  • Oh that wasn't what I had meant, my apologies if it came off like that. I know the water in it is still water of course, nothing can change that. I still drink diet soda regularly and have nothing against it in the slightest. But just personally when I drink diet soda I never have seen it as a source of hydration even if…
  • I know I never count my coffee or green tea towards my water intake. That being said, I don't see why you couldn't so long as you had black coffee or plain tea. All you're doing in that case is adding one ingredient for each and adding just a few calories that wont make much of a difference in the majority of cases. The…
  • That's what I do as well because it just makes sense. Just checking to make sure so I can make sure I'm logging right. I appreciate it
  • When I started changing my diet over I had read vegans and vegetarians usually are deficient in some amino acids and nutrients so I use the flax and the pistachios more for the micronutrients vs depending on them as a good source of protein. Plus they're tasty so I don't mind having them regularly haha
  • If you make it yourself it turns out to be pretty cheap
  • I've incorporated ground flax seed and pistachios into my everyday foods along with eggs and Greek yogurt daily I think that gets me all of the essential amino acids. I believe I read that eggs include all of them so I've made sure to eat them regularly
  • Perfect that's the answer I was hoping for haha thank you
  • That's true I still try to stay mindful of everything else I am eating too, I appreciate it!
  • Yeah that makes sense. I always wondered if I needed to include body fat into it and that answers it. Thanks!
  • Oh alright that makes sense. I have just been going a little higher than I thought all this time haha
  • I've always been under the impression that you're supposed to measure it as lbs of bodyweight not lbs of LBM, is there a real difference besides having slightly higher macros for fat and protein?
  • I was doing the same thing as you a while back and one day decided to just go for it nonstop and see how far I can get. In the end I did the 13 miles but had aching joints for a few days so I would definitely work up to it. Also a tip I got from another runner who does half marathons pretty frequently was to bring coconut…
  • You need to find an eating pattern that works for you to keep you from feeling deprived while still keeping you in a deficit. Everything seems to point in another direction besides IF for that. Otherwise I have been doing IF for months now and the hardest part was developing the willpower to resist eating when I wasn't…
  • I will definitely check that out when I get the opportunity. This is one of my first times hearing about it
  • I have started weighing myself daily starting about a month ago and I feel that that has helped me stay on track better doing exactly how you say. In the morning before I eat or drink anything. I will try to figure out my maintenance and go from there. I know I've only experienced weight loss in my time so weight…
  • Alright I will re-adjust and see if that helps me out some. I appreciate all the advice
  • I know I have started increasing the intensity of my workouts which might be part of the reason
  • How long should I spend going from a deficit to a surplus?
  • I believe if I had it on maintenance on here it has me around 2200 Cals. I only set it to gain .5 lbs a week
  • That's what I was thinking. I knew it didnt burn much and i am hoping to lose it slowely so I can keep as much muscle as possible. I just didn't know if it seems like too much for the amount of calories and ill end up burning out or going catabolic
  • Ive quit drinking just to get in better shape as well. I never drank often but when I did I was out of the gym for 2-3 because it took a while to get feeling normal again. Definitely makes it harder being social because a lot of my friends don't understand what i'm trying to do. Otherwise i've seen nothing but benefits…
  • I do IF now and once my body got used to it after about a week it got a lot easier and I feel like I have more energy during workouts. Its just once I'm done I have to eat a bunch just because I have no energy left
