged it in. I know they sync to a degree but only one way?? Oh well. Thanks for the feedback!!!
-
No, I think you have it right nutmeg ;-) in terms of the question.
-
Yeah, I can and do add them under the exercise tab but those burned calories do not then get added to the daily totals. There appears to be no mechanism and maybe it is a 'premium' feature?
-
Maybe not
-
Right, but I thought there was a setting that added those burned calories to the daily max?
-
What I don't want is to have MFP say I haven't reached my calorie goal but 50 when I know I've burned several hundred in cardio on a particular day. There must be a way that it can incorporate those into the daily tally?
-
Gotcha! Thanks for all the feedback!
-
I guess what I'm wondering now is does the MFP contemplate the increase in calories from sugar. I assume it does, so I guess the caloric number is the most important and if I'm too far over in sugar it will translate into more calories recorded. Ok I think I've got it.
-
ok, thanks!
-
Despite it being from fruit. Perhaps I'm overthinking this.
-
There is real, (for me), positive reinforcement when I see all my numbers in the green instead of the red and so when I see red in the sugar column I think I'm doing something wrong.
-
Doesn't excess sugar translate into more calories hence hindering weight loss? Even fruit sugar?
-
I ask because i have been getting very consistent low reading on intake except the few days i have an egg or two. I'm wondering is i should try to get closer to the max amount?
-
Thanks everyone!!!
-
I'm sure I'm just not used to it but the USDA site is not straight forward.
-
Range all over the place for the 4oz amount
-
But I have seen it all over the place under 200 calories for plain skinless chicken.
-
I had/have the same problem. On the back of the packaging for the skinless boneless breast (that I bought at Market Basket - in NH) it said 4oz (112g) was 120 calories with 24g protein. Amazing how difficult this information is to come by and with no go-to reliable authority.
-
REALLY appreciate all the feedback!!! Thank you!
-
Thanks!

Wow, I read that thread. Very helpful thank you. I'm also sad that that nice bowl of pasta won't be so big tonight. I'll start weighing.
-
But do you need to weigh it after if it's only water?
-
Is
-
I the nutritional info on the box for example giving dry food data or cooked food data?
-
weigh
-
Thank you! Would I weight dry pasta or cooked pasta?
-
Awesome! Thank you!
-
Also... turns out based upon my research there is trace amounts of protein in coffee. Very cool!

Thanks for the feedback. I use the bar code scanning feature as often as I can which is incredibly cool and helpful. Also google search anything questionable as to nutrition and am able to get what I believe is accurate info. At least it seems to make sense for me. Thanks again!
