Thank you Barbie for giving us a clean slate! I am looking forward to traveling this month to celebrate two friends children's weddings. This was the reason I did my knee replacements in November. I'm not a 100% yet, but I am 1000% better than I was pre-surgery. Okie in the TX Hill Country

Thanks for thinking of me Lanette. I live in the Texas Hill Country now. All of my friends are safe. One friend lives in Sulphur, OK. Her town was hit hard, but she and her family are all good. Okie in the TX Hill Country

Agreed. If the account passes to the sister, the money is legally the sisters. She is under no obligation to split it. My Dads wishes were for his money to be split. The account went to me but I split it like a good daughter 😇 Okie in the TX Hill Country

No wheels for me either after my knees.

Good morning Ladies - Our house was in the path of totality so we took advantage of it and had some friends over for an eclipse party. We had fun. As others have noted, it was cool to watch but I don’t think I would travel for it. Carol - so sorry for your loss. Prayers for peace for you. I lost my older brother (only…

One of my friends sent me a highland cow warmie when I had surgery. I had my hubs heat it up and used it on my stomach to help warm me up. It was very useful but also really cute! Love it. Okie in the TX Hill Country

The link gives $17k for total knee replacement. The insurance company has been billed for over $350K for my bilateral knee replacements (so far, bills still trickle in). Okie in the TX Hill Country

One of the reasons they push knee replacement patients out the door so fast is to lesson infection chances. Of course, in the US insurance is the main reason. I suspect the same is true for hip replacements. Okie in the Texas Hill Country

Carol - I'm so sorry for your loss. I think your husband made the compassionate decision for your BIL. There is such a big difference in living and being alive. Hugs! Okie in the TX Hill Country

Have you thought about going to physical therapy to work on your balance? They could get you on the right track and then you could continue the exercises at home. I know doing any exercise is not something you want to do, but the only way you are going to get better (and get off some of your drugs) is to move more. It’s…

My uncle had a cochlear done many years ago and was so happy with the results he went back and did the other one a couple of years later. I hope you love your results too! Okie in the TX Hill Country

Are you going to be babysitting the new baby for the first year like you did Miles? If you are, take the opportunity to go on the cruise while you can. Okie in the TX Hill Country

Margaret - I’m so sorry. My prayers are with you. Okie in the TX Hill Country

Can you use one of the electric scooters at the grocery store? I did that the last couple of times I was at the grocery store in October just before I had my knees replaced. It was fantastic! Okie in the TX Hill Country

Isn’t his not standing up to her the same thing as you not standing up to him? A pattern that has been long established and he isn’t willing to change it? Okie in the TX Hill Country

On sweaters - I love a good cashmere cardigan in bright red or black. Very thin so great for layering. When we do NYC at Christmas I can take one cashmere cardigan and wear it every day with a different tshirt/cotton shirt under it. I only have a couple. They are expensive but worth it to me. Rebecca - when our parents were all still alive, we went home for Christmas each year. We spent an equal number of nights at my Moms and my Dads houses. We spent a few hours at hubs parents. Why? His parents didn’t let us bring our dog. We would drive 2 hours past his parents and leave our dog at either Moms house or Dads…
