thank you so much! I probably wouldn't have looked at "Edit Previous Measurement Entries", but there it is!

On my second week back at work, for which I am so grateful. It's out of the question for me to drink during the week, I just couldn't balance it along with work...even though years ago I used to do it almost daily. But I have changed, gotten older, and just can't tolerate it anymore. So I will plan sometime throughout the…

I think I'll borrow your new motto!

Not in FL, but TX - both high heat, high humidity places. I keep saying I want snow, but I guess if I had it, I would be complaining about that, too...I never complained about the weather when I lived in the Bay Area <3 I miss it.

Had pre-planned wine last night, didn't overeat, and feel good this morning. Out early to take dogs to the groomer, then grocery shopping and home for breakfast. A few chores need to be done today, but nothing much, I'll relax and get ready for work tomorrow, mostly. I have the window open, enjoying probably the last cool…

When I got laid off the last thing I could think about was reinventing myself... @donimfp, I tried Zip Recruiter, Indeed and Nexxt, and got a lot of responses and some interviews in the same week. I always went through craigslist, and never heard back about any job. And check temp agencies in your area, they are a great…

I found it very easy to stay away from wine when I was getting blood work. It became all about my health, and that overcame everything else. It also carried over when it was done, so I don't drink nearly as much as I did. March wasn't great, but comparatively speaking, it was better than my past. I'm using some of the…

March was pretty much a fail for me, but I'm back for a better April. I'm glad this thread keeps going, I still read everything, and post once in a while...lots of inspiration here. I start work again on Monday, so that is a huge relief...

Wow, 81 days! Congratulations! Can you link to your exercise thread? I need to start, and I can handle 10 minutes B)

thanks :) And have a great time on your cruise. You're so right, this thread has really given me a lot to think about and makes it easier to say no to overdoing it...but no reason you can't enjoy.

Medical procedure (colonoscopy) done yesterday, with 7 days AF. As they asked me questions before giving me the anesthetic, it made me realize how perfect my body really is, especially at my age, and that I am a fool for not taking better care of it. On any meds? No. Any heart problems? No. Breathing problems? No. I…

Happy Wednesday to everybody. I'm glad to see this thread keep going, it's very inspirational to read some of the posts, and happy for everyone who is meeting their goals, and if you're not currently - don't give up! I'm AF by force this week, as I have a medical procedure tomorrow, so I just didn't want to have that in my…

(((Eric))) we all have days like that sometimes, start fresh tomorrow. Think how good you'll feel when you wake up Monday morning with a clear head.

I love the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, here's a link to their concert at Carnegie Hall, I have the whole thing memorized. What a great group they were. There are 3 drinking songs, (which will probably make you NOT want to drink :) ) and plenty of IRA songs...those were just the times.…

I think your answer is in your avatar :)

@salleewins I can understand your feelings, I lost my daughter to leukemia when she was 2. It's said that no matter what your loss, someone else has gone through more than you have. Losing a son after having him with you for so many years is terrible, yet we do have a loss in common that not many can understand. Keep…

Good that you came here, you'll be back in Dryistan :p in no time. I fell off as well, trigger is waiting for my contract at work to be renewed...stressful time for me, for sure.

donimfp, please explain! You've been a valued poster here since the beginning - what happened? Who is the "well-meaning and kind soul" who went down on social media?

ok, this is my new favorite quote on this thread...

Adding another reason to my list... Hard to stay AF reason #6: 45

Thanks for posting this video, I had no idea he had conquered his addiction(s). I'm going to check out more of his videos, I can relate to what he's saying.

I don't think there is such as thing on THIS thread, as posting too much. All the posts help me, and if it helps someone to post a lot, go for it! That's what we're here for, right? Hope so.

I had blood work done and went to the doctor this week for follow up results. All my liver functions were in normal ranges, which surprised me. It was something I always worried about, and it feels as if I was given a 2nd chance.

Dammit! The craving that has been shadowing me for several days won yesterday. Trying not to dwell on it. :(
-
good job on skipping the margaritas! I had a craving Friday night, which I ignored, and now it seems like the further away I get from my last glass of wine, the better I feel, and the less I want it. I don't keep anything in the house, but I used to always give in and go to the store. Breaking this bad habit!

that's how I felt today, it was dark and gloomy and a little rainy. I did some yard work (which I HATE, really wanted a reward for that!), and some inside organizing, read some blogs, and planned my meals for the week so I don't have to guess later on. Now I'm too tired to go out, so maybe I'll try some tea. Do you have a…

Beat back a craving last night, I was ready to get in the car and head to the store. I went to bed instead. :)

I bet there are a lot of men who binge eat, they just don't call it that. I'm going to check out that book, thanks for the rec.
