Username:90kgtoNewMe Weigh in day:Sunday Weigh in week:4 Weight last week:163 lbs Weight this week:158 lbs Sorry didn’t post in week 3 - don’t know if that disqualifies me? I was on a Prolon fast mimicking diet in Week 4 which is why I have shed 5lbs.

You will lose it! Much love and luck.

90kgtoNewMe Weigh in week 2 Weigh day Monday Pw 161.4 Cw 161.6 Not what I wanted, but it could have been worse. The two glasses of wine and caramel slice I had last night probably didn't help either. It's Monday (in Australia) so new beginnings and I'm hoping for a loss this week.

Hi Everyone I’m Katrina from Sydney, Australia. I’m happily married with 7 and 9 year old sons, plus a 6 month old Cocker Spaniel which gets me out walking at least twice a day! I came to MFP approximately 1 year ago weighing 90kg (198lb) and got down to 65kg (143lb) in about 9 months. However i haven’t been tracking…

Ultimately time fixed it for me. However I wear sneakers most of the time and suportive lace up shoes for work. I have orthotics but prefer the comfort of running shoes/sneakers. My podiatrist told me as long as I wear supportive shoes most of the time I can wear other shoes 10% of the time. I was told to ice my feet by…

I'd say for the majority, men included, our bodies are less forgiving as we get older. We can't just feed our body endless empty calories and expect it to carry on like we are in our twenties. But, to answer the original question, that doesn't mean it isn't a problem if we gain weight. We can't take health for granted as…

@Darcy0316 Great to hear how well FMD is working for you. How often do you plan on doing the diet?
-
Yes I’ve been making some bad choice too lately. I think I’ve eaten all the chocolate in the house so hopefully I can get back to it and ditch the sugar stuff.
-
if you want to track down to the nutrient level, maybe use a site like Cronometer for food tracking...?
-
Brilliant. Yes I lost 3.3lb and 2cm off my waist. It’s been three days since I’ve finished, I’ve been eating heartily and the weight has stayed off so all good!
-
Sounds like you are doing really well. Weight loss really does show in the face and makes people look younger! Also a good move to see a nutritionist. The bulk of my weight loss occurred before I did FMD as I was logging all my food and very determined. I started dieting in October and had lost 40lb by the time I started…

Here is an article that references various studies on Coconut oil and the risk to CVD: https://journal.thriveglobal.com/if-harvard-says-cut-saturated-fat-for-your-heart-health-what-about-coconut-oil-b12c609ae29d And the conclusion “I would offer up the opinion of the Chair of the Harvard School of Public Health which is to…

I would be careful of Keto, unless it’s Vegan Keto as there is a lot of data to show too much animal protein and fat can shorten your life. (Search Valter Longo in google). You could look at the info on this blog which is put together by Chuck Law’s fiancé (who has PCOS) and she would have almost unlimited funds for…

Let us know how it goes as I’d be interested to know if it gets easier each time you do the diet.

Yes, it’s all about finding a 5 day window! Good luck for next week.

Hi Julia Day 2 was hardest for me too! I went for walks and did Yoga but didn’t exercise hard during the fast. For me it’s probably the downside of doing FMD as I broke my exercise routine. But everyone is different and I’m sure some people will be able to exercise as normal. I’ve heard that Prolon gets easier each time…

I think that’s the key. Finding a diet that you can stick with long term, not a diet that promises you will burn fat faster.
-
All true. However Keto hasn’t magically allowed them to be more compliant, log better, lose weight faster.
-
Agreed you should get similar weight loss with similar calories regardless of macros. I always say “Calories in, calories out”. I don’t know why these Keto people haven’t lost the weight as fast as me when they are logging the same calories. my point is you can eat relatively high complex carb and lose weight at a healthy…
