  • Wow 64lbs in 96 days, nice going. I've not been quite that successful but I have lost about the same amount over a longer period of time. (Although I've gained 15lbs back from getting complacent!) I also pretty much just stick to CICO. No sense over complicating in IMHO. I try to stay under 2000 calories a day with a lot…
  • I too am starting again. Lost around 70lbs, but got complacent in the last couple months and gained about 15 back :-( So i'm back at it to try and reverse course.
  • Wouldn't mind some friends... Been at this for a year and had lost 75 lbs. Unfortunately I had a bit of a setback and gained 10 back  Would be great to have some new buddies around my age (44) so we can help motivate and encourage each other.
  • 43 here. 70lbs down, and would love to lose another 40 more to finally be at a healthy weight. The more I lose the harder it gets  Would love to make some new friends with guys my age or older.
  • I also have a fitbit Charge 2 and if I ate the amount of calories it recommends, i'd be gaining weight. I feel like the amount of calories it recommends are more than I was eating before I started my fitness journey! It's crazy. I can only totally ignore it.
  • I'm in the same boat sort of. I've been at this for 2 months and am down 19 lbs. I am not doing high carb, etc. I don't want to over think it. Just trying to keep my consumed calories below 1600 per day with 3 square meals a day and a lot of cardio 7 days a week. As for weight fluctuation, I make it a point to try not to…
  • I'm 43 and just had my first heart attack. So now I'm trying to make a radical lifestyle change. I'm currently at 301 trying to get down to 240. I know 240 is not an ideal weight, but its the goal I set for myself. If I hit 240, i'll see what happens. Been at this a week and 4lbs down so far. Anyway, not looking to lose…
  • Very good input guys, thanks! I'll probably do like a couple people mentioned and put a "junk food" entry in my log of about 15 calories or so since I probably don't consume any more than 15 calories of gum, coffiee, etc. Now I won't have to feel bad about not logging it. Great input thanks
  • Yes, I am totally motivated! Motivated by fear, but it's motivation nonetheless, so I'll take it. I guess when life gives you lemons, its time to make lemonade.
  • I am so new to this, I am not even sure I know what support I need. I've pretty much ignored my body/health my entire life. And now with this rude awakening, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with information. I guess my primary goal is to keep this from happening again, as I quite enjoy living :) For now I think my focus is…
  • Indeed! I am going to ease into it. I am actually pretty scared yet to do anything more than walking. Today was actually the first day that I took a short walk. I see my primary care doc tomorrow, and cardiologist a couple weeks later. I have so many questions for them.
  • Thanks for the kind replies and links. Yes, lots of reading to do. I will give it my best shot!
