This post made me smile, as someone who finally discovered that abstaining is way easier than moderating for her. Congrats on figuring out what works for you and bypassing temptation!

Huge congrats!

Good for you! Keep up the good work!

Not much into having my photo taken, but I've cropped three group photos (which is why I'm never standing up straight, lol) I was a part of over the last six months. May July November

Attended a concert last night. To get to my seat in the middle of a LONG row of seats, I had to scooch past a couple dozen people. It was physically easy and I wasn't too self-conscious. It really drove home what a difference losing 22% of my starting weight has made in my quality of life. :-)

Congrats! Thanks for sharing!

It IS irritating in the beginning, but stick with it. Your body will eventually acclimate and thank you for it!

How well-meaning people will tell you that you've lost enough and should stop losing, even after you've explained that you're not even at a healthy BMI or anywhere near your goal weight....

2 pounds to go until I'm in the 150s....haven't been there in 20 years. 7 pounds to go until I'm a healthy BMI.

How much time I'd spend getting dressed. When I was obese I'd throw on anything that covered me. Now that I'm approaching a healthy weight range, I actually want to look good, which means I try on multiple items of clothing every time I'm going to leave the house, lol.

I'm 47 and am only 2/3 of the way to my goal, but I have lost 40 pounds since mid-April so I wanted to share what change I made that has worked wonders for me. I've accepted the fact that it is WAY easier for me to ABSTAIN from something, rather than MODERATE it. Not saying that abstaining is the way to go, just…

Six months ago I wore size 16 jeans and an XL shirt. This morning I'm wearing size 8 jeans and a medium shirt. Still a long way to go, but when I got dressed this morning, it felt like progress. I also bought the dress I want to celebrate in (haven't worn a dress in 6 or 7 years) when I hit a healthy BMI. It too is a…

I take an improv comedy class and I just found out that our next performance (the first in front of a paying audience...not fellow students....GULP!!!) is the first week of December. It would be awesome to be a healthy BMI when I go on stage. Goal 1: Met 10/23 New Goal: Lose 10 pounds before the show, for a total of 50…

Someone who I hadn't seen in six months called out, "You look wonderful!" when I went past her place while I was walking my dog. Really brightened my day.

I've lost a 5-gallon bottle of water. Just picked up five gallons of water and walked around with them for a minute...no wonder I used to be so tired.

Congrats!! You should be proud!!

I live in SW Florida and managed to NOT stress eat during the whole Hurricane Irma debacle because I stocked up on ONLY healthy foods instead of using it as an excuse to pig out.

Thank you for the dose of inspiration! You look great!!!

For the first time someone noticed that I'm losing weight. I've only lost 15 of the 50 pounds I'm planning to drop, but it was nice to get some outside validation.
