  • I have very little self control in the evening for some reason even if I save the bulk of my calories for the latter part of the day. For the past three days I have been drinking Metamucil appetite control. I have only tried the orange zest flavor it sort of taste like tang. but it also comes in pink lemonade. It's a little…
  • Once a week officially on Fridays otherwise I would go insane with the various fluctuations throughout the week. But I weigh in and log it on Friday because Saturday and Sunday are rest days and I don't usually workout on those except maybe a walk if I'm in the mood.

  • I would like to lose 100 lbs in total. Since January I have lost 42 lbs by restricting calories, weighing my foods, logging everything I put in my mouth and working out 5 days a week. It's a constant struggle but it can be done! Feel free to add me as a friend and I wish you well in your journey to a healthier lifestyle.
  • I remind myself that I am in it for the long haul, I am not perfect and mistakes happen then I go to the gym and add extra weights to the rack as.
  • Everyone on the the forum wants to help with advice I'm sure, but you should really seek the help of a medical professional to find the cause. A metallic taste in your mouth can be indicative of a number of problems that a simple blood test can solve. Good luck and be well.
  • I don't recall saying that I believed sweating was the equivalent to weight loss, maybe some of you should take a few minuted to read the actual thread before commenting.
  • I'm honestly not sure. It's a psychological thing I suppose, I feel like I'm sweating I'm working hard, I'm detoxing. Especially after 35 minutes going hard on the elliptical machine when I am a sweaty mess I just feel great. I'm sure it's endorphins kicking in but the sweat helps. It's all in my mind. :#
  • I feel your pain. Unfortunately our bodies lose fat where it wants to, you can't target a certain area for fat loss (how I wish I could). Try doing lat pull downs you build muscle and tone the area, at least that what my trainer has in my routine and I'm noticing a slight difference. Good luck!
  • There is a difference between girdles, compression garments and neoprene garments. Investigate if you would like to learn the difference.
  • A standard waist trainer is a comes sion garment that has boning and straps to compress the waist as opposed to neoprene which is a material that causes one to sweat.…
  • Walking. Start slow to avoid injury or overdoing it. Park your car further away from your destination. If you don't have a walking track near home start with walking 2 or 3 blocks and then return home. Also be sure to wear comfortable supportive footwear. Best of luck! You can do it!
  • Not a waist trainer, neoprene waist trimmers aka hot vest https://www.amazon.com/LAZAWG-Womens-Slimming-Neoprene-Shapers/dp/B01C2MT8BK/ref=sr_1_17?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1494584759&sr=1-17&keywords=neoprene%2Bwaist%2Btrainer&th=1
  • Funny you should mention that when I first started training and about once a month my trainer does some calculation I believe is Total expenditure or something and basal rate I probably need to pay more attention to those sessions as well as opposed to just the workout. Thanks for the tip.
  • Thank you, I will look into it.
  • High knees are pretty effective, it's almost like jogging in place but you raise your knees higher. I would imagine in can be effective if your heart rate is increased and steady. I would say go for it.
  • I actually have a certified trainer that planned and update my workout for me and my weight loss is steady 1 to 3lbs per week, I have no complaints. Even in a caloric deficit I am managing to build lean muscle in most areas. And yes I am aware that rest is key to optimal recovery, I'm not sure why you have not commented on…
  • thanks for the strong curves info. It's very insightful. I am about 40 to 50 pounds away from my goal weight so I will have to stay in a deficit for now. But I would like to retain what I have but the problem is my behind seems to be mostly fat but if I press deep enough I feel a firm muscle underneath the fat. I'm looking…
  • Wow, you ladies are awesome! I squat and deadlift 2 to 3 times per week and I have never tried to add so much weight to the bar. Maybe that's why I am not building my glutes as fast as I would like. I only squat with 50 including a twenty pound bar and I dead lift 70lbs. I feel like such a weakling. And I'm 40 btw.
  • I do two 35 minute HIIT sessions on the elliptical machine mon-fri, religiously almost. One before strength training and the second one after. If the cardio machine is inaccurate then I may need to invest in a fit bit or something.
  • I am only five months in to my fitness journey and I only feel a slight endorphin high after a good HIIT session on the elliptical machine. I follow with lifting and most often than not my muscles are exhausted and I'm hungry as all hell. I hope one day in the near future I begin to have the "buzzed after workout" feeling.
  • I stand corrected. Very I'm formative information you provided. Very much appreciated.
  • Protein turns into sugar you say?...you sure about that? Because that is absolutely not the case. You may be confusing protein for carbohydrates friend. I'm not making this up, please investigate.
  • with that being said, what nutritional benefits does sugar actually have when someone is trying to lose weight? Because I am well aware of the benefits of protein satiety, muscle repair the list goes on, now sugar does what exactly for weight loss?
  • I avoid sweating to much after the hot shower by rinsing off in cooler water than the actual shower. So I don't sweat afterwards but I still freeze and I have a huge terrycloth robe with a hood and sweat and I sometimes get under my blanket if I have time because it's that serious. I am relieved that I am not the only one…
