  • Runner 5 here. I've had a couple of weeks off 5k training using the remodeled 5k trainer, but getting back on this week. I've been off and on using the app for a few years and I love it.
  • I got my workout in at work. Put in a 9 hour shift chasing early toddlers including frequent lifting for diaper changes. Standard work days in daycare are a workout I get paid to do. And it was best for my health that I didn't add a true workout in on top of things unless I wanted to call in dead to work.
  • Completed and then some. My kiddos ran me around even more this afternoon, plus I always forget how much I walk when I'm breaking my room down.
  • I'm in. Today will probably be an easy day since I'm flying solo in my class of early toddlers and I'm working 9 hours. I also plan to take a walk after work to unwind (because days like this always seems to leave me overwound). I'm already at 8k and it's just lunchtime.
  • Just finished up week 3 of training, which was a struggle between weather (omg Houston is going to kill me with heat and humidity) and having a day where I just felt out of it. Bur made it through and start week 4 on my new schedule of evening runs. Also going to start adding foam rolling to help with some tightness.
  • I've found something I enjoy doing for working out. I've always low-key enjoyed running (especially when I had a canine partner) and found that I'm just competitive enough that races can provide a good focus for me. I don't eat traditionally healthy. I eat what I enjoy in moderation, which sometimes includes salads and…
  • Fiance and I have recently switched to Freshly from Hello Fresh. As much as I liked HF, I felt like the last few months we're getting stale (aka we we're getting the same meal options every other week, which I blame on them now offering premium, Hall of Fame, and breakfast options). Freshly fit better within our lives,…
  • Snacks. When I worked an office job, I always packed a low calorie snack pack to have in the afternoon or on the commute home (or sometimes both). Even now that I work in daycare, I get the munchies around the same time our kids have snack in the evenings, so I just have a small serving of what their having (half a Graham…
  • I generally like to work out in the morning, since it's when the Texas weather is most bearable and it gets it out of the way. However my work schedule is shifting next week, so I'll be coming in for a full-time shift but also get off early enough that I can run in the evenings.
  • It's why I'm excited to be going up to Colorado for two weeks in October. It's going to be nice to run in sleeves and dark colors and not be dying from the heat.
  • Houston as well here. I have to go out early in the morning or after I get home at night. And I still take a bottle of water with me and down a Gatorade when I get home. This is the first summer I've been seeing through clothes consistently. :s
  • I weigh daily and track for trend data, but only officially log once a week (Saturday or Sunday morning).
  • I'm definitely planning to. I'm also taking advantage to wear my black ZR shirt because it rarely goes out here in Houston.
  • I'm going to wrap up week 2 with a night run tonight after work (because I can't fit it in any other time today or tomorrow morning) and then start week 3 on Sunday. It's definitely a slower story, but it adds a bit more body to the main story (you'll start noticing new stuff week 2 that come up in the main line later…
  • I put in my entry for the race over the weekend, so I'm hoping my shirt comes in before we leave because Colorado is going to be chilly. Also taking my black ZR shirt that I only can wear in winter here since it'll be perfect for high altitude, mountain jogs.
  • Not prep perfect, but fiance and I have done Hello Fresh for a year and then changed to Freshly to change it up. I would search the database using your brand and the meal name and compare it to the company nutrition (probably found on their website or even the containers). I've found most of my Freshly meals have already…
  • I'm close to 7k for my day, but I haven't gone in for work today, which I can usually expect to get another 5k-7k as long as half of our kids are in. Chasing toddlers racks up a good amount of steps.
  • I'm going on my honeymoon in a few months. I plan to bump up to maintenance, be active, and not worry. I'll guesstimate what I'm eating, but in the end, I'll get back to it when I come home. I do plan to do a lot of jogging and hiking while in Colorado, including a virtual 5k (put in my entry today). I also plan to keep up…
  • We actually are wrapping up our Honeymoon the day after release, so if I want to run through the mountains fleeing from zombies, I'll have to do it on release day. It's a way for me to start with my goal of running races away from home (I missed out on a 5k when we were in St Croix hosted by the b&b we stayed at).
  • I'm planning to do it. If I want to participate while I'm on my honeymoon, I'll have to do it the release day. Otherwise, I'll be doing it when we get home. I'm planning to also get the long sleeved shirt since I don't really have any workout clothes between death by Texas heat and freeze for a month.
  • I guesstimate using other entries from restaurants. It's not perfect, but it gives me an idea of what I'm paying in calories. I tend to guess higher so I have a bit of wiggle room.
  • I have a hard time drinking urban tap water (I grew up on rural well water), so taste is something I'm sensitive to. I usually either buy pre-flavored water (frut from Aldi's is pretty good), buy flavor packets, or it all gets run through a filtered pitcher kept in the fridge.
  • I tend to like something sweet in the evenings after dinner. I'm not worried about my sugar intake, so I always try to have yet calories set aside for something sweet (right now, its either gelato on a stick or popsicles).
  • On mornings that I don't go in early for work, I motivate myself with the fact that it's the coolest time of day to workout and that I'm going to get home late and not want to. On days I do get called in, the kiddos in my class help me out (we sing and do laps around the classroom, they like for me to pick them up and do…
  • Fried chicken has definitely been my recent craving. I want Wingstop, Popeyes, chicken that is friend and delish. Thankfully, Popeyes does a pretty good blackened chicken that is acceptable to my cravings.
  • If I think I'm going to be doing a harder or longer workout, I'll eat something small and light. Otherwise, I wait to eat after my workout. I've never had issues with performance when I don't eat before, but I make sure to eat soon after I finish.
  • Completed my first of the new 5k trainer. The audio is pretty much the same, but the added features of being more fluid with external music and the stats picture filter are both really nice for runs. :) Got a bit of an extra workout too since a group I go Pokemon Go raiding with was out and we were going to do two, so I…
  • Fiance and I always keep several cases of Frut water (sold by Aldi's). If you have one nearby, I recommend it, but a lot of places don't have Aldi's around.
  • I've tried several different calorie tracking apps over the years (never itrackbites), and I have always come back to MFP. The database, even with its errors is still one of the best out there. The ease of use is great and I can quickly enter things, even on busy days (I've gotten to work with 2-5 minutes to spare and been…
  • Houston here. If I plan on actually running, I'm either out in the morning before 8 or don't go out until after work (7ish). I do walk in the afternoons on my lunch break, but even that is coming to an end because I hate not being able to cool down enough before clocking back in.
